He could feel heat rising up his face as he walked closer and closer….his heart beat so fast that he thought he would have a heart attack.
As he took his last step towards them, Hero looked up.
From his eyes, he could feel…
Pain…
Anger…
Frustration…
Desperation…
Sadness…
“Aaron…” muttered Hero as more tears rolled down his face.
Aaron’s hands shook as he felt his body became weak.
“Aaron…Hebe…she…”
Aaron’s eyes started getting watery as he stared at his friend.
“Hebe…she lost her eye sight…from the car crash…” said Hero as he tried controlling his tears.
Aaron felt helpless but relieved that God hasn’t taken her away from him however she was blinded…
She could not look at the things she enjoyed looking at again…
She cannot be independent anymore…
She can’t look at her favourite ocean again…
She will always live in a world with the only colour, black.
And why has this happened to her?
All because of one person….
Someone….that accused her…
Pushed her away when she tried to explain…
A person that doesn’t even deserve to be with her…
He was the one… he was the one that changed her life…
Wrecked her future…
Aaron yan…
Aaron fell on his knees as the words ran through his mind.
He technically took her eye sight away from her.
“No…why will this happen…it’s not the truth right…it can’t be…” muttered Aaron as tears streamed down his cheeks.
“Aaron….it’s the truth…Hebe…she…lost her eye sight…a huge force knocked her head and it affected the brain damage she had last time. This made her lose her eyes sight…she will never be able to see again…” explained Hero through tears as he held onto his friend’s shoulder trying to support him up.
Aaron started shaking his head slowly while his eyes showed no emotion, only tears.
His heart felt pain.
Aaron pulled onto Hero’s jacket as he continued saying, “ It can’t be….this isn’t what she deserve…why does God have to do this to her! WHY CAN’T HE DO THIS TO ME! TAKE EVERYTHING AWAY FROM ME! DON’T HURT HEBE!..Please…please..”
Aaron stood up as he punched the wall and slid down.
He felt like he couldn’t breathe, he closed his eyes as tears continued falling.
“Hebe…” mumbled Aaron.
Hebe’s auntie stood up and walked over to Aaron.
She crouched down and placed a hand on Aaron’s shoulder,
“Aaron…it’s not your fault…please don’t be like this..” she said as she struggled through the tears.
Aaron opened his eyes weakly as he looked at Hebe’s Aunt.
“I’m sorry, I’m sorry! It was my fault! I’m sorry! Take my eye sight and replace Hebe’s. Please….please…please let me take up my responsibility!” answered Aaron as he held onto the sleeves of Hebe’s Auntie.
“No…Aaron…please, don’t be like this…no one wants this…”
Aaron let go of Hebe’s aunt’s sleeves as she got up and wiped her tears.
“If I never appeared, nothing will happen to Hebe. I shouldn’t have ever appeared in front of her. If I could disappear from her life, how good will that be…I don’t deserve her…I don’t deserve being near her…” mumbled Aaron as he got up lazily using the wall for support.
“Aaron!” he heard as he turned his head.
Chun was standing there with his eyes red.
“Aaron, I’m sorry, I should’ve told you all about this earlier! I shouldn’t have been so selfish! I cared so much about my job I forgot what the meaning of life was…it was my fault.” stated Chun as he swallowed his saliva to control his tears of regret.
“It wasn’t your fault Chun…” mumbled Aaron as he slowly walked towards the direction to leave, “It was me who hurt her so badly, it was me who accused her when she was innocent, and it was me who was so STUPID!”
Aaron yelled as he said the last word and punched the wall making his hand bleed.
“AARON!” yelled Chun and Hero.
“Oh no!” mumbled Hebe’s auntie as she covered her mouth.
The boys assisted Aaron as he continued his emotionless behavior.
“LET GO OF ME!” yelled Aaron.
“I DON’T DESERVE ANY HELP!” he continued as he ignored the pain on his fist.
“Where are you going Aaron!” yelled Chun.
“I’m going to go find that bitch! I need her to pay for what she had made me do to Hebe!” he answered as he continued his walk.
“No Aaron! Don’t” yelled Hero as he ran and pulled onto his arm.
‘Do you think this will help? This won’t! Whatever you do to her, Hebe will not have her eye sight back! It’s no use!” explained Hero.
“I DON’T CARE!” argued Aaron as he shoved Hero’s hand off.
“NO AARON DON’T!” cried Chun as he held onto his other arm.
“THIS IS THE LAST TIME I AM SAYING THIS! LET ME GO!!!!!!!!!!” yelled Aaron furiously as he shoved both of their hands off harshly making them drop to the ground.
He turned a corner but suddenly stopped.
In front of his eyes was…
Hebe…
She had a white bandage wrapped around her eyes and head.
Although you could not see her eyes, you could identify her, she was crying… she was indeed crying…
“Aaron…” she mumbled.
Aaron stared at her, his heart ached more as he saw her eyes bandaged.
Hebe lifted her hand as she felt Aaron’s chest.
She walked closer to him and lifted her hand up to his face,
She felt his features as Aaron’s tears rolled down his face uncontrollably once again.
Hebe’s tears appeared under her bandage as she felt Aaron’s face.
‘Aaron…you came…” mumbled Hebe.
Hero closed his eyes as his tears ran down his face.
Chun looked away and bit his lower lip preventing himself from tearing up.
“Aaron…I’m scared..” continued Hebe.
“I’m scared to live in darkness, I’m scared I will trip and fall, I’m scared everyone will leave me and I won’t be able to live independently again…I want to look at dolphins again. I want to play with little kids again, I want to look at beautiful scenes again, I want to see your face again Aaron…”
Hebe shook as she said the words, her voice shaking.
Tears continued streaming down everyone’s faces.
“I’m sorry Hebe…” mumbled Aaron at last.
“Aaron, it’s not your fault” said Hebe shaking her head while she tried smiling at him, “I know you didn’t want this to happen”.
“No Hebe, I was the one that made you get hurt every single time. Hebe, I don’t deserve to be near you!”
“Aaron, listen to me, although I lost my eye sight, I didn’t regret what I did. Aaron, if I didn’t take the action to try stopping your marriage with Gui Gui, I would regret” answered Hebe as she broke into tears in front of him.
“Hebe, it was my fault! I don’t deserve you to love me! Hebe, I didn’t deserve anything from you!” argued Aaron choking on his tears.
“Aaron, please don’t say that…” mumbled Hebe as she slid down on the ground,
“ Sorry Hebe, I will never appear in front of you again. I don’t want to hurt you anymore…” said Aaron as he blinked his tears away and stepped away from Hebe.
Hebe shook her head as she mumbled, “No Aaron, Please don’t leave me Aaron..”
“I’m sorry Hebe”
“Aaron don’t be…please don’t leave me behind…”
Aaron continued walking away.
Hebe could feel him moving away from her.
She suddenly felt scared and helpless.
She didn’t want Aaron to go.
“AARON PLEASE! DON’T GO! I LOVE YOU AARON!” yelled Hebe while she choked on her tears.
Aaron stopped on his spot as those words ran through his ears.
He suddenly felt that he had the right and responsibility to protect Hebe.
Hebe continued sobbing as she mumbled, “ Aaron..I never knew why I cared so much about you. Maybe it was because I love you too much. I didn’t know what love meant until I went through so much things. I felt scared when you weren’t beside me. I felt lonely when you were with another girl. I never knew that you meant so much to me Aaron. I tried to control myself, I tried to tell myself not to love you so much but I couldn’t. I felt my heart ache when I hear you telling me you were marrying Gui Gui. Aaron, this all happened because I love you. I didn’t care about getting hurt or anything. I just want to be with you. I just want to stay by your side forever” confessed Hebe as she choked through her speech.
That was enough for Aaron’s heart to melt.
He turned around and ran to Hebe.
He hugged her from behind as she was facing the other side because she was talking to him before.
“Sorry Hebe, I never knew I made you go through so much pain. I will never leave you again, I will never ever let you go through as much pain you had before!”
Hebe smiled as she turned around and hugged Aaron tightly.
“ I love you Hebe…” mumbled Aaron.
