He finally arrived at Hebe’s room and he looked inside.
Hebe was with another little girl in her room,
The girl seemed around 7 years old and she sat on Hebe’s legs.
Hebe was reading the picture book “Goldilocks and the three bears” to the little girl.
She was smiling and you could tell she really read to the girl with her heart.
She did expressions and voice changes due to the amount of characters.
The little girl suddenly yawned and Hebe stopped reading.
“Bella, are you sleepy?” asked Hebe.
“No Jie Jie, I want to listen” replied Bella.
“No Bella. Remember what you promised me?” asked Hebe.
“But…Jie Jie…I want to listen,,” whined Bella.
“I read you the rest tonight ok? Go take a nap first!”
“Ok then Jie Jie!” said Bella and got of Hebe’s lap read to go.
“Hey Bella! Where’s my kiss?” asked Hebe jokingly.
Bella ran back to Hebe and jumped on her.
She planted kisses on Hebe’s face and Hebe laughed.
“Ok Ok! Enough! You are wetting me!” laughed Hebe and Bella got of her lap and said bye.
She ran back to her room.
Hebe’s eyes trailed after Bella and finally met with Aaron.
“Aaron?” asked Hebe surprisingly.
Aaron stepped in and smiled, “ Hi…”
Hebe didn’t reject him this time and smiled back, “How come you’re here?”
“ Can we talk Hebe?” asked Aaron.
Hebe smiled and said, “ Sure but what about outside in the garden. I’m kind of sick of here”
Truly Hebe have changed a lot.
Hebe and Aaron walked to the garden and sat on the bench near the river.
“ Er…Hebe…you’ve changed a lot” said Aaron.
“Really? Well… I guess it’s all because of the little girls. The time I’ve been in the hospital I learnt a lot of things. I used to think I was unlucky and all bad and stuff but seeing them really changed me. I finally noticed how lucky I was. Some of them never ever left the hospital because of some sickness they were born with. Some does have parents but even though they are in the hospital they hardly visited them. When I communicated with them, I finally noticed how lucky I was. Although my parents left me when I was very young I still had my auntie. Seriously meeting Ella and Hero were a bonus. They mean a lot to me. And you Aaron” said Hebe as she looked and smiled at Aaron at the mention of his name.
Hebe stood up and started walking followed by Aaron.
“Although you made me miserable and sad Aaron, you still mean a lot to me. The memories and feeling you give me take up a lot in me. I treasure you a lot Aaron” said Hebe a she smiled at Aaron.
“Hebe…” mumbled Aaron as his face showed a lot of pain.
“I love you Hebe…but why do you have to tell me all of these things now? Are you trying to kill me” thought Aaron.
“Did you know the little girl that was reading with me never left the hospital? She was born here and her parents left her here. Afterwards they also found that she was born with heart problems. I guess this was why her parents left her but she is a very innocent and cute girl. She always looks at the bright side. Did you know Aaron? I didn’t regret bring a childcare teacher. Although we find ourselves mature and clever, I actually find the children more mature. They won’t do so much things to hurt people and they just do what they think is right. Why does life have to be so complicated?”
There were a silence after Hebe’s words and Hebe asked, “Yea, how is Gui Gui and you going?”
Aaron walked over to Hebe and handed her their invitation, “Hebe, we’re getting married next week”.
Hebe looked stunned and shocked.
She felt her heart aching and the urge to cry.
“Oh…” was all Hebe could get out of her mouth.
“Hebe, I hope you and Hero can come to our wedding”
“Congratulations…” mumbled Hebe and tried her best to smile.
“Hebe…”mumbled Aaron as he could tell she was not happy at all.
“I’m…I’m happy for you” said Hebe trying her best not to let her real emotions be shown.
Aaron lifted her right arm to touch Hebe however Hebe backed away and said, “ No…no..Aaron…you should go back and see Gui Gui…”
“But…Hebe…” said Aaron as he walked towards her.
“Aaron…stop…please…stop….”mumbled Hebe as her tears ran down her face,
Aaron stopped and stared at her his own heart breaking at the same time.
“Congratulations” said Hebe as she turned around ready to get away from him however Aaron pulled onto her arm and swung her towards him.
Their lips met and Aaron kissed her unexpectedly.
Aaron pulled away from the kiss and embraced her in his strong arms.
He didn’t let her see his face but say, “ Sorry Hebe…I’m sorry…”.
Aaron let his tears pour as he felt the warmth from Hebe.
Hebe stood still in his arms with tears pouring down her face as well.
Suddenly Hebe pushed him away and said, “ No…we can’t…we can’t”
She ran away while wiping her tears that were streaming down her face like a waterfall.
“Why Aaron? Why do you have to do this to me?” thought Hebe,
