Wang Zi came, running from the dining room, “What?” He looked baffled.
“Why am I in this photo?” I asked, more baffled.
“Oh, that was from back then,” Of course that was from back then!
“I don’t understand. Why was I with you?” I gave him a questioning look.
“Oh, we used to be friends. When we were in 1st grade,” He muttered. “Until I left for America.”
“Oh my god! You. Are. Qiu. Sheng. Yi.” I uttered the words slowly and looked at him. “But! Why did you change your name?”
“Because I had to. I used the name Prince in America so the people there won’t have difficulty saying my name. And when I came back, I was used to people calling me Prince so I used Wang Zi as my new name.” He answered, intelligently. “Don’t worry, Qiu Sheng Yi is still my legal name,” He added.
I stared at my long lost friend, gathering all the memories we’ve had before, not having anything in mind to say. I remembered how we first met. I remembered how he helped me when some guys bullied me in 1st grade. I remembered the day we ate ice cream non-stop because it was my birthday. I remembered our last day together and how he told me he was leaving. I remembered how we hugged each other tightly, promising we would never forget each other. I remembered how my mom hid all of our pictures together so that I would stop crying. I remembered how she begged me to stop weeping because she couldn’t sleep. I remembered how I cried secretly because I was missing my best friend. I remembered meeting Xiao Man at the park in 4th grade. I remembered how we, Xiao Man and I, introduced ourselves to Ya Tou when we were in 5th grade. I remembered how I started moving on. I remembered how I started to think about him a little bit less each day. I remembered the day I forgot about him completely.
I guess I never really forgot about him. Maybe, I stopped thinking about him a long time ago but I’ve always kept him deep in my heart.
I felt tears forming at the side of my left eye. I tried not to cry but being the cry-baby that I was, I lost the fight. I cried like a baby and hugged him really tight.
“I m-m-m-mi-mi-missed y-y-you!” I tried saying, I hope he understood. “Why didn’t you tell me?”
“I missed you too,” He hugged me back, and kissed my forehead. “I didn’t tell you because I wanted you to remember our friendship, without me forcing you to,”
“But what if I never needed a tutor?” I asked. “What if I never knew you were my best friend?”
“Oh are we still best friends? That’s good to hear!” He exclaimed, and kissed my forehead once again, totally ignoring my question. I guess I shouldn’t ask too much because I found him already. That was more than enough.
I hugged him once again and he smiled at me. I pulled back a few seconds later and we proceeded to the dining room. We talked while eating dinner, catching up with each other. He stared at me constantly, probably missing me so much too. After 2 hours of talking, we finished up, and I told him I was going to Ya Tou’s house.
“But it’s late, Gui Gui.” He said. “Just stay here for the night. I’ll bring you to her house tomorrow morning so you can go to school together.”
“I can’t Wang Zi,” I said, using his ‘new’ name. “Ya Tou’s mom knows that I’ll sleep over their house. If I don’t come home, she’ll be worried,” I looked at him apologetically.
“If you want, you can come fetch us tomorrow so we can go to school together,” I gave him my sweetest smile.
His face lightened up and said, “Okay, but I’ll bring you to Ya Tou’s house tonight.”
“Shall we walk?” I hinted.
Knowing that I agreed with his condition, he smiled and put his right arm around my shoulders, “Come on, best friend.”

I walked inside Ya Tou’s house and greeted Ya Tou’s mom. Ya Tou’s mom smiled and said, “Go upstairs, they are waiting for you.”
They? Does that mean Xiao Man’s going to sleep over too? Oh joy! Now I could tell them all about my long lost best friend, Wang Zi.
“Guiiii!” Ya Tou squealed.
“Hi!” I greeted. “Oh, Xiao Man! I’m glad you’re here!” I greeted her too, noticing she was there.
“What hi?” Ya Tou protested.
“What should I say then?” I asked, completely puzzled.
Xiao Man stood up and looked at me straight in the eyes and laughed, “How was your date?”
“What date?” I was still puzzled. Oh, Wang Zi! “Oh my gosh, I have lots of things to tell you!”
Ya Tou stood up too and faced me, “Start at why Wang Zi’s arm was around your shoulders.”
Oh gosh, they saw that? But we’re just friends! “Oh, that’s because we’re friends!” I exclaimed. “Do you remember Qiu Sheng Yi ? He’s Wang Zi!” I said, full of excitement.
They looked disappointed. But why? “What?” I asked them.
“I thought you two were together,” Xiao Man finally spat the words out of her mouth.
“What?” I laughed like crazy. “Impossible.”
“Nothing is impossible,” Ya Tou muttered.
Nothing is impossible? Haha! Ya Tou’s so funny! How could nothing be impossible? She’s such a joker. But actually, I liked it when Wang Zi put his arm around my shoulders, and when he kissed my forehead, twice. I felt safe.

I woke up early. I was excited to see Wang Zi again. I took a bath and got ready to school. I woke Ya Tou and Xiao Man up too. They were such sleepyheads! But I succeeded. They dragged their body out of the bed and I fixed the comforter and the pillows. Twenty minutes later, I heard the doorbell ring. I didn’t want to go downstairs yet so I ignored it and let Ya Tou’s maid answer the door. I was combing my hair when someone knocked the door, it was the maid.
“Ms. Gui Gui, someone’s looking for you,” She mumbled, sleepily.
I was about to ask who it was but I remembered my agreement with Wang Zi. I got really excited and my heart beat faster. But why? “Please tell him I'f be downstairs in a few minutes,” I requested.
The maid nodded and I closed the door.
“Who’s looking for you?” Xiao Man asked, still haven’t taken a bath.
“Wang Zi,” I answered. “You have to take a bath now so we can go to school together! I promised him yesterday.”
“Oh!” Xiao Man giggled. She stood up and knocked on the bathroom door. “Ya Tou! Wang Zi’s here to fetch Gui Gui! Shall we let them go first?”
Ya Tou mumbled something unintelligible and squealed with excitement, “Of course! Bye Gui! I miss you already!”
“So go now Gui! We agreed already. See you later!”
I smiled and went out, “OK.”
I went downstairs and I saw Wang Zi sitting on the couch. How beautiful. He looked really handsome. He looked like an angel. He looked at me and smiled. And I immediately erased the thought from my mind.
“Good morning!” He greeted me and looked around. “Where are your friends?”
“Oh, they aren’t ready yet so they asked me to go first,” I said.
“Good,” He smiled. Good? <3
We went outside and he helped me in his car. I smiled, he’s such a gentleman. He went inside and looked deep into my eyes and started driving. He drove really fast but I wasn’t scared. I felt safe and secured. Aaron never made me feel that way. Aaron? Why was I thinking about him?
I hit my head and shouted, “Shoo!”
