Chapter 9: He Was Drunk Because Of “Her”
She refused to believe what she had just read the last word. ‘Zhang’ is the surname of the family whose daughter was supposed to marry Chun and this makes Ella got stunned by the word. “No… this can’t be. It… it must be a coincidence.” She assured herself as she put the phone back on the table and look at the bed where Chun was still sleeping at. “I… I hope it is only a coincidence…” How she wished the person wasn’t the girl Chun was supposed to marry first as she hated to give Chun away to other people even though she didn’t even realized she had completely loved Chun with all her heart.
Three days later, no one expected that Angela Zhang would actually come to their school and insisted to find Chun. As she stepped into the school, she looked around the scenery and smiled. “What a beautiful school I have ever seen…” Students walking pass her were all staring at her as she was not wearing the school uniform. She was wearing a dress looks quite tiny but it fits her whole body perfectly. Her hair was long and a little curvy at the end of her hair and this makes her to get more attention from everyone’s eyes.
Meanwhile, Ella happened to carry some books which the teacher had asked for her to bring to the class from his office. The book was stacked up quite high so she didn’t realized someone was walking towards her and she accidentally bumped into someone and fell. The books flew up high and then dropped down to the ground one by one. “Ouch…” Ella groaned in pain for awhile and realized she had knocked into someone. Without hesitating, she went forward and lends a helping hand to the girl. “I’m sorry! Are you alright…?” She asked in concerned as she pulled this girl up from the ground. “Gee… she is so light…!” She thought for a second as she had never seen such a tiny and skinny girl before.
“I’m alright.” She smiled without even being angry at all. Instead, she squatted down back to the ground and helped Ella to pick the books that was all over the ground. “Come. Let me help you…!” The girl helped up and Ella continued to pick the books up as well. After that, the girl asked her. “By the way, do you know where class 1-A is at?”
“Oh… my class is two rooms next to that class and I was about to walk there too. I’ll show you the way.” Ella smiled and showed her the way to 1-A, didn’t even think further that this girl was Angela Zhang. As soon as they reached 1-C, Ella stopped there as she pointed 1-A classroom to Angela. “See that door? That is class 1-A.”
At last, she had found the classroom where she wanted to find the person she wants to. She bowed down and thanked Ella for showing her the classroom and hurriedly walks to the classroom. “Gee... though she looks quite small… she is sure really pretty.” She praised inside her heart and then entered the classroom with the books.

Before she knocked the door, she took a deep breathe by calming herself not to get even nervous. “Be brave, Angela. Chun will definitely be surprised to see you.” Slowly, she knocked on the door as the teacher in the class noticed her. Not only that, as she stepped into the classroom, everyone were all starring at her.
His eyes shot big in surprised and his mind completely went blank when he saw the girl he doesn’t wish to see anymore suddenly appeared in front of his sight.
“Umm… I’m here to find someone called Chun…” Angela said as she take a look around the classroom and realized Chun was sitting at the end of the corner, giving her a surprised look.
He then stood up and said. “I’ll be back later, teacher.” As he walked passed Angela, he grabbed her arm and pulled her along with him with a cold expression written on his face, not even bothering to hear the class mumbling about the relationship between him and Angela.

“Chun…” She mutters softly as she got a feeling that he wasn’t treating as good as before. Chun continued pulling her with him until they reached somewhere where no one is walking pass around that area. He let her hands off but faced his back at her, refusing to look at her.
“Why did you come?” He asked coldly. “Chun… it’s been a few months ever since the last meeting we have. But somehow, I just got the news that you had married another girl! Why did you do that out of a sudden?” She had also changed into a sad look as she wanted to know what the reason he did that behind her back is. Suddenly, he turned back and looked at her. “Hah…! After everything had happened, you finally dare to appear in front of my sight! And the first question you asked is why I married a girl? Do you really think you have the right to interfere my personal things now?”
“Chun… why… why are speaking to me roughly? I… I know it’s my fault for leaving you out of a sudden 6 months ago but… but I have my own reasons of doing that!” She responded back with her heart aching badly. “Oh yeah…? Your reason was because you are marrying a guy from another country, isn’t it? This is the one and only message you sent to me and then you never reply any message me back anymore!” Chun’s thunderous voice echoed loudly that some students came out from their classroom and check to see what happened.
Tears were streaming down to her cheeks as she cried. “Chun… I… I did not marry a guy at all… that wasn’t true… I… I lied to you…”
But he didn’t bother to even hear it. The more he hears that, the more he got furious. “Shut up! Get lost of my sight, Angela! I don’t wish to see you anymore in the future!” His eyes were so red when he glared at her. Not only she feels hurt when he scolded her, she felt that Chun had no feelings towards her anymore. This makes her feel like wanted to commit suicide but then, with a reason to live, she couldn’t do that at all. “Chun… you… you can’t do this to me…” She begged with her hands grabbing to his tightly, refusing to give up of him.
Shoving her aside, he gave her his last warning. “Don’t touch me, you sickening bitch! If you keep clinging yourself to me again, I won’t go easy on you!” With that as his last sentence, he walked in a hurried way to keep himself away from her, leaving the girl in tears crying on the ground loudly.
Angela never expected him to call her the word ‘bitch’. To her, she knew Chun will never be able to forgive her, not even mentioning to be his side again. Students from other classes saw her on the ground and quickly all gathered to her side and helped her up. But she didn’t bothered about them and just ran away with her tears as fast as she could, along with her heartbroken heart.

Hebe and Ella were both strolling around the basketball court when they saw Arron playing basketball with other guys. “Hey… isn’t that the silly guy who wished to court you?” Ella joked but stopped when Hebe glared at her. “Don’t mention about him anymore, Ella. It’s been really frustrated for me when he always popped out in front of my sight and keep making me go fed up of him!” She then looked at the direction of where Arron was and continued. “Let’s leave before he noticed me…” But the timing was bad.
Arron’s eyes are really sharp and he caught Hebe there, who was trying to walk away from him as fast as possible. “Trying to run away from me? Haha… then I’ll make sure you will fail of doing so!” Quickly, he told his basketball members that he had to leave first and then rushed all the way to Hebe and Ella. “HEBE!!! OH HEBE!” He yelled happily as Hebe jumped up. “EEEKKK! ELLA! RUN!!!”
But it was too late. Arron had already caught Hebe with his hands and then wrapped it around her waist, winking charmingly to her. “Hey… cutie… no use trying to avoid me.” Ella was aside, staring blankly at what the scene she was seeing. When Hebe realized what situation she got into, her whole face was blushing like a red apple. His face was so close towards her that she had no idea what she had to do next. Her face was so red that Arron find that she’s cute and started laughing out loud.
Finally, she regained her senses and pushed him away from her, attempting to use the usual way of slapping him. However, he had seen through that and stopped her hand from doing so. “No way are you going to use the same method of trying to drive me away from you.” He said adding a smile.
Her angered rose higher as she couldn’t stand this sickening guy anymore. “Arron Yan! You better stop all your methods of getting me. I will never going to accept you! Please take a look at yourself in the mirror! Do you think you are fit to be with me?” She never wanted to speak such cruel words to him but to make him get away from her, she had to do it. Nevertheless, she did not expect Arron didn’t get any hurt by her words. Instead, he took out a small shiny mirror from his pants pocket and look. “Hmm… a handsome guy…” He then faced the mirror at Hebe and continued. “… and a pretty lady…”
Frowning of what he did, Hebe said in disgust. “Don’t you think you are ashamed of yourself to say you are handsome? I don’t even think you are any handsome at all. And please don’t waste your time on me.” With the last sentence she said to him, Hebe walked away from him with Ella followed behind her.
Arron did not follow her anymore but as he looked at Ella, he suddenly recalled he had something to tell her. “Hey… Mrs. Ella Wu!” He called her, not even know that students were all glaring at Ella. She turned back and asked. “Uh… yeah…? Don’t call me that surname will you? It is kind of… weird…”
“Haha… alright. Anyways… I have something to warn you. Try not to anger Chun for today. He is not in very good mood.”
“What is his mood got to do anything with Ella huh? Just tell him don’t get near to Ella if he is not in a good mood, as simple as that!” Hebe shouted back. “And if he dares to put all the anger to her, I’ll never let him off easily!”
“Cool down, my dear…” He laughed. “Ella is his wife and both of them are staying in the same room. I’m just worried about her so I’m just trying to warn her that. If not, when Chun burst out his anger, nothing could stop him.”
“How come the way you speak is as if that Wu Chun is a scary monster who will kill anyone huh?” Hebe asked in confused, not understand what Arron is trying to tell Ella. But Ella, who knows what he means, got the message. “Did I?” Arron pretended as if he did not know what he was talking about. “I don’t know. Figure it yourself, my princess.”
She turned and looked at Ella with a questioning look, seeing if she knows something she doesn’t know.
“Don’t worry, Arron. I don’t even have the guts to make him angry. Besides, he doesn’t have the reason to put all his anger towards me.” Ella is trying to escape the question that Hebe wanted to ask. “No… what I mean was…” Before he could get the chance to tell her something she needs to know about, she interrupted again. “Come on, Hebe. I need to go to the toilet. Accompany me…” Pulling with Hebe with her anxiously, with her speed of her walking, Arron knew she was trying not to let Hebe knows anything about Chun.

“Ella…”
She could feel her name being called in a solemnly tone.
“Yeah…?”
“What are you trying to hide from me?” Hebe asked sternly, sensing Ella wasn’t trying to be honest with her. “Nothing… how… how can I be able to hide anything from you?” She smiled faintly, making Hebe to get even more suspicious of her behavior. “Ella… you cannot hide anything from me at all. I know you are lying and are trying to avoid the questions I’m asking you right now.”
As she knew she can’t hide anything more from Hebe, she had to sigh and tell her everything about Chun. “Chun… he… he is a…” But out of a sudden, she recalled one of the rules that she is not allowed to tell anyone about his real identity. [If you ever dare to expose my secret of being a gangster to anyone, I’LL RAPE YOU.] And when she thought about this, she jumped in fright and trembles in her heart. “Chun… Chun is a precious husband to me. He… he won’t do anything harm towards me!”
“Ella! Speak out the truth! How can that guy treating you so good when his attitude towards you is so bad? You can’t lie to me with such a bad excuse!” Hebe disputed in flared, hate to see Ella keep on lying to her again and again. “It’s real… Hebe. I mean… even if he treated me badly… I… I also love him! You… you should know that… I like him a lot…” Ella cried. “So… Hebe… Just believe me that I like him. To say the truth, as each day passes, my heartbeat would pound faster than ever whenever I’m with him. It’s the proof that I totally had fallen for him too deeply.”
Hebe was watching how she cried, how she explained she loved the guy so much and how she tried to bear the pain inside her when Chun is treating her badly. “Sigh… alright. Since… you loved him so much… I won’t force you to say anything you don’t wish to.” Gradually, she patted her shoulders.

As she stepped into the mansion, she could hear broken pieces noises travelling out from the kitchen. On the spur of the moment, she scurried towards the kitchen to see what had happened. Unexpectedly, Chun was there drinking a bottle of wine furiously as she looked around the bottles that were smashed on the ground. As Chun finished another bottle of wine, he smashed it on the ground and then grabbed another bottle of wine, attempting to drink again. Seeing that, the girl couldn’t stand there and do nothing about it. She rushed forward to him and grabs the wine from him, asking. “What’s wrong with you? Stop drinking so many bottles of wines in a day, Chun!”
His mind was all in a mess because he was in a drunken state. “Give me back, you stupid woman!” He grabbed the wine back from her and opens the lid by force and throws it aside, started to drink the wine again. “Chun!” She yelled. “Stop drinking anymore!” But none of her words woke up him. She couldn’t find any help because there was no one in the house at all. The maid that was in charge had gone for a holiday. Mr. and Mrs. Wu were busying doing their works in their huge company.
Abruptly, Chun started shouting to the air. “You are so cruel… Angela… you are way too cruel…”
Having heard of the name he shouted, Ella was despaired because he only thinks of the girl that he was calling, but not her. “I must do something to knock him out before he continued drinking further.” She thought as she knocked Chun unconsciously from the back as hard as she have the energy. Successfully, Chun was knocked off and then collapsed to the ground unconsciously.
At once, she carried his right arm and uses all her strength to pull him up to her. “Ah… he’s so heavy…” She groaned yet she didn’t give up easily. Continuing carried his arm over her shoulders, she dragged him step by step and to the way where the stairs. “Oh my god… I must drag him up to the room…?” She whined again and started to drag him up the stairs gently; afraid he will fell of the stairs. Finally, she brought him back to their room.
She quietly placed him on the bed. “Now I must go and clean up the mess he did.” Before she walked out of the room, she glanced at Chun with his drunken face. “Sigh…” She then slowly took his shoes and socks out and placed it neatly on aside. Next, she sits on the bed beside him and unbuttons his school uniform. As she unbutton one by one, she could hear soft yelled coming out from his mouth. “Why… must you appear out in… front of me… again…? If you want to leave… then… don’t come back forever… why… why… must you come back… when everything is… too late…?” Ella did not understand a word from him but she knew the person he refers probably is the girl called Angela. “Is she that precious to him so much?” She thought desolately through her heart, and could feel the pain she got when she knew Chun had other girl in his mind.
As she finished unbuttoned, she took it out from him and placed it aside. He was sleeping in a weird style so Ella pulled his hands up to the bed so that he can sleep in better way. Just when she was about to let go of her hands from him, Chun grabbed her and pulled her down to him, causing Ella to wheeze in stunned. Before she could move the next step, Chun had already embraced her into his arms tightly, refusing to let her off. “Angela! Please… don’t leave me… don’t leave me alone…”
The name he called was once again shooting through Ella’s heart like thousands of arrows had shot through her. Couldn’t hold longer the pain she felt, she wanted to escape from him. “Stop… I’m not Angela…” She struggled yet his strength was just too strong for her to free from. “Don’t leave me… please…” At this moment, she thought she had seen a tear shed down from his eyes. “Please… Angela… don’t leave me…”
Yes. He was crying. And this makes her thought she was dreaming because she could never imagine he would actually cried. She always thought he was as strong as he looks and as scary as he looks. And now another side of his came out, really surprised her. “Chun… he… cried…?” Her eyes were widened so big that she couldn’t know what to do next. She had stopped struggling and instead, she let him continue to hug her as he likes. She just couldn’t leave him like this when she saw him crying dreadfully as if he was going to kill himself in the next moment.
“What happened between him and the girl, Angela? What did Angela did to him to make him suffer like this?” She had no idea what makes him so sad that he actually cried but she had a feeling that Chun probably had a relationship with Angela before. “He… must have loved her a lot…” She cried with a tear dropped. Her mind was in mess as she doesn’t know whether this is the pain that Chun doesn’t love her, or this is the pain that she could felt that Chun had too.
“It… feels so warm… how come Angela is this warm…?” Chun was in his dream yet he could felt the person he was hugging had a warm and comfortable feeling. That feeling also let him thought that it was a feeling that the person understands his pain, sharing his pain and was totally trying hard to make him feel better.

The sun was shining brightly out from the window through the room as the guy felt the light that gone into him. “Arg…” He groaned in pain as he felt his head was dizzy. To be clearer, he… doesn’t remember what he did yesterday. Just as he was trying to get up from the bed, he felt a head on his right arm. He turned and was extremely shocked to see Ella sleeping next to him so close, with her hands on his body. “MY GOD!” He yelled and pushed her away hardly that she rolled to the other side of the bed and fell to the ground, causing her to wake up from her sleep.
“Ah…” Ella had woken up as she slowly got up from the ground with her hands rubbing her eyes. “ELLA CHEN! WHAT THE HELL YOU ARE SLEEPING WITH ME THAT CLOSE?” He was in an enraged state after the pain he got. “Arg… my head…”
“You… you were drunk last night…” She replied sadly as she knew he must have forgotten what happened yesterday. “Umm…”
“I’m… I’m drunk…?” He frowned as he carefully thinks back what he was doing yesterday. Indeed he remembered he was drinking a lot of wine yesterday because he was in a dreadful mood, or should he say because of Angela? As he only could remember this part and nothing else, he glared at Ella and yelled again. “So you used this chance and take advantage of me? If not, why am I not wearing any clothes?”
She explained back. “I… carried you back to the room… and… your shirt got the wine smell on it. So… I plan to… take and wash it for you…” “Then why is my uniform still here?” He grabbed the shirt from the ground and showed it to her. “That’s because…” Before she could continue her words, Chun couldn’t stand his pain anymore and he doesn’t want to hear her explanation. “Quiet! I don’t wish to hear your voice anymore! Get out!” He ordered her with his hand on his head, trying to bear the pain.
“Chun…”
“I SAY GET OUT!” He roared so loudly that it pierced through her ears, causing her to run away and out of the room before he gets angry further.
She ran out of the room, slamming the door loudly and then all the way to the living room. “He… he forgotten everything he did to me last… night…” Slowly, she couldn’t help but squatted down to the floor and started crying again. “I must bear it… I… I don’t wish to leave him… I want… to stay by his side… let him notice me… and loved him secretly forever.”
Chun’s cried had let Ella to love him even more, even refused to leave him alone. She wanted to protect him and love him by his side, no matter how he treated her badly. At least… she could stay by his side… everyday…
