And yes, GuiLunForever, this could be a GuiLun! :DDD Haha.
Here's a recap, again :D
---
“Do you have a boyfriend? You never tell us anything!” Xiao Man asked excitedly.
“Well, I don’t. But I used to. We weren’t exactly in a relationship but we were more than friends,” Xiao Xun told us. “You know, we kiss, and do stuff.”
We all laughed.
“You do what kind of stuff?” I grinned. “Who is he? I want to meet him!”
We all laughed at my first question.
“One question only, right?” She reminded us. “If one answered more, it’s within her will. And answering that question is against mine. So…”
“You’re unfair!” Ya Tou protested.
“And why do you even have to speak like that? You sound like a lawyer with al that ‘will’ crap!” Xiao Man scratched her head. And we all laughed.
“Forget it then,” I cut them off. “Let’s do Dare.”
“Okay,” The others answered, in unison.
[End of Recap]
-----
We started at Ya Tou again.
“Tell your mom how you feel about her wanting to divorce your father,” Xiao Xun dared.
“But how?” Ya Tou asked. “I don‘t even know where she is right now.”
“You’re gonna do that tomorrow,” Xiao Xun said. “And you have to tell us every single thing about it, okay?”
“Okay then, that’s easy.” Ya Tou agreed. “Yes! That was an easy dare.”
"Easy," Xiao Man said. "And corny!" She gave Xiao Xun "the look."
My turn.
“Call Wang Zi and tell him about you not being sure who to choose yet,” Xiao Xun challenged.
“Why you again?” I protested, clearly not wanting to do her dare.
“I was going to ask you to do that too! Xiao Xun was just too fast,” Xiao Man yawned with her eyes, half closed.
“Okay, okay.” I sighed. “I will do the dare.” And I started dialing Wang Zi’s number.
*Phone conversation*
“Gui,” He said my name. “Why? Is there a problem?”
“Err, there’s no problem.” I stammered. “I just want to tell you that.” I said each word slowly because I didn’t know how to tell him.
“W-w-wait,” He stuttered. “Are you breaking up with me?”
I laughed. What breaking up? “Of course not, it’s just that…”
He cut me off, “Oh good, continue.” I heard him heave a sigh of relief.
Funny. “It’s just that, I want you to know that I love you so much.”
“I know, and I love you too,” He replied, happily. I actually heard him smile, if that was even possible.
“But,” I felt like I ruined his moment. “But you know about my agreement with Aaron, right? I still haven’t decided who to pick yet.” I stated the words without breathing.
Silence.
“Wang Zi,” I said, trying to catch his attention. “I just wanted to tell you.”
Silence.
“Hello?” I called.
Someone laughed, it was Wang Zi. “Sorry, sorry. My soul ran away, I went out to catch it.”
“Ha, ha, lame joke.” I teased. “So do you want me to repeat everything I said?” I asked, hoping he would say no.
“Nope,” Yes! “I heard everything. It’s okay, I know that already.”
I sighed. “Okay then. That’s all,”
“Okay. Good night, Gui.” He said. “I love you.”
“I love you too.”
*End of phone conversation*
“Ha!” I stuck my tongue out, teasing my best friends.
“It’s your turn Xiao Man,” Ya Tou gave Xiao Man a funny look. “And I’m the one who’s gonna ask you to do something.” She glared at Xiao Xun. “Not you, Xiao Xun.” Then she laughed.
We all laughed.
“Hmm,” Ya Tou looked at Xiao Man. “Ask Ah Ben about the Xiao Jie girl.”
“Piece of cake,” I commented.
“For you!” Xiao Man protested.
“A dare’s a dare.” Xiao Xun voiced out.
“Do I really have to do this?” Xiao Man toyed with her hand phone. We gave her a just-do-it glare. “Okay. Okay. I’ll do it!”
Xiao Man dialed the phone and looked nervous. The three of us said: “Don’t worry.” Xiao Man stood up and started walking, Ah Ben answered the phone, I suppose. Xiao Man took a long pause and talked.
“Ah Ben,” Xiao Man said. “I want to ask you something.”
Pause.
“Well, it’s about you and me.” Xiao Man spoke. “Basically just about you but it would be about us if…”
Pause.
Xiao Man was talking too much, Ah Ben probably wanted Xiao Man to get to the point.
“I just want to know if you have another girlfriend.” Xiao Man finally broke the words.
Pause.
“No, no, no!” Xiao Man panicked. “Because I saw your inbox and there were lots of sweet messages from a girl named Xiao Jie.”
No pause.
“Who is she?” Xiao Man asked. “Is she your girlfriend?” Xiao Man started crying frantically.
A long pause.
We looked at each other. But we didn’t talk. We stared at Xiao Man’s form without a single blink. Xiao Man didn’t speak again after that. Xiao Man practically said “Uhm’s” and “Yeah’s?” until they hung up.
“How was it?” I asked, worriedly.
Xiao Man looked at us. Then laughed loudly. “I. Am. So. EMBARRASSED!”
“What?” We asked. “Why?”
“It turns out that the messages were for Ah Ben’s friend who is the real boyfriend of Xiao Jie,” Xiao Man explained. “I even cried!”
We all cracked up.
“So what was Ah Ben’s reaction?” Ya Tou asked.
“He kept saying I was too cute!” Xiao Man blushed slightly. “And he also said that his friend borrowed his phone because he left his at home. And he forgot to delete Xiao Jie’s messages because he was too busy.”
“He even said they were too cheesy!” Xiao Man chuckled.
“At least, you don’t have a problem anymore.” Xiao Xun muttered. “Now, let’s go to sleep.”
Xiao Xun was trying to escape from her dare. “No! You still have to do your dare.” I stopped her. Haha, my time to get revenge!
“Whatever the dare is, I’m not gonna tell you who the guy is!” She exclaimed.
“Sure,” I agreed. “Now, call ‘this’ guy, whoever he is, using another phone and tell him you love him.”
“Oh,” Xiao Xun looked unsure. “Whose phone am I gonna use?”
Ya Tou held her phone up high and said, “You can use mine!”
“Okay,” She snatched the phone from Ya Tou’s hand and started dialing.
Xiao Xun didn’t look at her phone to get the guy’s number. She must’ve memorized it. How sweet!
“Hello,” Xiao Xun called. “Hey, err, uhm... I love you.” And then hung up.
“That okay?” Xiao Xun asked, raising her eyebrow.
The three of us cheered loudly.
Xiao Man yawned. “You know what? I am so sleepy. Can we sleep now?” She asked, interrupting the cheers.
“Okay then,” Ya Tou replied. “I’m beat.”
“Yeah, I’m exhausted!” Xiao Xun exclaimed in agreement.
I didn’t reply. Instead, I looked for Ya Tou’s phone and checked the dialed numbers. I wanted to know who Xiao Xun called! But to my surprise, the list was empty. She must’ve deleted it. Smart girl.
The four of us lay down on our sleeping bags head-to-head so we could hear each other talking. But unfortunately, nobody talked. They were all sleeping, I guess. I was staring at the ceiling, thinking about Aaron and Wang Zi when Ya Tou suddenly talked.
“Don’t you think it’s unfair?” Ya Tou asked, her voice was as small as ever.
“What is unfair?”
“Uhm,” She hesitated, but continued anyways. “Don’t you think it’s unfair that Wang Zi knows that you haven’t chosen anyone yet while Aaron doesn’t?”
She actually made sense. I wanted t reply but I didn’t know what to say.
“You should call him too, Gui.” Ya Tou said.
“Now?” I asked Ya Tou. I waited for her to reply, but instead of receiving an answer, I got a soft snore instead. Was she sleep talking?
She’s right though, I have to call Aaron too. I stood up and looked for my phone, it was under my bag. I quickly dialed Aaron’s number. Until now, I still haven’t saved his number in my contact list.
*Phone conversation*
“Hello?” I said, though it was more like a question.
“Gui Gui!” Aaron greeted, happily.
So, he saved my number, huh?
“I have something to tell you.” I muttered.
“What is it?” He asked. “Is that why you called?’
“Of course, why else would I call you?” It wasn’t a question this time.
“I already know what you're going to say, you miss me right?” Psh.
“Shut up, Aaron Yan. Let me talk.” I commanded. “I called because I want to tell you that Wang Zi is my boyfriend.”
He cut me off, again. It was getting annoying. “I know that already. Did you just call to make me realize that you don’t want me anymore?”
“If you would just let me finish!” I exclaimed.
“Oh, sorry.”
“I called because I want you to know that Wang Zi is my boyfriend.” I heard him sigh. “But you must know that I still don’t know who to pick yet in the end.”
Silence.
Silence.
Silence.
“Aaron?” I asked. “Hello?”
Silence.
“Woohooo!” Aaron shouted. “Does that mean you still love me?”
I hesitated but still answered. “I guess so, maybe.”
He chuckled. “So does that also mean, we can meet? Just the two of us?”
“What just the two of us?” I asked. “Didn’t we have an agreement about trying to forget each other?”
“Well yes, but we didn’t have an agreement about not meeting until the ‘expiration date’, right?” He reasoned out.
“But,” I said. “I’ll think about it.” I sighed, hinting defeat. “Okay, so I’ve said what I had to. I have to go now Aaron.”
“Okay,” Aaron replied. “Good night.”
“Good night.”
I was about to hang up when Aaron said, “Oh wait, Gui?”
“What?”
“I love you.” He said, and then I hung up.
“I love you too.” I said silently, too bad the line was cut already. I wanted to tell Aaron I love him too but guts left my system.
