“Give me a big smile” Chae Yeon tried to cheer her daughter up
“Is daddy not coming?” Yuki asked
“Daddy is very busy. He said he will try his best, but he has work to do” Chae Yeon didn’t know if Seung gi will be able to rush here after receiving her message. He must be really busy, she understands.
“Is daddy a very very busy man?” Yuki looked around at the rest of the fathers in the school hall, and remembered the time she saw Seung gi filming his video.
“My Yuki is a good girl right? Come, do you want to sit with mummy or sit with your friends?”
“I want mummy” Yuki glued to her mother

“For this very special award, lets invitee our guest of honour, Miyazaki School’s very own alumni, Takashi Sorimachi. Mr Sorimachi graduated from this school more than 20 years ago, and has always been so supportive of our activities. Now a successful business person, we thank him for his time to attend our yearly ceremony.” The emcee announced.
Takashi walked up the stage and looked at the audience. One woman caught his eye immediately.
“Now we would like to showcase the painting of our talented first year student Yuki Lee. This painting has made it to the final rounds of the Asia pacific children’s art competition. We are all very proud of Yuki. Will Yuki come up to take your prize?”
“Hello Angel, well done, Uncle is proud of you” Takashi whispered and gave Yuki her prize with a big kiss on her cheek.
“Aww.. What a touching sight. Takashi, you must be very proud” the Emcee commented.
“Now we shall proceed with the level awards…”

At the reception, Chae Yeon was waiting for the perfect moment to sneak away with Yuki, but the ladies around her refused to stop talking.
“You know who Noriko’s husband is seeing? Her daughter’s tutor! Noriko could not take it. She’s filing for a divorce”
“Goodness! Does she intend to move back to Osaka then?”
The gossips went on and on. Chae Yeon saw Takashi from afar; he was saying goodbye to the kids and about to leave. She didn’t know if she was being rude not greeting him, but she chose not to anyways.
“Yuki, come here” Takashi signalled for Yuki to hop into his car
Takashi was usually invited to attend the Miyazaki school functions. He didn’t like to waste his time like this, but since Yuki started school here, he has accepted their invitations. The social circle in Miyazaki school treated Takashi as Yuki’s future father, and they have been very impressed with Takashi’s patience and commitment to this girl.
“Tell Uncle, is your mummy happy with your daddy?” Takashi questioned her
“Mummy is happy”
“When are they getting married?”
“I don’t know”
“Where is your daddy? Why is he not here?”
“I don’t know” Yuki could not answer his questions, she was still a little upset that Seung gi was not around.
“Angel, listen to Uncle, if your daddy ever makes your mummy or you upset, I want you to tell Uncle, will you do that?”
“Daddy loves mummy and me” Yuki tried to defend her father
“Silly girl, you love your dad so much now huh? Blood is indeed thicker than water. Whatever it is, you know where to find uncle if you need me. Now run along, mummy might get worried” He played with her plaits.
“Uncle Takashi.” Yuki stood up in the car
“Yes sweetheart?”
“Thank you” Yuki gave Takashi a kiss and ran away. She knows Takashi is a good person, but he cannot replace her daddy.
Takashi looked at Yuki running towards Chae Yeon. He wonders if he can really forget them.
