Chapter 4

Breakfast was delightful. Everyone was eating and chatting happily, except for Raymond. He was still sore from the incident this morning.
“So what are we going to do today guys?” Ron asked.
“Well, I was thinking that we could show Qian around a little bit,” Tavia answered.
“That’s great! And then we could go do a little shopping huh?” Qian was excited about the subject.
“Well, you guys can count me out of it. I have better things to do.” Ray said nonchalantly while peering at Qian from the corner of his eyes.
“Aww, too bad, so sad” Qian returned with a sarcastic smile on her face.
Raymond retaliated with a deathly stare while mouthing “little brat.”
Qian pretended she didn’t see Ray’s irritation and went back to eating.
Tavia and Ron saw the battle scene and shrugged their shoulders.
Their cold war was disrupted by the sound of Raymond’s cell ringing.
Ray looked at the screen on his cell phone and saw his girlfriend’s number.
“Hey babe” he answered. “Oh…okay. It’s alright…no sweat. Tell your mom I said hi.” Then he hung up the phone.
“Well, what’s today’s plan again?” Ray asked once he was off the phone.
“I thought you’re busy,” Ron said.
“Stacey called; she won’t be able to spend time with me today ‘cuz she has to take her mom to the temple. So I have nothing to do today.”
“Oh, hurray.” Qian said sarcastically.
Everyone sensed her sarcasm and smiled, except for Raymond.

After a day of exploring Hong Kong, the four decide to head to a restaurant for dinner. In the car, everyone was chatting and laughing excitedly, especially Qian. She was being extra loud because she was still excited about all the events that happened that day. In the front passenger seat, Ray sat in silence. For some reason, he found everything Qian does to be annoying.
‘How could someone be that pretty and be so annoying?’ He thought to himself.
And when the song “She Will Be Loved” by Maroon5 began to play on the radio, Qian squealed and said.
“This is my favorite song of all time!”
Ray heard this and a wicked grin began to appear on his face. He then turned around and smiled at Qian.
“Is it really your favorite song of all time?” He asked.
Everyone was surprised by Ray’s behavior, especially Qian. But she was too caught up in the song to think about it. So all she did was nodded.
“Ah…I see,” Ray smiled. Then, without any hesitation, he reached over and changed the radio station while the song was playing.
Everyone was stunned by his action. Qian was more than furious. Her eyes widened and her palms were sweating, she was ready to reach over and strangled that knuckle head to death. Ron saw this through his rearview mirror and immediately changed the station back to the song. But he was too late, the song was already over.
“THAT’S IT!!” Qian shouted.
‘Uh-oh’ everyone thought. As for Raymond, he was taken delight in this.
“Hey…YOU!” Qian screamed.
Ray chuckled and turned around. “Wha…”
BAM!! He was immediately struck the face with a box of Kleenex, knocking his head backward.
“You little….” Ray was about to curse, but he stopped himself. Instead he narrowed his eyes ad glared at Qian.
“Well, we’re here. Hope everyone’s still hungry,” Ron said while laughing nervously.
“Me! I’m hungry,” Tavia exclaimed while pulling onto Qian.
Once they were out of the car, Ron and Tavia both gave each other a look of relief.
‘At least no one died.’ They both thought in their mind.
As for Qian and Raymond, their staring contest prolonged until their food was on the table.
They ate in silence. Once in a while, there would be a sound of someone clearing their throat. But other than that, it was a peaceful dinner. Until, Qian saw her opportunity to get back at Ray. An evil grin spread across her face as she slightly stuck out her foot as a waiter was approaching their way. Just as Qian had planned, the waiter was too busy to notice her foot and tripped over it. Right away, the plate of pasta fell out of his hand and landed on Ray, leaving a nice shade of red on Ray’s white t-shirt.
“MY FAVORITE SHIRT!!!” Ray screamed as everyone else in the restaurant gasped. He then turned around and glared at Qian; who is looking at him innocently.
Ron sense that a war was going to break out, he immediately pulled Ray into the restroom to clean him off.
“I have had it with that girl!” Ray screamed once he got into the restroom. “Look at what she did to my favorite shirt! I’m gonna get her watch. And once I got her, it’s going to be good.”
“Well, you can’t really blame her,” Ron whispered, afraid of what Ray’s going to do to him next.
“WHAT?!?” Ray’s eyes widened, he couldn’t believe what he was hearing from his best friend’s mouth. “What do you mean “You can’t blame her?”. Who else should I blame? Me?”
“Well…yeah…” Ron said and took a step back.
“How could you say that? Whose side are you on anyways?”
“Well dude, look what you did to her in the car. That was pretty messed up. I would be mad too if I was her. So you shouldn’t be all bitter about it.”
Ray knew that Ron was right so he stayed quiet, but inside he’s still very much bitter.

Ray and Ron came back to the table after Ray was cleaned off. Although the pasta was completely gone, but the red tomato sauce didn’t wash off and left a pinkish glob on his shirt.
“My apology sir,” the waiter said once he saw Ray. “It was my entire fault. I’m very sorry.”
Ray glanced over at Qian then back at the waiter. “Nah, it’s alright. It was your fault. Her BIG foot was in your way,” he said through his teeth loud enough for Qian to hear. But all she did was ignored him.

The ride home from the restaurant was eerily quiet. Everyone just went into their own room once they arrived home.
“Knock, Knock”
Tavia was about to go to bed when she heard someone knocking on her door.
She opened the door to find Qian standing there in her PJs.
“Hey Tav, are you sleeping already?”
“No, not yet. Why?”
“Oh, nothing. I just wanted to talk.”
“Alright, come in.” Tavia smiled.

“Listen,” Qian began to speak once Tavia closed her door. “I just wanted to apologize for my behavior today. I’m sorry.”
“Sorry? You didn’t seem to be sorry at all earlier.” Tavia pretended to be mad and scolded Qian.
“I know what I did was wrong. Are you mad at me?” Qian raised her head and looked at Tavia with puppy-eyes.
Seeing the look on Qian’s face, Tavia couldn’t help but laughed.
“Girl, I’m not mad at you. I was just playing.”
“Huh! You were teasing me you brat!” Qian sad and began tickling Tavia.
“Hahaha…stop…hahaha…stop…please….hahaha….” Tavia was laughing so hard that tears were rolling down her cheeks.
Seeing that she had tortured Tavia enough, Qian decided to stop.
“But honestly,” Tavia said once Qian stopped. “I have never seen my brother like that before. You’re the first girl that he…dislikes so much.”
“Oooh…thank goodness, I considered that to be a fortune.” QIan said with hands over her chest.
“Hey, my brother isn’t that bad.”
“Let me tell you something, the only good thing about your brother is that he has a sister like you.”
“Aww…you’re so sweet,” Tavia said ad gave Qian a hug. “Now, get out so I can get my beauty rest.”
“Ugh, as I was enjoying the love you have to go and ruined it. Fine, I’ll leave so you could get your beauty rest. God knows you need it bad!” Qian said as she dashed out of the room before getting hit by Tavia’s flying pillow.
