Chapter 8

Together

The night with him was great. Even better than when I was with Ya Tou and Xiao Man. We had this special connection that made things a lot more special. Even though we haven’t seen each other for years, the connection didn’t fade. We spent the whole time eating and talking about the things that happened to us before we met again. I told him what happened between Aaron and me. When I finished the story (about what Aaron and Hebe did), he was furious. He was determined to beat him up but of course, I calmed him down. It was a hard thing to do, considering his stubbornness. He told me about what happened to him in America and how his Chinese eyes mesmerized girls. I laughed at him because he mesmerized me too, even though we have the same Chinese eyes. We talked and talked until it was late and he brought me home. When we arrived at my house, I invited him to have tea. I also wanted him to meet my parents, once again. But he refused and said it was so late and he didn’t want to disturb my parents. And so, we said our goodbyes and he kissed my forehead, again.

I smiled at his face. “If you just know how much I like you, Gui Gui.” He whispered into my ears and hugged me. He let go, I looked at him, stunned.

I stared at his beautiful figure and said, “I’m not sure about how I really feel right now but I have to admit, you make my heart jump every time you stare at me, you take my breath away every time you kiss me on my forehead, and you make me wish time would stop every time I’m with you. So I guess, I like you too.”

Wang Zi looked at me and held my hand, “I know we’ve only been friends again for 2 days. But I hope you can consider,” He gulped. “Can you be my girlfriend?”

“Yes, we’ve just met again but we’ve known each other since young,” I smiled. “So yes, I would love to be your girl friend.”

He jumped and shouted “Yes!” non-stop. His voice was so loud that I had to cover his mouth to keep him quiet. When he calmed down, he looked deep into my eyes again and said, “I’m glad you agreed.”

With that we said our goodbyes for the second time and he kissed my lips gently and we both laughed. “I’m so happy!” He exclaimed. “Me too!” I agreed. “Now go! It’s late,” I ordered him.

“Oh my god! Seriously?” Ya Tou, Xiao Man, and Xiao Xun squealed in unison.

“Seriously.” I assured them.

“That was fast Gui,” Xiao Man muttered.

“But we’ve known each other for the rest of our lives! So it’s okay. Plus, don’t you guys want me to be happy?” I asked, and gave them the sweetest smile I could give.

“Of course, we want to!” Xiao Xun answered, almost immediately. She was fully informed about Aaron, now that she’s one of us, she had to know everything.

“Oh, so XX’s knows?” I asked, acting surprised.

“Of course, silly!” Ya Tou answered. “But, does Wang Zi know?”

I looked at them with my eyes full of guilt. I haven’t said anything about it. “I’m g-g-go-n-na-gonna t-t-tell him s-s-soo-soon,” I stuttered.

The three eyed me suspiciously. Okay, maybe not soon. Or never! “I can’t tell him!” I finally confessed.

The girls gave me a “why? look”. “I don’t know. I’m afraid. Maybe he’ll think that I was only using him to forget Aaron.”

The girls gave me an “Are you? Look.” “No! I don’t know! Maybe! But! But I like him a lot!” I said. “Would you guys please stop torturing me?”

“We have a plan,” Xiao Man and Ya Tou said.
