???: hey Qiao En heard that our GM is a guy leh…
Qiao En (teasing): so? Will he become your next idol Ms Lai Wei Ru??
Wei Ru: Whey…but really heard he’s very handsome leh…
Very soon, a voice was heard asking them to stand in line and welcome the GM. A young, charming handsome young man stepped out of the car that was parked just outside the entrance. He stepped out of his car and walked towards the entrance. When Qiao En saw him approaching, her eyes widen big enough for her eye balls to drop out.
Qiao En (POV): HIM??
Ming Dao (POV): Is her...
Introduction was done when all the higher management staff was in the meeting room. The moment Ming Dao’s uncle mentioned that Qiao En is his AGM, he was stunned. They never had any contact ever since the day she sent him that sms some years ago. He extended his hand out,
Ming Dao (smiling): Nice meeting you. Ms. Chen.
Qiao En (hiding the awkwardness): Nice meeting you…
At night when she went home, sitting on the sofa eyes were watching TV but her mind was somewhere else… After seeing Ming Dao today, she doesn’t seem to be herself. All the past seems to be flashing across her mind. The times she had with Ming Dao in the university until the day she sent him that message and deleted all his contacts away…
Xiao Qiao and the rest saw her in daze, was rather stunned too because TV is now showing her favourite. Usually she will be the one holding on tight to the TV control to prevent them from switching channel, but today…
Xiao Qiao, Wei Ru and Xiao Jie waved hard in front of her but she still didn’t see her.
Finally…
All (raised their voice): CHEN QIAO EN!!
Qiao En (finally back to senses): what lah! Don’t have to shout right??
Xiao Jie: What are you thinking about? So engrossed!
Wei Ru: don’t tell me…you are.. thinking of him?
Qiao En (immediate reaction): RUBBISH!
Xiao Qiao: OH yah! Today is the first day your new GM reports for work right?
Xiao Jie (curious): Handsome not??
Wei Ru: Guess who’s he?
Xiao Jie and Xiao Qiao: How would we know? Say lah…
Wei Ru: Is Ming Dao…
Xiao Jie & Xiao Qiao (stunned): You mean…is that Lin Ming Dao???
Wei Ru nodded her head.
Now they finally understand why Qiao En is behaving like this tonight.
Qiao En: Xiao Jie mind getting me a glass of coke? I want big one…
Xiao Jie: Me again???
Qiao En (widen her eyes): THEN?
Xiao Jie pouted her mouth and left for kitchen.
Qiao En (POV): I am someone that’s tough to handle, not pretty, not smart, not gentle and not sweet enough. Probably because of this that’s why Ming Dao doesn’t want her…
Xiao Jie did strongly ask Qiao En to give up on him but Xiao Qiao think otherwise.. she hopes that Qiao En will fight for her own happiness…but in the end there’s nothing in return.
Very soon Xiao Jie came back with a big glass of coke and really wonders why she’s able to drink such a big glass of coke in a gulp.
Xiao Jie: Qiao En, can you really forget him?
Qiao En: Why bring this up again?
Seeing that’s no reply from her, Xiao Jie kept persist on the question, she wants Qiao En to reply..
Qiao En (firmly): I have forgotten about it…he’s just a boss of mine now…nothing personal but work…
After work, Ming Dao returned home giving his mother his usual sweet smile, having dinner and watching TV with her until she’s tired and returned to her room he then proceed back to his room.
He’s just broken up with his girlfriend in a very peaceful manner. Then did he realize that their love was strong enough to go through thick and thin. At then, Qiao En was the first person he thought of. He thought he would never ever thought of this woman again because she’s the one who wants to cut off all contacts with him. He doesn’t think he should be bothered with her anymore.
Ming Dao (POV): Maybe…we really have nothing to do with each other anymore…
In the past, they used to be very close.. close until whenever someone needs to find either one, once saw Qiao En or Ming Dao they will be able to find them. That was just like their world… All of the sudden for don’t know what reason she started to avoid him, no matter how hard he cracked his head also can’t find out the reason. Until there was one day, Qiao En finally confessed to him…that was then he understand or maybe he understood all along that she likes him…
Perhaps he’s not sure what he has said or done that created a misunderstanding between them but he has never thought of getting into a relationship with Qiao En before. A few years back which was also their final semester in the university, she sent him the message… “If there’s no chance at all, isn’t it time to step out of the grey boundary? Ming Dao, perhaps right from the start is impossible for us to be together, using “good friends” as an excuse; you and I will be tired. What I want to say is just treat it as nothing happened; we have never known each other before…”
Just like today, the moment their eyes met she looked away…she gave him the feeling that she can’t be bothered…
Ming Dao (POV): We can no longer be the same don’t we…?
