Monday, the first day after the spring break made everyone glow. You could hear all the enlightened conversations of people about the vacation they’ve had. It would’ve been great to listen to everybody. If only I wasn’t cramming. I had to study because of the exams. People might have forgotten all about it but I couldn’t because I was going to fail if I didn’t study!
“Xiao Maaaaaaaaan!” I screamed. “Exams! Exams! We’re gonna have the exams on Thursday!”
“So? I have studied already.” She laughed, and looked at me.
“So? You’re not supposed to say that! You should tutor me! You’re the genius here!”
“I would love to,” She muttered. “But I can’t. Sorry.”
“What? Why?” My world was about to end.
“I have a date with Ah Ben,” She said, with a smile plastered on her face. “You should ask someone else to tutor you.”
“Who could I ask to tutor me?”
“Uhm,” She hesitated. “You could ask my classmate, Wang Zi, to tutor you. He’s very smart but really cold.”
“Ha! Cold? No one’s cold when it comes to Gui Gui!” I exclaimed.
“Don’t be too sure, Gui.” Xiao Man looked serious.
I didn’t bother replying anymore. The bell rang and I had to go to my room immediately. My English teacher would be really mad and he’s very strict. He gives detention to anyone who arrives late.
I ran as fast as I could. Doing so made me remember Ian. I remembered how fast I ran after confronting him. And I remembered my agreement with him. “I should really find another guy and fall in love with him,” I thought. “I can do this! Go Gui Gui!” I cheered myself loudly and people were staring at me. But I didn’t care, I ran faster and because of my great running skills, I wasn’t late.
“Ha! I’m not late!” I shouted upon entering my classroom. My classmates looked at me and I was embarrassed. I stifled a laugh and went straight to my seat.
“What was that for?” Xiao Xun, my classmate, asked.
“Err, nothing. I just got carried away,” I answered. “Uhm, Xiao Xun, I have a question.”
“What is it?” She smiled.
“Do you know someone named Wang Zi?” I asked.
“Oh yes, I know him. We’re friends. Why?”
Upon hearing Xiao Xun’s answer, I’ve made up my mind to make Wang Zi my tutor. “Can you introduce me to him? I need a tutor badly and Xiao Man told me that he’s very smart. So maybe he can help me.”
“Oh,” She looked uncertain. “Okay, I’ll introduce you to him. But don’t get your hopes up, he’s not that friendly and he’s somehow… cold.”
“Why is everybody saying that?” I laughed. And the teacher came in.
---
The class went on forever, it seemed like the time stopped and made everyone suffer. I was so excited to meet this Wang Zi. I wanted to meet him. I was so eager to see if he really was cold. Maybe Xiao Man and Xiao Xun were just joking? But even if they weren’t, no one is cold enough to not be friends with me, Gui Gui.
The bell rang, finally.
Xiao Xun approached me and said, “The time was so fast!” I looked at her curiously, thinking about our different views about the time.
I grabbed her hand and started walking, “Let’s go meet Wang Zi!”
We went to Wang Zi’s room and I realized that he is Xiao Man’s classmate. And being my forgetful self, I forgot that Xiao Man told me that they were. Silly me. Nearing the classroom, I saw Xiao Man and I said, “Hi!”
Xiao Man winked and said, “Good luck!” Weird. Why was it like I’m gonna enter hell? Wait. Wasn’t he supposed to be cold? I was starting to be afraid. I’m having Goosebumps. Oh gosh.
Xiao Xun and I entered the classroom. I saw a handsome guy sitting, fixing his things. He’s handsome, but he looked really scary. He looked familiar too, maybe I already saw him before. How could I miss a catch like him? He looked at us and stood up. As he was nearing, I felt weird. Maybe I was scared.
“Hey Wang Zi!” Xiao Xun greeted, and Wang Zi smiled. “My friend, here, wanted to meet you.”
With that, I walked forward and said, “Hello! I… I… I am…” I stuttered. What happened to me?
“You… You are Gui Gui.” Wang Zi grinned and looked at me. Why did this guy know who I was? And he didn’t look cold at all, when he said my name.

Ohhhhh... Why did Wang Zi know Gui Gui? Have they met before? Haha! Read on to find out! :)
