"So. What happened? I want to know every single detail," she said eagerly.
"No. Nothing happened. Not. A. Thing," I stated.
"Aw, come on! You serious?" she questioned. I nodded.
Of course, when Rainie sat next to me, the whole
conversation was about her and her problems. After listening
to her for two minutes, I got bored so I decided to think
about the possibilities that Aaron and I could become a
couple under any circumstances. In case she noticed I wasn't
paying attention, I nodded and said "Uh huh," and "Yup,”
every now and then.
In romance movies, my favorite part had always been
the part where the guys said, "You're mine." And, of
course, the part where the couples kissed. These were the
things I wanted my Prince Charming to say and do. I was one of those girls that wanted the guys to say sweet things when
I broke up with them. Something like, "I never felt true
love until I was with you, and I never felt true sadness
until you left me."
I was watching “Devil Besides You” It was a romance
drama, my absolute favorite genre. Later that night, I
dreamt of Aaron and I in one of the scenes. When he was
about an inch away from me, just moments away from kissing,
my alarm woke me up. I fell off, no, the word is rolled off
my bed once the dreadful ringing sounded. I searched for
the snooze button on my phone, and quickly went back to
sleep, hoping that I could continue with my sleep. I could
never seem to go back to my dreams, especially the ones I
wanted to go back to. How come it’s different when it comes
to nightmares? I could always manage to go back to where I
left off when there was a guy who was trying to murder me.
How sad.
I’ve been told that if you dreamt about someone, he
was thinking about you before he went to sleep. I thought
of Aaron almost every night before I went to sleep. If he
dreamt of me every time, did that mean he would get the
point? Or is he just oh-so annoyed because I came into his
dreams every night?
The day before, I had been at the mall with Selina
and Ella. Selina wanted to go shopping, Ella and I was just
being dragged along. We aimlessly walked by a gemstone shop
and Ella eagerly became attracted by the shiny objects,
dragging Selina inside.
"Help!!! There are creepy people inside!!!" Selina mouthed.
"I'll be sure to come and save you later,” I giggled. I was
by the newsstand buying water, when I happened to see Aaron
passing by Bossini, a girl our age by his side. As much as I
wanted to go up to him and ask who that was, I believe the
kiss they shared the next moment was my answer. I knew he’d
never be my boyfriend. I walked into the gemstone store with
disappointment written across my forehead. Ella and Selina
immediately sensed my sadness, and came to comfort me. But
I was fine. There was no need for me to put on my “I’m
okay, really.” face. I knew my Prince Charming would come
one day, he just took the wrong turn, got lost, and was too
stubborn to ask for directions. But I had faith in him, and
eventually, he would find his way.
