“Yoochunnie!” Jaejoong wailed, but it ended completely when his phone vibrated again. He could no longer wail because Yunho’s new text message made him grin like crazy. It said, [I’ll see you at ‘Timeless’ at five. It doesn’t matter what you wear because my eyes will only see you.]
Se7en and Yoochun rolled their eyes at Jaejoong’s dreamy grin.
“You never answered me question, Hyung. Are you and Kim Junsu official?”
“I…guess so.”
“That means ‘yes,’” the youngest clarified. It was a statement, not a question.
“Yes,” Yoochun nodded a little.
“Good! Umma will be so proud of you! I’m proud to have your old aggressive self back too!”
“‘Aggressive’?” Yoochun raised an eyebrow at him.
“Yeah, you can be very aggressive and bossy…at times,” Se7en smiled innocently. He needed to change the subject to avoid having to eat steak again tonight. “So…Junsu doesn’t mind anymore?”
Note to self: Always talk about Junsu when you want to distract Yoochun.
“No, I’m sure he still minds,” Yoochun spoke.
“What? That jerk! I’ll go punch the rest of the shallowness out of him!” Se7en interrupted with fire in his eyes as he rolled up his sleeves.
“No, no, no!” Yoochun stopped him, rolling his baby brother’s sleeves back down. “It takes time, Se7ennie. Just give him some time. We can’t expect him to change drastically like that. It’s not normal. And at least he’s not lying to me and telling me that he doesn’t care at all.”
The two brothers glanced at Jaejoong and expected him to say something. But Jaejoong just cuddled his cell phone to his heart and skipped into Se7en’s room. The brothers chose to ignore him.
“If you say so, Hyung, but just remember, you can’t wait forever. You deserve better. Give him a couple of months, but if he’s still so shallow…”
“I know, Se7en. Don’t worry,” Yoochun assured.
Se7en smiled and nodded. Then he saw Jaejoong running out of his room with a stack of clothing. “What are you doing?”
“I’m borrowing these clothes. I need more options to play mix-and-match with for tonight’s date! You won’t be seeing me for the rest of the day. Good-bye!”
“Wait! Come back!” Se7en shouted at the door that Jaejoong had run out of.
“Se7en, just let him be,” Yoochun laughed.
“He took my favorite shirt! I have a date with Changmin tonight and I was going to wear that!” Se7en exclaimed before racing to hunt Jaejoong down.
Yoochun sat in the silent living room.
They both had dates tonight, so Yoochun won’t have to cook for them. But he still had a piece of steak left in the fridge.
Maybe…

“Wow, you’ve really improved!” Junsu complimented as he munched on the piece of juicy beef.
“I’ve had practice,” Yoochun smiled.
“Yeah, Yunho and Changmin told me. They said you kept feeding Se7en and Jaejoong steak.”
“They can blame you for that,” Yoochun laughed.
“Is it for the same reason that you were at the grocery store that day I ran back into you in Seoul?”
“Oh, no, that was coincidental. I go to that grocery store all the time because Se7en likes to go to the bookstore across the street. And it helps that the grocery store is the best place to get fresh meat and vegetables in Seoul,” Yoochun explained.
“Maybe it wasn’t a coincidence. Maybe it was fate,” Junsu shrugged as he continued to slice at the steak.
“Maybe,” the younger man smiled sweetly as he sipped at his glass of water.
“No orange juice tonight?” Junsu started another conversation.
Yoochun glanced down at his glass of clear liquid. “I ran out of orange juice.”
“I’ll go buy some for you after I finish eating.” the older man offered.
Yoochun thought about it for a moment before saying, “We could…go buy it together.”
Junsu’s chewing slowed and his hand stopped moving the knife back and forth. Yoochun noticed and just smile, “Actually, I think I might be down with a cold. You go buy it and I’ll pay you back.”
Junsu looked down guiltily. Yoochun had noticed his hesitation. “Yoochun, I’m sorry.”
“Don’t say that. You’re still in the stage of trying. It’s okay.”
“Buy me some cold medicine while you’re at it. I need to keep some in the cabinet in case Se7en or Jaejoong catch anything.”
“Where are they anyway?” Junsu was hoping to change the subject.
“Se7en is out on a date with Changmin and Jaejoong is out on a date with Yunho,” Yoochun informed proudly. Then his smile faded.
He noticed that he should have just said ‘Se7en is on a date with Changmin and Jaejoong is on a date with Yunho.’
Not, ‘Se7en is OUT on a date with Changmin and Jaejoong is OUT on a date with Yunho.’
Junsu had stopped eating again and was looking down guiltily. “Do you…want to go out tonight? Yunho was telling me about a really good restaurant called ‘Timeless’…”
That statement struck another wrong cord in the melody of their relationship.
‘Timeless.’
Their relationship wasn’t ‘Timeless’. It was one of ‘Time’.
They were still in the stage of ‘trying’ to maintain a relationship. But with Time, if Junsu continued to be so shallow, if Yoochun couldn’t take it anymore and gave up, then…that was it. It would be over. Everything would be over.
“No, it’s okay,” Yoochun quickly replied with another one of his smiles. He knew Junsu was just offering because of guilt. Junsu wouldn’t be comfortable if they went out.
Yoochun understood that Junsu had done a great job that day at the park. Junsu really forced himself to act like he didn’t mind, but Yoochun knew better.
“Yoochun…” Junsu murmured, unsure of his words. “I don’t deserve you.”
Yoochun felt like cooing at Junsu’s soft and sad features. He smiled gently, “Maybe not, but I think I deserve you.”
Junsu blinked and raised his head to look into Yoochun’s eyes. He saw the love and couldn’t control the smile that formed on his own lips. “Thank you.”
“You can thank me by finishing the steak and then running down to a store to buy me orange juice. As my boyfriend, you need to remember that I have a strong addiction to orange juice.”
Junsu chuckled and nodded. “Note to self: A good boyfriend will never let you live a minute without orange juice.’

“Holy Blue Dolphins! This is the cutest thing in the world!” Yoochun squealed as he picked up the glass figurine of a dolphin.
Junsu looked around and saw people staring at them. But they weren’t staring because of Yoochun’s scar. Yoochun had his hat on and his hair had grown longer in the past month so it easily covered his face.
And Junsu was getting embarrassed by the stares because his boyfriend had caught a lot of attention by squealing like a little girl!
“Are you sure you’re not a girl in disguise?” he stood close to Yoochun and whispered.
Yoochun rolled his eyes. “Stop being weird.”
“You hit a pretty high note so I was just making sure,” Junsu shrugged innocently.
“Isn’t this just the cutest thing in the world?” Yoochun shoved the figurine in Junsu’s face.
“You called me the ‘cutest thing’ in the world yesterday. Should I be jealous of this…fish?” Junsu eyed the figurine.
“It’s a crystal dolphin!” Yoochun defended. “And I called you the cutest ‘person,’ not ‘thing’.”
Junsu laughed and took the figurine from his boyfriend’s hand. “Fine, now let’s go pay for this.”
“You don’t have to…”
“It’s our one month anniversary present,” Junsu started to walk to the cashier.
Yoochun followed behind, smiling sweetly to himself.
Then his smile faded. Shoot, what was he supposed to buy Junsu for their one month anniversary?
■■■■■
“What is this?”
“It’s too last minute to buy you anything so I thought I’d make you a grand meal for our one month anniversary!” Yoochun announced. He was standing next to the table with both hands clasped together and the apron (‘look on the bright side’) still around his less scrawny body.
“This doesn’t count! You cook me a grand meal every day!” Junsu complained.
“Don’t let your employees see you whine like that,” Yoochun casually tucked his long hair behind his ears and sat down. “Now eat. I sent Se7en and Jaejoong away so you won’t have to fight them for food tonight.”
“Wrong, Changmin and Yunho are the ones who always fight me for food to present it all to their ‘Queens’.”
“My brother is not a queen,” Yoochun chuckled.
“Changmin treats him like one,” Junsu began to pick up his chopsticks.
“That’s true,” Yoochun laughed.
They enjoyed the rest of dinner with casual conversation and a little sweet talk to spice up the dishes that were a little too salty.
