“You’ll know when we reach” Seung gi smiled and continued driving towards the suburbs.
They stopped at a villa not far from the Miyazaki resort, the place they had their first kiss.
“Come in” Seung gi opened the door for Chae Yeon and pulled her along with him.
“Where is this place?” Chae Yeon looked around, it was a very well designed villa. She fell in love with it the moment she entered it.
“I bought this place, I hope you and Yuki will live here with me”
“You are moving to Miyazaki?” Chae Yeon starred at him.
“Of course I am, unless you don’t intend to stay here anymore, we could go to Tokyo, or somewhere else, anywhere you wish…”
“But your life is in Seoul” Chae Yeon interrupted him
“Not anymore, come. I’ll show you the bedrooms.”
Chae Yeon quietly followed Seung gi up to the 2nd level.
“This is Yuki’s room. She picked the colours” Seung gi opened a room with pink walls and curtains.
“Yuki’s been here?” Chae Yeon found that startling
“Of course she has, she picked our bed too” Seung gi pulled Chae Yeon into another room and closed the door behind him.
“Why did you close the door?” Chae Yeon was unsure of Seung gi’s intentions.
“So you won’t run away from me” He stood with his back against the door, excitedly waiting to see if she likes their bedroom.
“But… ” Chae Yeon looked around the beautiful room. It is a very well decorated room, bright yet cosy.
“We have not been alone for a long time… as in… just the two of us…” Seung gi said, after awkwardly realizing how weird it must have look, trapping her in a room with him late at night.
Seeing that he is still so shy and innocent, Chae Yeon decided to play with him.
She naughtily took off her jacket and pulled him to the centre of the room. She got very close to him and took his jacket off. Then, she dropped both jackets on the floor seductively and went into the bathroom.
“Yeon…’ Seung gi was stunned at her sudden change of attitude
“Oppa….” She stretched out her hand, indicating for Seung gi to come into the bathroom with her.
Seung gi followed her sillily. The next thing he knew, he was locked in his own bathroom.
“Yeonie! Open up” He shouted to the giggling Chae Yeon.
“You need to be smarter if you want to abduct me again!” She sat outside the door to the bathroom, digging for the keys in his jacket.
“Darling, I’m wrong, let me out please? Its cold in here” Seung gi tried to gain pity. It was a semi-see through door, French doors that were more like windows, with latches on both sides.
“That’s what you get when you trick me like that” Chae Yeon put her jacket back on, feeling very satisfied with her achievement.
That night, they sat back to back with the bathroom door in-between them, talking.
“Seung gi have you thought you will be a father this young?” Chae Yeon asked him
“It came across my mind before. When I asked you to marry me… in 2007, I was thinking we could have babies two years later… because I wanted you all to myself for at least 2 years” Seung gi recalled the big plans he had
“Everyone thought Yuki was going to be a boy, then I kept praying that she would be a girl, and she did turn out to be a girl.” Chae Yeon laughed at how silly she was back then. When the doctors did the ultra scan for her, she was very excited about the baby, the gender, how it will look like, but she didn’t have a husband to share the excitement with.
“Yuki is such an angel. She takes after you so much”
“She looks like me but I think her personality take after you”
“Really?”
“She is very serious at school, she likes to learn, and is very matured for a five year old. She hates playtime. She usually draws alone in some small corner”
“Have you ever thought of looking for me?” Seung gi asked.
“No…I thought you hated me and moved on”
“I don’t know how to hate you, when it comes to you, hate is never in my dictionary. I don’t even think I could be mad at you”
“One Christmas you were really mad…” Chae Yeon recalled.

Christmas eve 2006
“Sweetie, are you done?” Seung gi called Chae Yeon. He was planning on taking her to a wonderful restaurant that his friend recently opened. She told him earlier that she had to work, and might not be able to meet him today.
“No… there’s a lot left undone…” Chae Yeon replied.
“But its Christmas eve. Why are they not letting you go?” He grumbled
“Everyone is working so hard, its not nice that I take off. Be good, we’ll have dinner another day alright?”
“How about I come accompany you at the studio?”
“No! Don’t come… there might be reporters… I’ll call you at home later k? Got to go… bye”
Seung gi eventually did went to Chae Yeon’s company, but it was empty. There was no one around. He decided to just go home and wait for her call. As he entered his house, he smelt the aroma of steak.
Who could it be? He thought to himself.
“Omma?” He called out
“Welcome home!” Chae Yeon jumped out in front of him. Wearing an apron and holding a ladle, she came up to him and gave him a peck on his cheek. “Merry Christmas!” She shouted.
“Why are you here?” Seung gi said coldly. He walked past her and put his things down on the counter
“To spend Christmas with you” Chae Yeon said happily. She dropped her ladle on the dinning table and hugged on to his arm
Seung gi pushed her hands away and sat down on the couch.
“Are you angry with me?” Chae Yeon sat beside him and cutely pouted
“I don’t have the time” He replied coldly, switching on the TV
“I’m making steak for dinner” Chae Yeon tried to get his attention again
“I’ve eaten already” Seung gi continued to switch channels.
“I … wanted to surprise you..” Chae Yeon said sadly and stood up.
Just as she took her first step, Seung gi pulled her back, into his arms.
“I’m very happy that you are here.” Seung gi said softly into her ears. He wanted to tease with her longer, but he couldn’t bear to see her sad face.
“This is our first time spending Christmas together” Chae Yeon smiled
“It will be the first of many Christmas together” Seung gi kissed her lips.
(Back to present)
“That was not mad, I was just kidding with you. Did you think I was really angry?” Seung gi got worried. His woman, she is still so naïve.
“You were never like that.. that’s why” Chae Yeon laughed it off.
*A few hours later*
Sensing that she had fallen asleep, Seung gi stood up and went to the other door in the bathroom which leads to a sitting area in the bedroom. He went around to the bed room and saw her sleeping beautifully on the carpet. Seung gi picked Chae Yeon up in his arms and brought her close to him. He lay her down on the bed gently and covered her up with her favourite cotton duvet.
“We are both so silly, that’s why we wasted 5 Christmas being apart” Seung gi smiled and gave her a peck on her nose.
