“You called, sir?”
Yunho’s eyes glazed deeply back onto his assistant as a soft breath escaped from either lips. “About the baby killer … keep it a secret for now.” he responded his voice smoother then usually. “Yes sir.” – “Anything else?”
Shaking his head, Yunho waved his hand slowly and the brown eyes dropped the glaze. “You are dismissed.”
▬
Happily skipping towards the phone, Jaejoong began to dial a very familiar number.
“Yuuunnnniiiieeeee.”
A chuckle was heard at the other end, as the laughter’s voice responded. “Hello Jae.” Yunho didn’t need even a second thought on whom it may, that was calling.
“So how’s work?” Jaejoong mumbled excitedly, as if he just finished a pack of sugar and was still craving for more. A sigh was heard at the word ‘work’ but still Yunho didn’t want to putdown his happy soon-to-be-husband(wife). “All’s good. Normal and what not.”
“Ah, I see. Well I made you bento since you are still probably once again starving yourself. Mind if I come down and hand it to you myself?” Jaejoong’s question put a smile on Yunho’s face as all his life he did crave for some home-made bento by his loved one.
“Nah don’t bother. I’m on my way home anyways. I’ll eat it there.” His response was quick as he was already imagining the mouth-watering food.
“Huh? What about work?”
“I’m taking my leave. There’s not much to do here anyways.”
“Oh…okay.”
“Bye.” Pressing the red phone symbol on his cell, Yunho sighed once again. His phone already back in his pocket. “Maybe getting away from work is a good thing.” Slipping on his coat, the man stood up. His hands placing his needed folders and files into his locked drawer, before closing it.
“Excuse me.”
And with that, Yunho’s head tilted upwards. “Yes?” his eyes staring at all his workers and employers in confusion. They were all standing in a new line, each of them holding a bouquet of different kinds of flowers. – And continuously Yunho stared, that was until a man in full white tux stepped out. His earlier assistant. “Sir, we would like to congratulate you on your early marriage.” he explained, his hands extending to make the flowers he carried even more visible.
“Congratulations on your wedding sir.” Everyone else then cried out.
▬
Jaejoong’s eyebrows slowly quirked. His glance deeply locked on the daydreaming hubby.
“Yunho, are you alright?” His right hand then waving in the younger’s face, causing the blank male to twitch. “What are you doing Jae?” Yunho coughed; slightly annoyed as he completely forgot what he was thinking about. Jaejoong rolled his eyes at the attitude before taking a deep breath. “What are you thinking about?” The male’s voice was nearly demanding as his eyes still never left the others. Picking at his food, which the Jaejoong took his time to fix up, Yunho sighed.
And from there on, Jaejoong knew there was a problem.
Settling himself down by his hubby, the pretty man grabbed Yunho’s hand. Placing the other’s tanned one in-between his. “You know you can tell me anything right.” Jaejoong spoke. His words slipping with his angelic voice. – Another sigh was heard from Yunho as Jaejoong pouted. “I’ll always be by your side.” he muttered – this time there was a sigh from the older man. “You don’t have to tell me if you don’t want to. – And you for sure don’t need to force yourself to eat.” His index pointing at the now messed up bento.
“Jaejoong…” Yunho finally called. His voice in a smooth tone. “Let’s hold onto the marriage.”
This made the other nearly tumble backwards in his seat. “H-huh?” Jaejoong coughed, ignoring his stuttering words and trembling action. Yunho roughly slipped his hand out of Jaejoong’s hand as he watched the other look back with broken eyes.
It killed him.
“I mean, I’m not ready to get married. This might be a wron-” His words were cut as Jaejoong interrupted. A nod added. “I understand.” he explained. His voice particularly inaudible as he stood up, sending shivers down Yunho’s back. “I’m going to check up on Yari. Just throw the bento out after you’re done.” He then clarified and with a small smile the male headed towards their shared bedroom.
A small frown curved Yunho’s lips.
He knew Jaejoong was disappointed.
-
“I’m going back to work, forget to get something.” Yunho then yelled from the kitchen and after a long silence without any response from his love, Yunho walked towards the door. Already feeling guilty but couldn’t do anything to help fix the wound. At least not anything at the moment.
-
Jaejoong sighed as he heard the door shut.
What was happening?
