In the room..
Ming Dao: eh.. are you done.
Qiao En (came out from the changing room): Can you stop hurrying?
Ming Dao (looking at her from head to toe): Wah… (Focused on her tummy and rubbed it) your tummy seems to have grown bigger hor?
Qiao En (sighed): Ya loh..
Ming Dao (grins): luckily this gown I bought is meant for pregnant woman… used to see you wearing rather loose outfit.. now finally can see how big it is.
Qiao En (hit him): Shit you..
Ming Dao: ok lah.. let’s go bah.. Ma is waiting for us.
Qiao En: Orh..
They left the room with his hand around her waist. After which three of them left for the D&D. When they reached, they headed straight to the ballroom.
Qiao En: I am going to the ladies; you go in with Ma first.
Ming Dao: You can manage?
Qiao En: Yah lah!!
Ming Dao: See you inside then.
The secretaries were keeping their eyes on the door of the ballroom guessing if they will see Ming Dao with Qiao En. To their disappointment, they saw him with his mother.
Sophia: Ah… GM came with his mother ah.
Joe: Yah loh… haix
About 10 minutes later, they saw Qiao En entering with her light pink halter neck dress.
Joe: Hey!! See.. is AGM..
Guy 1: Wah sey… so sexy!!
Guy 2: Yah!! Never knew she had such a good figure..
Sophia (hitting their head): you guys are drooling huh? Go after her lah!
There wasn’t much movement between Ming Dao and Qiao En as he’s busy associating around with his uncle. As a new director, he should associate more with others so that in future when he needs their help, they might be able to help him. Those guys from the senior management surrounded Qiao En.
Seeing that the time is up, Ming Dao and others returned to their seats.
Ming Dao (turned to Qiao En who’s seated next to him): you were surrounded by a lot of guys huh?
Qiao En (grins): Jealous?
Ming Dao: don’t have to because you are already mine!
Emcee: Welcome ladies and gentleman to our 30th anniversary dinner. Our former and present directors started this business. Now let’s put our hands together to welcome our director to say something.
Director: Good evening distinguished guests and staffs of Lins Holdings. Today marks the 30th anniversary of our company, it has come so far with the hard work of the management, staff and supports from our clients, suppliers and others. Would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you. Ever since my brother passed away, I have been working hard for the company, I am getting old so is time for me to pass on the role to the next person. Let me announce that with effect of next month, my nephew – Ming Dao will be taking over my position, as director and Ms. Chen Qiao En will be promoted to GM. Shall we welcome our new director on the stage?
With a round of applause, Ming Dao stood up adjusted his blazer and went onto the stage.
Ming Dao (smiling): Good evening everyone! Thanks for giving me your support all these while. With this promotion, I hope to have your support and cooperation so that we can bring the company to greater heights. Promotions given to individuals are based on their capabilities definitely with no strings attached. Of course, I won’t disappoint my father and uncle. I need to thank my uncle for teaching me so many things during my work in Lins Holdings. Thank my mother and lastly my wife..
When they heard him mentioning wife, everyone gave a “woah” sound. Qiao En was shocked when she heard that.
Ming Dao: being married close to two years, she has been a very understanding wife and of course is a great helper. She gave me encouragement when I faced some hike-ups in my work. She has been standing by my side without fail and never complains. She’s indeed a very capable wife, be it at home or at work. (paused for a while) curious to know who’s this woman that’s able to tie me down for the rest of my life?
All: Yes…
Ming Dao (walked towards Qiao En with mike in his hand): My wife is none other than the current AGM – Ms. Chen Qiao En. (extended his hand out for her and walked back together)
All: Woah!
Sophia: Wah sey! Married already sia!!!
Joe: Yah Loh! We are here still suspecting if they are dating..
Guys: Our dreams are shattered…
Sophia: goodness… they really kept real mum about it.
Ming Dao (hand around Qiao En’s waist): we kept our marriage underground because was hoping that this won’t affect work. Choosing to disclose now not because of our promotion but because she’s pregnant.
Joe (stunned): Pregnant? Faint…
Ming Dao: Don’t wish to hear people talking about it so we decided to disclose it. Though she’s been promoted, she won’t be resuming her duties until she has given birth. Myself will cover all duties until she’s back to work. Since we are going to enter into our 2 years marriage soon, shall take this opportunity to take our wedding vows again right in front of everyone.
Qiao En was taken aback and now she realized why did Ming Dao ask her to remove her wedding ring this morning. Ming Dao even invited a pastor to the dinner and invited him to the stage.
Qiao En (whisper to him): Are you serious?
Ming Dao: yah!
Qiao En: Eh..
Pastor: Mr. Lin Ming Dao, are willing to take Ms. Chen Qiao En as your wife, taking care, loving her, standing by her side no matter rich or poor, healthy or sickly?
Ming Dao (looking at Qiao En lovingly): I do..
Pastor: Ms. Chen Qiao En, are willing to take Mr. Lin Ming Dao as your husband, taking care, loving him, standing by his side no matter rich or poor, healthy or sickly?
Qiao En (with a smile and loving look): I do.
Pastor: Please exchange your wedding rings.
After putting the wedding ring for each other,
Pastor: Mr. Lin, you may kiss your wife now.
Knowing that there are many people around, despite knowing that Qiao En has given him signal not to kiss her, he leaned forward with his hand around her waist tightened.
Ming Dao: I love you, Qiao En. (leaned forward and gave her a passionate kiss)
A loud applause was heard seeing that them kissed. Qiao En broke the kiss blushing.
Emcee: Oh.. that was a very romantic wedding vow taking. Shall we put our hands together and wish Mr. and Mrs. Lin a blissful marriage and stay lovingly always.
With the round of applause, Ming Dao and Qiao En went back to the seats hand in hand.
Director: Ming Dao, never knew that you had planned that.
Mrs. Lin: Finally..
Qiao En (whisper to him): why didn’t you tell me?
Ming Dao: If I had told you, this won’t be a surprise right?
Qiao En: Hmmp…
At other side..
Sophia & Joe: Wah… so romantic..
Joe: Never knew they were married for 2 years and AGM is pregnant…
Sophia: Ya loh..
After the dinner, Qiao En and Ming Dao went home happily. They had finally disclosed their relationship. When they first got married, the wedding vow made by Ming Dao wasn’t filled with his love for Qiao En but only liking. That’s why he arranged for a re-taking of wedding vow during the anniversary dinner. He wants to declare his love for her in front of everyone. Qiao En accepted his love for her and was touched that nearly shed tear. From the vow, she knows Ming Dao really loves her because she can felt it. Both of them are successful in career as well as having a happy family life. They will be looking forward to see their new born-baby in a few more months’ time.
