“You’re standing too close. My arm keeps hitting you.”
“That’s okay!” Junsu grinned cheekily.
Yoochun rolled his eyes, but ended up laughing anyway. “You need to stop picking up bad habits from the other four.”
“Is flirting with my boyfriend a bad habit?”
“It’s a crime,” Yoochun retorted sarcastically. He was rewarded with the sound of Junsu’s laugh.
“The meal still doesn’t count as an anniversary present, you know?”
“What? But you ate everything! I even learned to cook more meat dishes! It’s more difficult than it looks because I’m a vegetarian!” the younger man tried to defend.
“Nope, still doesn’t count,” Junsu turned his head from left to right.
“Fine, what present do you want?” the slightly taller man surrendered.
“Hmm…a kiss?”
Yoochun nearly dropped the sponge and plate in his hands. “W…what?”
“We’ve been dating for a month. I used to kiss my other half on the third date.”
“Um…well, I’m…uh…it’s just…I mean…what if…what if the others come home and walk in…”
“Oh, please, I’ve walked in on them making out before!”
“What? Se7en and Changmin are already making out?” Yoochun’s eyes went wide.
“Calm down! Calm down! No ‘making out’. It was just a kiss, a peck on the lips. It was their first kiss, two days ago, in Changmin’s new clinic,” Junsu tried to allay the protective brother.
“Oh, okay, that’s not bad then.”
“What do you mean it’s ‘not bad’? We got together at the same time they did, but they’re already kissing…”
“Pecking,” Yoochun corrected.
“Fine, ‘pecking’. I can’t let the kid get ahead of me! If we start making out now then…”
“Is this some kind of competition?” the taller man exclaimed.
“Sort of,” the shorter man shrugged.
“Junsu!”
“Okay! Kidding!” he raised both hands up in defense. “I just want a kiss…or a peck for our one month. Please? I mean, you don’t have to kiss me. I’ll kiss you.”
“What’s the difference?”
“I move and you don’t.”
Yoochun wasn’t sure if he wanted to laugh or be annoyed. They were standing at the sink, only halfway through with the dishes. Not exactly romantic.
His front was towards the sink and Junsu stood next to him, their upper arms and hips touching (because Junsu was standing so close). Junsu was standing to his right, meaning he’d be kissing the right side of Yoochun’s face.
Yoochun shifted his eyes so he could see Junsu’s pleading face. He wanted to laugh.
“Okay, fine,” he tried to sound reluctant.
Junsu did a little cute dance before standing with his back straight to look like a mature adult. He cleared his throat in a serious manner and politely said, “Thank you.”
Yoochun tried not to laugh as his head and body continued to face the sink. He stopped scrubbing the plate and closed his eyes, waiting…
He felt the kiss on his right cheek and opened his eyes. But instead of pulling away after the peck to the cheek, Junsu’s head remained close (his chin resting on Yoochun’s shoulder).
Yoochun turned his head slightly to look into Junsu’s eyes. Junsu smiled innocently (or failed to) before moving in to capture Yoochun’s lips.
Yoochun couldn’t decide whether to concentrate on his racing heart, the heat on his face (would his head explode?), or the soft lips that were kissing his own.
He didn’t have long to decide because the door suddenly burst open and four bad-timers came racing in. Yoochun quickly jumped away while Junsu glared at the four and wondered if he should start chasing them with a butcher knife.
“My poor eyes!” Se7en laughed.
“I told you we can kiss! Even your brother is doing it!” Changmin exclaimed.
“‘Kissing’! Not ‘doing it’! Just ‘kissing’!” Yoochun shouted, hoping the volume of his voice could defend his pride.
“Oh, please, we’re already passed the kissing!” Jaejoong scoffed.
“Joongie, too much information!” Yunho tugged at his boyfriend’s sleeve.
“Passed the kissing? How?” Se7en questioned.
“Se7en!” Yoochun lectured. Se7en’s lips turned into a cute pout.
“You’ll find out after we’ve dated for another month,” Changmin comforted the youngest.
“You won’t be alive in another month if you try anything,” Yoochun glared at Changmin.
“Don’t you have someone else to worry about?” Changmin raised an eyebrow at him.
Yoochun glanced at Junsu (who was waving innocently at him with a cheeky grin) and blushed. “I…am going to finish washing the dishes. The rest of you get out of my kitchen.”
“I was helping…” Junsu began.
“You’ve helped enough,” Yoochun’s eyes shifted from Junsu’s smirk to the four giggling idiots.
“Very well, to prevent your head from exploding, I’ll take these four out to dessert. Do you want me to bring something back for you?” Junsu offered.
“Or you can have him for dessert,” Jaejoong chirped.
“Joongie!” Yunho gasped, fearing that Yoochun might hurt his love.
“Okay, okay, we’re done. His head looks like a tomato. Let’s go!” Jaejoong followed the laughing Se7en and Changmin out of the kitchen. Yunho gave Yoochun a sweet smile (hoping to bribe Yoochun into forgiving Jaejoong) and walked out as well.
“Aren’t you going to go with them?” Yoochun asked the remaining guest in his kitchen.
“It’s not a bad idea, you know? I really don’t mind being ‘dessert’.”
Yoochun’s eyes widened. His red, embarrassed face was a contrast to Junsu’s snarky grin. In his failed attempt to act angry, Yoochun shouted, “I hate dessert!”

“Jaejoong and Yunho aren’t really moving in with each other? I mean, it makes sense since it’s been two months…”
“No, it was just a misunderstanding. Jaejoong was just helping Yunho buy new furniture and design an apartment for Yunho’s parents. They’re moving back to Seoul.”
“Oh, I would have thought…”
“Yeah, I can see why you would think that. But trust me; it’s all talk and no walk. Yunho spilled the truth to me last week. Remember a month ago when Jaejoong said that they’re already ‘passed the kissing’ stage?”
“Uh-huh,” Yoochun recalled as he played with the end of Junsu’s long scarf. The couch was comfy, but he found it more comforting to lean against his boyfriend.
“Apparently, all that means was that they were cuddling in bed…fully clothed.”
Yoochun burst into a laugh. “I guess that does count as being ‘passed the kissing’.”
“Uh-huh,” Junsu hummed as he wrapped his arms tighter around Yoochun’s waist. He’d forced some weight onto Yoochun’s skin and bones in the past two months, but it didn’t seem to affect the younger man’s waist line. “How can you put on so much weight, but still have such a slim waist?”
“I go to the gym. I can’t let myself go out of shape and have you dump me. As if I’m not flawed enou…” Yoochun stopped talking and mentally slapped himself. They’d tried to avoid this topic for the past two months of dating.
Outings were kept to minimal (not that they didn’t enjoy just spending time with each other in the comfort of their homes) and when they did go out, Yoochun automatically had his hat on.
He still hadn’t gotten a haircut, but Junsu wasn’t (ever) going to make a comment about Yoochun’s physical being.
Even more saddening, it was like Junsu was keeping Yoochun a secret. All of his friends, except Changmin and Yunho, thought Junsu was still single after the breakup with Heebon. All the employees in his company were grateful that he was no longer the bad tempered boss, but they couldn’t suspect that Junsu had changed because of love…because they didn’t know that their boss had a boyfriend.
Junsu sighed. Some things just can’t be avoided forever.
“It’s 12:01 a.m.,” he murmured, eyes on the clock.
“Yeah,” Yoochun replied softly, hoping the awkwardness would fade soon.
“That means today is our two month anniversary.”
Yoochun glanced at the dolphin watch Junsu had bought him for his birthday. It was orange, childish, and sweet. There was both time and date on it.
“Yeah,” he murmured again, wondering how he can make the awkwardness go away.
“Happy Two Months Anniversary and thank you so, so much for being so patient with me,” Junsu whispered against Yoochun’s left ear.
For some reason, Yoochun wanted to cry.
