My Lovely Kim Jaejoong [COMPLETED]

by imie youngwoong

Chapter 1

Jaejoong looked down at his own hands, thinking deep. This was not what he had hoped for when he chose to continue his life with a guy named Jung Yunho. His tears streamed down his cheeks. I’m doing it this for Umma…

He knew that his mother would always made the right choice for him. His mother knows him too well, and he was very sure that she knows who is the best person for her own son. However, since Jaejoong and Yunho were married six months ago, the other guy had never stopped torturing him mentally and emotionally. Yunho rarely ever eats meals that Jaejoong had cooked, and sometimes he could feel that Yunho purposely got home late to avoid him. Jaejoong wondered what he has done wrong.

He wanted to tell his mother about him and Yunho, but he was afraid that his mother would only think that she had made a bad choice for his son and blame herself. He obviously did not want that to happen, especially after the blow that his mother had received from the death of their father. Plus, as Yunho’s lawfully wedded wife, he should guard the secrets of their marriage, whether it is sweet or bitter. He did not want Yunho’s reputation to be marred by the words that came out from his mouth.

Changmin, Yunho’s curious and smart little brother had always asked about Yunho and their marriage, and whether they were really happy. Jaejoong was worried if that boy sensed that he and Yunho were not getting on well, and told Yunho’s parents about it. For that reason, Jaejoong tried his hardest to make out stories about their happiness when he was asked. It pained him to no end that he had to lie to the people that he cared so much, but it was necessary. Yunho needed him to be his supporter. In the eyes of their family members, they were the ultimate couple, visually suitable with matching personalities. Jaejoong’s tears flowed harder down, drenching his hands which were holding his face. When will these lies ever going to stop? Jaejoong asked himself. Only God knows how painful it is to be living with a guy named Jung Yunho, and he wondered himself why he was still together with him.

Now, he saw Yunho walking with another guy. Jaejoong was loading the groceries into the back of the car when he saw them holding hands as they walked out of the mall. They looked so happy, Yunho laughing at something the man had said as the other man clinging ever so closely on Yunho’s arm. Jaejoong looked at the other guy’s face, trying hard to remember it. He is so beautiful…he thought to himself as he stood there beside his car, his beanie and sunnies masking him off perfectly from Yunho.

Jaejoong could not help but stared at them until they drove away in Yunho’s car. He finally sat down on the seat, one hand holding the car key and the other holding his hard beating heart. It hurts so much seeing Yunho with other man, especially when the man is as beautiful as that one is. He knew that he was not as beautiful as the guy Yunho was with. If they were ever to be compared, he knew by heart that he would not win.

Why am I accusing Yunho like this?

Jaejoong wiped his tears, and reminded himself that he should not be doing this, he should have asked Yunho first before making such an assumption. Maybe the guy is one of Yunho’s workmate, and their relationship is not as what Jaejoong thought it is. He started the engine and drove out of the parking lot. Throwing away his sadness, he tried focusing on what he was supposed to do. Tonight, Yunho’s parents were coming to visit. He needed to get back home and prepared a good meal for his in-laws.

Suddenly, his heart felt a tinge of happiness. At least, his in-laws love him and treat him like their own son. They were always so nice to Jaejoong, even before Jaejoong was married to Yunho. Changmin had often told him how jealous he is with Jaejoong because his parents treat Jaejoong better than they treat him. Jaejoong smiled thinly when he thought of that silly boy. He loved the Jungs so much like they are his own flesh and blood. Because of that, he could not bear the thought of ever breaking their hearts by telling them he was not happy with their son. He was determined. He was going to accept all the games that Yunho is going to throw at him for the sake of both their families. He knew how his in-laws put such a high hope on Yunho and him, and he could not bring himself to shatter their dreams. He tried to reassure himself. Yunho will change one day…

---

Yunho pressed the honk repeatedly, frustration boiling in his blood. The car in front of him was moving at a snail-pace, testing his patience. He felt like swearing at the driver, but he just knew that a fight would only further slow things down. He was already late, as he glanced at his watch. It was 7.30 p.m., and his parents were going to arrive in another hour. He could almost cry in desperation now. Shit, just move it man! He said to himself as he honked again.

It was important that he did not arrive home late, or his ears will be fried by his Umma’s nagging again. He was sure that Jaejoong was already home preparing the meal, so he was not worried at all about the meals and dinner preparation. Jaejoong had told him through text message that he was going to buy groceries for tonight. What he was worried at this moment was whether he could save his own ass from getting lectured to death by his parents.

His thought suddenly reverted to Jaejoong. That man, is he even a man? He is so patient…Yunho wondered inside. He sighed deeply. How could Jaejoong even stand living with him, when he was purposely making life a nightmare for him?

He knew that he had deliberately did things to make Jaejoong hates him, and that was his intention all along since the day they were married. But that guy was still holding on, every time Yunho blew off his top and raged with anger, Jaejoong would asked what he had done wrong, trying his best to apologize even when it was clear that it was not his fault. Yunho was aware that Jaejoong tried so hard to get in his good favor and win his heart, but unfortunately, his heart belonged to someone else.

Yunho had agreed to marry Jaejoong because of his parents’ wishes, but he could not force himself to fall in love with the man. He did not know Jaejoong, heck, he did not even know the guy’s full name. And he did not want to start knowing Jaejoong, because his heart, mind and soul had been given to Heechul, the love of his life since his high school days.

Because of Jaejoong, Heechul had once asked for a break-up from him. He did not want to lose Heechul, so he had reassured the man of his loyalty and his undivided love. Jaejoong was not the one he chose, but was chosen for him, so it means that he was not worthy of Yunho’s love, even a bit. It was good enough that Yunho had agreed to marry him, but he swore to himself that his whole being was only Heechul’s, for eternity.

Yunho arrived home at exactly 8.20 p.m. He saw Jaejoong’s Mercedes parked in front of the house and he let out a relieved sigh when he did not see his parents’ BMW. He knew that if he was quick, he could get ready in no time. He rushed out of the car, and he immediately saw Jaejoong’s smiling face waiting at the door. He sighed.

“Welcome home, Yunnie..” Jaejoong’s soft voice touched his ears, as his hands reached out to get Yunho’s briefcase. He ignored the man, walking past him and up the stairs to his room. He could sense Jaejoong’s disappointed gaze on his back.

You are one hell of a guy, Jaejoong…

--

“Yunho, Jaejoong…don’t you guys want to go for a honeymoon? It has been 6 months since your wedding, I haven’t heard any honeymoon’s plan from both of you. Yunho, take Jaejoong to a nice place. Don’t be so busy with your work...I feel so sorry for our Jaejoong.” Mrs Jung said as they were enjoying their dinner. Yunho, who was seated beside Jaejoong, continue to gobble down his food, pretending to hear nothing. Jaejoong’s heart skipped a beat at his in-law’s words, and seeing that Yunho was not going to respond, he replied guiltily.

“It’s alright Umma…honeymoon can wait. I’m happy being here as it is.”

Yunho, who was chomping on his food, suddenly added, “I want to go for a honeymoon too, but there’s so many thing I need to do right now, what with that big project in Ilsan that needed my attention. I promise after I am done with the project, I will take Jaejoong to someplace that is nice. Maybe to Paris or Venice. Me and Jaejoong have already discussed about this, and he agreed that we should put it on hold. Right, Joongie?”

Jaejoong nodded dutifully as he smiled towards his mother-in-law. Mrs Jung smiled back, relieved when she heard their reply.

“Umma, Yun-hyung is only making excuses…poor Jae-hyung…he never goes anywhere after he was married to Yun-hyung...Hyung-ah, you’re really bad at treating your wife properly…sheesshhhh…you shouldn’t even get married in the first place..” Changmin’s smartass mouth struck a sensitive cord in both Yunho and Jaejoong. Jaejoong looked down at his plate, while Yunho glared sharply at his younger brother.

“Mind your own business, Changmin. Or you want my knuckles to shut you up, huh?”

“Haaa…that’s means I’m right…you are a bad husband..that’s why you got so angry at my words…you know what they said, truths hurt..” his astute words pricked at all the right places. Yunho looked piercingly at his brother again, but Changmin pretended not to notice his brother’s stare, before he felt his feet getting kicked by Yunho.

“Arghhh!! Hyung! What’s up with the physical violence?? Umma, look at Yun-hyung…he kicked me under the table…” Changmin pouted as he rubbed on his feet. Yunho smiled triumphantly, sticking out his tongue at Changmin.

“Yunho, Changmin…don’t fight at the dining table..aigooo, so childish...” their mother said softly before adding thoughtfully, “ But Yunho-ya, what your brother said is true…you can afford to take Jaejoong for a holiday, so go…don’t let others say that my son does not love his wife, and does not know how to treat his wife properly…”
“Ahhh, who cares what others say? Like I said, it’s not like I don’t want to go, it’s just that I was a bit busy now…and Umma, honeymoon is not that important…we can still be together here at home…” Yunho replied as he shifted uncomfortably in his seat. This topic was getting on his nerve…

Jaejoong saw Yunho’s reaction and he felt the need to back his husband up.

“That’s right, Umma…I feel so happy staying at home like this with Yunho…right Yunnie?” Yunho just nodded as he spooned some gravy into Jaejoong’s plate, to give the appearance that they were a happy couple.

Changmin huffed from the other side of the table. “Jae-hyung, just say that Yun-hyung is thrifty...”

“Changmin, don’t start it again, okay?” Yunho said threateningly, shooting Changmin a murderous stare.

“Tskk..Yun-hyung got so much money, but he keeps it under the bed…what a jerk…”

“Changmin!!!” Yunho shouted and kicked Changmin’s feet again, nearly choking the younger guy from the shock. Their mother just looked at Jaejoong, both smiling desperately at each other. It was chaos at the dining table for a while, before their father suddenly said in his stern voice.

“Jung Yunho! Jung Changmin! Enough!” Everybody was quiet. Mr Jung was really a force to be reckoned with, his strict yet judicious personality making him a respectable father to both of his sons.

“Does Yunho always got home late?”, Mr. Jung suddenly asked to his son-in-law. Yunho almost choked when he heard his father’s question. He glanced at Jaejoong, wondering what the guy would answer. Jaejoong looked so calm, unlike him who was almost peeing in his pants because of all the suspense.

“No, appa…sometimes he did get home late, but Yunho would always call first to tell me so I won’t be waiting…I understand that his office is quite far away, it’d take some time for him to arrive home. It’d be inevitable if he’s a little bit late, especially if there’s traffic jam…I don’t want him to rush back home...it’d be better if he just drive slowly but arrive home safely…right Yunnie?” Jaejoong smiled sweetly towards Yunho, who nodded a little too eagerly to confirm his wife’s words.

“It’s good then…I don’t like it if Yunho is taking his responsibility as a husband for granted. To be a husband is not just to provide your partner with food and shelter, but also love and care…You have to spend a lot of time together, getting to know each other’s likes and dislikes. It is not only the wife that have to be loyal to the husband, it’s a two-way relationship. Yunho, you have to take good care of Jaejoong, as we were trusted by the Kims to have their precious son in our family..and Jaejoong, if Yunho did something wrong, don’t be afraid to tell him…it goes both ways…Marriage is not for those who are selfish..it’s a shared bond between two people who had promised to take good care of each other till death.” Mr. Jung said towards Yunho and Jaejoong, who were looking down at their plate, both taking in the words and the meanings behind it.

Yunho felt guilty for his actions towards Jaejoong, but how could he stop?

Jaejoong wished that his father-in-law’s words would be a catalyst for Yunho to change the way he treats him. He wished for it with his whole heart.

He knew that the only thing he could count on was Yunho’s filial piety. Yunho never went against his parents’ wishes, and he respected both of them so much. Although he was harsh with Jaejoong, he never turned his back on his parents, and that was one of the thing that touched Jaejoong’s heart. Jaejoong had always thought that someone who is a good son to his parents would be a good person as well, and thus, he tied his hope on Yunho.

Yunho has also been treating Jaejoong’s family like his own. Jaejoong’s mother doted on Yunho, and would proudly showed Yunho off to their cousins and friends. Junsu, Jaejoong’s younger brother, absolutely adored Yunho. Yunho was even liked by his other family members.

His in-laws went home that night with the assumption that the couple was holding on fine. Jaejoong had hoped so, he did not want them to worry needlessly. He smiled to himself, at least Yunho did treat him like a wife tonight. Yunho helped him to clear off the table and washed the dishes, he even praised Jaejoong’s cooking.

Jaejoong touched his right cheek and smiled even more. What he could not forget the most was Yunho’s soft kiss as they were cleaning the kitchen.

He knew that Yunho had kissed him just to give his mother the illusion that they were happy, but he was contented nevertheless. Yunho had always treats him nicely in front of others, and he wished that it wouldn’t be long before he starts doing it when they are alone, together.

“Yunnie-ya…thank you for your compliment on my cooking just now…i’m so happy that you like what I’ve cooked…”, Jaejoong said softly, eyes searching Yunho’s smiling face. They were waving goodbyes to Yunho’s family, and just as their car got out of sight, Yunho’s smile disappeared.

“Hmm…whatever…”

His callous answer broke Jaejoong’s heart, but he continued smiling. He had changed in a blink of an eye, just like what he had thought. A wish is just a wish afterall…

Suddenly, Jaejoong remembered the thing that happened this afternoon. He wanted to ask for clarification from Yunho.

“Mmm...Yunnie-ah…can I ask you something?” Jaejoong asked before looking to his side.

Yunho was not there. He looked around, and saw Yunho already walking into the house. Jaejoong closed his eyes, took a deep but ragged breath, clenched his fists and bit his trembling lips. Yunho had just left him outside alone without telling him…

Jaejoong walked back into the house, practically dragging his heavy limbs and an even heavier heart. He climbed the stairs to their room, passing Yunho’s work room. He took a peek inside the small room, and saw Yunho already lying with his eyes closed on the couch near his desk, a blanket covering half of his body. Jaejoong sighed. He knew that he was going to sleep alone again tonight…
