Joey (Bernice Liu) sits alone in an outdoor café A cool autumn wind blows, rustling more leaves to the ground. She glances around and sets down her coffee. It has been over two years since she left Hong Kong. Still, her memories didn't come back and she can't be sure whether her true love is Ah Nin (Frankie Lam) or Sam (Ellesmere Choi). "I thought I'd let time solve the situation, but it seems that the only thing that's changing is my age!" she sighs. Abruptly, she feels a warm hand tapping her shoulder. Joey's heart races and she wonders whether her true love has come to England to find her. She turns around and is disappointed to see a girl smiling at her. "You are?"
The girl gives a suprise expression and says, "Joey, don't you remember me? I'm Mandy. We met three years ago when I was discussing some business with "Ka Yan" company."
Joey scratches her head and thinks. "Mandy..." she pauses, "Are you the girl who saw me throw a cup of water in Chris's face?"
Mandy (Myolie Wu) smiles, "Yes! Finally, you remember me. Speaking of Chris (Frankie), how are you two?" She jokes and pulls out a chair to sit with Joey, "Have you guys gotten married yet? If you did already, I'm really mad because I was one of the first people to sense the romantic tension between the two of you! If you haven't yet, then I expect to be invited whenever the wedding is."
"Wait. Are you saying that Chris and I had something going back then?"
"Definitely. He was so obviously in love with you! In fact, I told him that I wasn't his 'cup of tea,' but the person who is though, was nearby, meaning you, of course."
"No, we're not together."
"That's strange. I would have thought that you guys would have gotten together by now. What happened?"
"Well, I got into a car accident and lost all of my memories. There were two people, one of them was Chris, who claimed to be my boyfriend at the time of the accident. However, I can't remember who that person is, so I left Hong Kong because I was unsure and didn't want to be unfair to anyone."
"Let me ask you this, how do you feel when you're around Chris?"
"He upsets me because he's always standing in my way! I remember that I used to dislike him a lot. Before I left Hong Kong, I remember that we had dinner once and our taste was very similar. In fact, we got along well and the feeling is nice. I feel comfortable around him."
"How do you feel around the other guy who claims to be your lover?"
"When I'm with Sam, the feeling is somewhat forced. He's nice to me, but I don't feel anything when we're together."
"So you're saying that you feel sparks around Chris?"
"I wouldn't call it sparks, but I do feel something."
"Then why don't you give him a chance and be with him?"
"Because I don't know if he's truly the one that I love or whether it is really Sam. I just know that the person who I loved back then did a lot for me and we went through many obstacles to be together."
"Joey, love isn't about who gives up what or who's wrong and right. It's about 'feeling.'"
"Feeling?"
"Yes, as long as you're with 'that person,' you will feel it in your heart."
"I do feel something when I'm with Chris, but..."
"You can't keep hiding and running away from the problem. If you do, it won't be fair to anyone, especially you. If you keep waiting, they will find someone else and then you'll be alone. When you do get your memories back, it won't matter anymore because it'll be too late."
Joey rests her head on her hand and thinks about what Mandy said. "You're right, Mandy. Love can't be calculated in terms of gains and sacrifices. It is about the 'feeling.' Even if there was a person who did everything for me in the past, but if I do not feel anything for him anymore and we're together, then it won't be fair to him or me. I've been too silly." She takes Mandy's hand and squeezes it. "Thank you, I really appreciate what you said. I won't run away from the situation anymore. I will return to Hong Kong and face it."
