Chapter 1

“We will be landing in Hong Kong International Airport in 5 minutes, please get back to your seat ad fasten your seat belt. Thank you for flying with us.”
Qian smiled as she was listening to the flight attendant on the intercom.
‘Yay! In a few minutes I will get to see Tavia.’ She thought to herself.

After landing, it took Qian about 30 minutes to finally able to get her luggage and get out of there. The arrivals section was filled with smiling faces of people greeting their family and friends. For some reason, Qian just love the atmosphere of an airport. Maybe it’s where the best and worst thing in life happens: the departure of a loved one, or the reunion of a family. But all in all, she just loves airports. In fact, her dream was to be a flight attendant, but her family wanted her to go into business because her father owns a big trading company and he wants her to take over his position when he retired since she is the only child. Therefore, to make her parents happy, Qian decided to leave her dream behind and majored in International Business.

The summer after she graduated from college, her parents asked her what she wanted as a graduation gift from them to her. And her answer was an all-expense-paid-for trip to go to Hong Kong. Her parents were surprised by her decision to go to Hong Kong because they no longer have family members in Hong Kong, and as for Qian, she had left Hong Kong when she was 8. Qian explained that she wanted to go visit her “motherland”, but her main reason is to visit her friend Tavia. Tavia is Qian’s friend from college. She was an international student from Hong Kong. They sat next to each other in their Business 9 class. From the first moment they met, Qian felt as if they have known each other forever. However, Tavia went back to Hong Kong at the end of that semester because her mother past away. Thanks to modern technologies, the girls were able to stay in touch and are still friends.

Tavia was excited about Qian coming to Hong Kong to visit her. It has been 1 year since they saw each other. She considered Qian to be one of the very best friends. Although, they didn’t see much of each other, but she talked to each other almost everyday on the phone and chatted almost every night. Therefore, they are pretty much updated on each other lives.

“QIAN!”
Qian smiled as she sees a tall, slender girl running towards her.
“TAVIA!!!” Qian let go of her luggage and ran toward Tavia. The two girls ran into each other’s hug and were laughing their head off.
After a few seconds of hugging and exchanging “I missed you”. They began to head home.
“Tav,” Qian said as she got into the car.
“Yeah?”
“I’m hungry. Do you have anything to eat?”
“Didn’t you eat on the plane?”
“No, because I was too excited to eat or drink anything.”
“Ai-ya. Alright, I guess there’s nothing else to do but to feed you.”
“Hehe…you’re the best.”

So instead of going home, the two friends headed toward a place for lunch.

…On the streets of Hong Kong…

(Vrroom Vrrooom…)

Two sleek and shiny black motorcycles zoomed by. One is a Yamaha YZF-R1 and the other one is a Yamaha YZF-R6. The two were going at a fast yet steady pace. Their destination was a highly popular coffee joint called “The Lounge” for a drink . The two drivers stepped down from their bike and took off their, also black, helmet. Walking into the place, the two young men were immediately greeted by a lovely, young waitress.
“Hey Ray…hiiiii Ron.”
The guy goes by the name of Ray is Raymond Lam. He is about 25 years of age. With a great tan and a sweet sly smile, he had caused many young girls to quiver before his presence.
The other guy is Ron Ng. He is also about 25 years old. Not very different from Ray, Ron is also very handsome looking. His smile is to kill for, but the thing is that Ron doesn’t smile that much, only exception is when he's in presence of Tavia, his crush.
Ray and Ron are best friends since they were two little kids, running around town without pants (not much different now). They do everything together and vowed that they would never let anything come between them.
“Hey Rose, looking cute today. Is that a new necklace?” Ray gave the young waitress one of his sweetest smiles.
“Oh… you mean this old thing?” The waitress blushed and began to fondle with her necklace. “I’ve had it for years.” The truth is she just bought it yesterday.
“Well…it looks very nice on you.” Ray replied and gave her a wink.
“Thanks!” the waitress got a little excited over this. “So are you guys going to order the usual?”
“Yep! You know us best Rose.”
Once the waitress left, Ron turned to Ray and said…
“You DO know that you have a girlfriend right?”
“What are you talking about?” Ray wailed.
“Quit hitting on girls, that’s what I’m talking about.”
“Aw…c’mon I was hardly wooing her. I was jus being friendly…but she’s cute huh?”
“Just…shut up dude.”
As Ray was going to talk back, the waitress came back with their drinks, two Spanish Coffees. Ray took the drinks and gave the waitress her tips and another wink.
“You disgust me,” Ron said once the waitress left.
“Jealous…” Ray replied under his breath.
Sipping on their coffee, the two friends began to talk about their life and work.
