“Seung gi should not have proposed to you if he was unsure of his own feelings” Hee Chul commented
“He didn’t propose, our parents arranged the wedding. He didn’t object to it” Jinny said, feeling sad, she finally realized that Seung gi had never shown her any love
“Why are you so devoted to him?” Hee Chul felt sad, he thinks she deserve real love
“Seung gi oppa saved me when I was in my final year in university. Without him, I won’t be here” Jinny said, once again remembering the day where she almost drowned
“You don’t have to be indebted to him, its not fair to you or to him” Hee Chul finally understood the reason behind this silly girl’s devotion
“Is it too late to give up?”
“Its never too late” Hee Chul gave her a smile.

Takashi arrived in Tokyo, and found out that Chae Yeon checked into the Nikkon Hotel. He went to find her, but was told by the staff that they are experiencing a failure in one of the generators and suspect that Chae Yeon is trapped in the elevator.
He waited patiently outside the elevator landing for the rescue team to figure out a way to pry open the door.
Inside the elevator, the air was getting stuffy and uneasy. Seung gi heard some noise going on outside
“Are you alright in there?” a voice from outside shouted
“Yes, there are 2 of us in here, we are fine for now” Seung gi shouted as loudly as he could
“We are trying to open the door, everything will be alright”
“I understand” Seung gi replied.
“Yeonie, wake up, how do you feel?
“I’m fine” She hugged him tightly. She felt comfortable in his arms, she wanted to just sleep there. The stuffy air in the elevator made her a little unclear of her surroundings
Suddenly, the door was forced opened and they could finally see light.

“Yeoniko!” The sight of Chae Yeon in Seung gi’s arms greeted Takashi. The jealous man he is could not take it.
“Takashi!” Chae Yeon was shocked to see him.
Fresh air entered her brain and she was able to think clearer.
“Come with me” Takashi carried Chae Yeon out Seung gi’s arms and pulled her out of the elevator.
Chae Yeon followed Takashi out. She was still in a slight daze, trying to recall what exactly happened.
“Chae Yeon” Seung gi called out.
Chae Yeon stopped as her legs stood frozen on the ground. She turned her head and looked at Seung gi.
After a few seconds, she lowered her head and turned back, following Takashi out of the hotel into his car.
Seung gi stood there, hoping that Chae Yeon would turn back and run into his arms.
She never did.

(In Takashi’s apartment in Tokyo)
“Hee Chul wanted me to let you know that Yuki is with him, and that he will explain everything to you when he sees you.”
“I want to go back to Miyazaki” Chae Yeon said
“Its late now, we’ll go first thing tomorrow morning okay?” Takashi dotingly stroked Chae Yeon’s hair. He wanted so badly to make her his. Especially after seeing her in Seung gi’s arms earlier.
“Yeoniko, do you love that man?”
“…”
“I’m sad, because after so many years, you refuse to accept me. Now that Yuki’s father has appeared, I don’t know if I should give up”
“I’m sorry” Chae Yeon said softly. For the 4 years that she knew Takashi, he has been wonderful to her. He was always there for her no matter how badly she treated him. She appreciated his love and concern for Yuki, even though she knows he uses Yuki as a bait. No matter how much she tried to accept him, she could not.
“If you want to be with him, I can understand. But of course I hope you will choose me instead. I know I can bring you happiness. I don’t promise things which I cannot fulfil”
Takashi Sorimachi, he never bows down to anything. He is a traditional strong proud man, but he started tearing, he didn’t want to give up, he truly loves her, but he knows her heart has never been his.
“I just need one last answer from you, if you say no, I will disappear from your life and leave you alone” Takashi held her tightly by her arms
“Will you marry me?”
It was a decision Chae Yeon had to make. Everything and anything complicated that has to do with Seung gi will be cleared up once she marries Takashi. He can provide her with everything she needs, a good father for Yuki and his very supportive family. Takashi’s parents love Yuki and Chae Yeon as much as they love their son, and have always been very supportive of a marriage between them.
This was a far cry from the kind of support she gets from Seung gi’s family.
“I’m sorry, it would be unfair to …” Chae Yeon looked into his eyes.
Takashi didn’t wait for her to finish her sentence but pushed her to the wall and kissed her violently. This woman was never his and will never be his. He has made his decision, he will give up. He will attempt to forget the woman named Yeoniko.
Chae Yeon collapsed crying, not because she was violated by Takashi’s kiss, but sad about how things ended up between them.
If only she met Takashi earlier, maybe things would be different.
If she didn’t have a shadow she couldn’t walk out off, maybe she could love him.
If her heart wasn’t occupied by that man 6 years ago, maybe today she could be Mrs Sorimachi.
But she knew that she made her decision to love that one man 6 years ago, and made the decision to bear his love child 5 years ago. She is not one who regrets, she cannot afford to. Right now, she just wants to go home to Yuki.
As she sat on Takashi’s private jet headed for Miyazaki, she opened the card he wrote to her.
“Thank you for letting me do one last favour for you. I wish you happiness”
Those were his last words to her.
