Chapter 38

Please..Forgive me...

From Maple Hotel, MeiZou drove with full speed to the restaurant, which XiaoQiao had hosted the celebration in, but when he got there, the restaurant had already closed. All he found was the busboy, who was just about to lock the door as MeiZou walked in. MeiZou asked him about XiaoQiao, and he said that she had left about thirty minutes ago. MeiZou then rushed right away to XiaoQiao’s house. In about thirty minutes, which normally takes an hour to get there, he arrived at her house. The house seemed quiet; he pressed the doorbell numerous times. After a while, the guan jia came out to open the gate.

Guan jia was surprised-“ MeiZou Shao Ye?”

MeiZou said in a hurry-“ Has your Xiao Jie come home already?”

Guan jia-“ Yes… Xiao Jie is home now… I think she is about to sleep… I saw her light go off a while ago.”

MeiZou-“ Come on…take me to her room.” He walked in toward the house.

Guan jia followed him-“ MeiZou Shao Ye… maybe you can come tomorrow… Xiao Jie has ordered me not to let anyone wake her up.”

MeiZou stopped and look at him-“ Even me?”

Guan jia-“ Yes… she said anyone...”

MeiZou-“ I don’t care… I must see her tonight.” Then he ran to the house and walked in to XiaoQiao’s room and left Guan jia out there calling his name.

In front of XiaoQiao’s room…

MeiZou knocked on the door so many times calling her name, but she still didn’t open the door. She told him she didn’t want to see him tonight and asked him to come back tomorrow. But MeiZou insisted on seeing her, finally he told her that if she still didn’t open the door, he’d sit there and wait for her until she came out. After a few hours, XiaoQiao finally open the door and she found out that MeiZou has fallen asleep sitting on the floor.

XiaoQiao-“ MeiZou…. MeiZou…. Wake up.” She said while shaking his body.

MeiZou stood up and looked at her-“ XiaoQiao?”

XiaoQiao-“ What are you doing here?”

MeiZou rubbed his eyes-“Hmm… waiting for you to come out la…”

XiaoQiao sounded upset-“ Didn’t I tell you to come back tomorrow?”

MeiZou-“ XiaoQiao… don’t get mad la… see I brought you this.” He said while showing her a bouquet of white lilies, her favorite flower.

XiaoQiao melted a bit, and pointed at the flower-“ What’s that for?”

MeiZou-“ For you la hon…. I’m so sorry… at the last minute I met with my client, I didn’t think it wouldn’t take that long, but when I saw the time, I knew I was late…”

XiaoQiao-“ Hey why you explain all this to me… I thought you’ve forgotten about me.”

MeiZou smiled-“ Hey… silly why would I forget about you? After the meeting I drove to the restaurant right away, but it was over and I rushed here, guan jia said you have been sleeping, but I needed to see you la… and explain all this… don’t get mad k? I won’t do this again…. Cross my heart k?” He tried to hug her, but she refused.

XiaoQiao-“ No… no…”

MeiZou-“ Please hon…. I promise you I won’t do it again.” He begged her with those puppy eyes and knelt down in front of her while holding her hands.

XiaoQiao finally gave up-“ Ok… ok… but you promised me…. Next time if you have something emergency again you need to call me k? Do you know how worried I was? It reminded me of AhSi… I was afraid something bad had happened to you.”

MeiZou smiled-” Ok… ok… I promise…. So are we ok?”

XiaoQiao blushed-“ Hmm… I guess…”

MeiZou hugged her-“ Thank You hon….” They hugged a while more, until XiaoQiao let go of him.
