She smiled at me. “No. I just came too.”
Her eyes widened in surprise as she stared at something behind me.
“Yah! What’s up with you?” I asked confused.
“Look who decided to show up to school today.” She said as she continued to stare.
“Huh?” I said as I turned around. Immediately, I rolled my eyes. Big Bang was making their way up the school steps in all their shallow glory, flashing all the girls they passed a small smile.
I watched as other boys looked at them jealously. I couldn’t blame them really. Big Bang made the school uniforms look extremely good with their perfectly styled hair and colorful sneakers. Not that I’m jealous of course. I couldn’t care less. That’s right Lily, keep living in denial!
I turned away and made my way to the front door. “C’mon, let’s go.”
“Don’t you think it’s strange?” JiEun asked in a hushed voice.
We were by our lockers then, gathering all the books we need for our classes.
“What is?”
JiEun looked at me weirdly.
“What? Do I have something on my face?” I asked as I quickly tried to wipe it off.
“Yah! Have you been living under a rock these past few years?” She yelled at me.
“Why are you yelling at me for?” I asked as I furrowed my eyebrows. Seriously, it’s simple. I said I didn’t know what she was talking about and she yelled at me. Aish, that girl…
“Lily ah, they never come to school on Monday.” JiEun said as she shook her head.
My eyes widened in realization as I finally understood what she was talking about. Really, we’re still on that topic?
“So? Do I look like I care?” I asked with a shrug.
“Well… no. But still! It’s weird!” JiEun said.
“You know, you’re making this gloomy morning gloomier for me if you keep talking about them.” I said as I looked at her.
She raised her eyebrow at me as a smile formed on her face. “Gloomy? It’s sunny outside you idiot! Yah, what happened to your eyesight?”
I stuck out my tongue at her as we made our way to class. I bumped into someone on the way. Aish, how unlucky was I?
I was about to bend down and collect my books when JiEun grabbed my arm.
“Say sorry! Hurry!” She whispered furiously in my ear.
“What?” I asked. I have yet to see the person I bumped into. Well, technically, I didn’t bump into him. He bumped into me… technically.
“Just say it!”
I looked up that very moment to see him staring at me. Who’s he you ask? Well of course, who else would it be if not the oh so sexy TaeYang? By the way, I was being sarcastic.
He smirked at me as he raised his eyebrow.
Was he waiting for an apology?
“Well, don’t you have anything to say?” He asked as his posse stood behind him.
He was short as compared to the others. I guess he’s very lucky he has them. I knew without a doubt that I could take him down with my awesome karate kick, if only he was alone…
I snorted. “Nope, I don’t think I do.”
JiEun poked my rib and I glared at her. I was hoping she could read the message in my eyes. Let me handle this!
He continued to smirk at me. “Hmm, didn’t know girls like you have bad manners.”
I raised my eyebrow at his choice of words. “Girls like me? I don’t think girls like me want to kick your ass like I do.”
And with that, I grabbed JiEun and continued my disturbed journey to class. She was looking back, bowing at them for what I said. I yanked her arm causing her to face forward.
“Yah! What the hell did you do that for?” JiEun said, well… shouted in my face. “Why did you talk to him like that?”
I huffed in annoyance. “I have no patience for him. Stupid stuck up jerk.”
“Still! He’s part of the Rich and the Beautiful! You know his father owns half of this school!”
“Yes! Exactly! His father! Not him! So why should I care?” I whispered furiously.
Class started already when Big Bang decided to finally show up. I narrowed my eyes at them as they sauntered in, making their way to the very back of the class. Even the teacher said nothing! So far, none of them had the courage to speak up to those boys. Really, do I have to do everything around here?
“Aigoo, he’s so cute!” JiEun sighed happily.
I was too busy doing my work to see who she was talking about.
“Who?” I asked.
“GD!”
I rolled my eyes. I swear, if she talks about Big Bang again, I’ll staple her lips together!
“Shut up and do your work.” I said.
When I was done, no surprise that I was the first one, I looked around the class. These eyes, why do they have to look at those boys? I watched as they laughed, paying no attention to the work in front of them. Aish, really? What was my luck? Stuck in a school with them, stuck in a class with them, bumped into one of them on the way… this day was turning into a nightmare, really…and it just started! Oh man! What did I do to deserve such a fate? Stop being dramatic, that little voice in my head said. It’s my brain! I can do whatever I want with it!
As if sensing my gaze on them, that really tall guy looked up and met my eyes. He smirked at me as he took off his cap. I rolled my eyes, trying to be as obvious as I could. They should know that not everyone would fall for them, certainly not me.
I sighed when the bell finally rang for lunch. I was standing beside my desk, waiting for JiEun when they passed by me. TaeYang bumped into me. I knew he did it on purpose.
“Yah!” I shouted at him.
He turned, a small smile on his face. He raised his eyebrow at me before turning around once again and continued walking with his posse.
I gritted my teeth in annoyance and clenched my fist. Stupid stuck up jerk!
We made our way into the lunchroom and quickly grabbed our usual seats near the window. JiEun was talking about GD again. I love her, really I do. But I can’t stand it when she talks about him. Or any of the Big Bang members for that matter. I tuned her out and observed my surrounding. I love watching people. It’s a hobby of mine. Maybe I should take it up as a career. I don’t know if I’ll earn a lot but it’s definitely fun.
Aish, these eyes of mine, why are you always looking at them? There were flocks and flocks of girls surrounding the boys. TOP had two on his lap, no surprise there. And the others were all talking to a girl, all except TaeYang. I was extremely surprised, sure he had a lot of girls around him, but he wasn’t talking to any of them. I watched as another girl approached him and sat next to him. Let’s see, what was her name again? Ah yes! Lee HaeWon. She’s part of the Rich and the Beautiful. All the girls are completely jealous of her, I’m no exception. She was really beautiful. It’s a shame though; I bet she’d be more beautiful if she fixed her attitude just a little bit. She was rotten to the core. Not to mention how fake that blond hair looks on her. She just made the expression ‘dumb blond’ all the more real.
I watched as they engaged themselves in a conversation. She seemed to be the only one he talks to apart from speaking to me today. Hmm… weird… Something fishy’s going on… oh fish! Nemo! So anyways, by fishy I mean different groups don’t really talk to each other, unless they were forced to. So it was actually weird when he talked to me this morning. I think I’d prefer it if he didn’t. But oh well, what happened already happened, no point in thinking about it…
“Yah! Did you listen to what I just said?” JiEun asked, her voice penetrating my thoughts.
“Uhh, no.” I replied truthfully. What was the point in lying? She’d just see right through me anyway.
“Aish… the project!”
“What project?”
“The project in health class!” JiEun said.
I furrowed my eyebrows at her, thinking deeply. What project in health class? We weren’t given any project!
“It’s going to be announced next week but the nurse already told me what it’s about.” JiEun stated.
“Ahhh…” I said as I nodded my head. No wonder I didn’t know…
“I don’t want to know.” I said as we made our way to our next class. “I’ll just find out next week like the rest of the class ok?”
“Alright…” JiEun said. “Just don’t freak out…”
I shook my head as I sat down. A project’s a project… Nothing to freak out about… Wait a minute, health class? Please tell me we’re not cutting people! Or talking about you know, that extremely embarrassing topic parents talk to their children when they reach puberty… you know… about the bee and stuff…
“I’ll see you tomorrow!” I said to JiEun as I waved goodbye when school ended.
“Ok! Bye!”
I sighed as I made my way home. I was spacing out again; my thoughts were beginning to wander off. I stopped myself just in time. Whew! Thank God I didn’t bump into that sign post. I looked around. There was no one. I smiled to myself. Maybe today wasn’t such a bad day… After all, I did avoid the embarrassing scene of a nose bleed…
