Chapter 6

After the party

“Ah! HanYoung! HyungWoo! Come over here quick!” JiHan called over his shoulder as he bounded up the steps leading to the main entrance of the Gu family’s mansion which magnificent, awe-inspiring, regal air was greatly enhanced by the blue lights illuminating it against the star-filled night-sky.

HanYoung followed her childhood friend up the stairs eagerly with GaEul, who was carrying the squirming eager HyungWoo, trailing close behind her, watchful and ready to support her daughter if she fell backwards. The two were watched closely by YiJung who held back to be with his F4 pack.

“Appa, just put your whole weight on me. I can take it. I’m strong!” JunPyo boasted to his father as he pushed aside the man-servant and attempted to help his father onto his wheelchair.

“Yah, are you sure? The last time I dragged you to go shopping with me you complained so much when you were just carrying three bags!” JanDi retorted.

“Yeah! One bag contained a rice cooker, the other a sewing machine, and the last, 1 full set of china plates! Geum- ani- Gu JanDi, are you crazy? What’d you need those for?” JunPyo replied defensively as he heaved his father from the seat of the Gu’s sleek black limousine and onto the wheelchair.

Madam Kang stood aside and just smiled and looked on as the couple continued arguing.

“Oh, JiHoo, what would you do if you went to formal event but forgot to wear your suit and just wore some casual clothes? What if you forgot your shirt? Do you believe in aliens? Can you speak to them? You 4th-dimensional creature, tell me how you think.” WooBin prodded JiHoo incessantly in an attempt to make him answer the questions, trying to figure out how 4th-dimensional people think. YiJung was amused.

Nearby, another similar limousine was parked and in it was filled with JiHan’s birthday presents from all the guests who attended his birthday party that evening. They were all being removed hurriedly and brought up to JiHan’s playroom by flustered maids.

“Hurry hurry! Young Master JiHan is waiting! Why in the world are you people so slow!?!” the head of maids barked at them and smacked the one nearest to her.

Soon after, everyone was in JiHan’s humongous colorful playroom brightly lit by three overhead lights. Madam Kang and Master Gu sat at the sofa at the extreme left side of the room near the 2m high windows overlooking the Gu mansion's garden and was attended by the head of maids and the butler. F4 sat on single chairs which were decorated elaborately in white and gold near the centre of the room. JiHan and HanYoung were running all around the room with JiHan pointing out and introducing his latest toys to HanYoung and HyungWoo who was crawling behind them. JiHan would then grab and push them to the siblings. They were closely followed by a worried GaEul and a JanDi who just wanted to complain to her best friend about something “horrible” that JunPyo did that morning.

“Young Master JiHan, all your presents have been sent up here. Do you want to open them now?” a finely dressed man-servant asked JiHan and indicated towards a mountain of perfectly wrapped boxes of all colours beside him.

“Ahh! YEH!” JiHan squealed and clapped in delight and then sped towards the pile of presents. Unfortunately, in his hurry, he tripped over his own feet and went barreling into the pile of presents. The inevitable result was that the poor young master of the Gu family was buried in an avalanche of presents.

F3 stood up in shock. Madam Kang stood up in shock. Master Gu lurched forward in shock. GaEul grabbed her two children towards her and hugged them close. JunPyo and JanDi rushed over to unbury JiHan.

“WHO PUT THE PRESENTS LIKE THIS!?!” JunPyo roared. “I MUST FIRE THAT PERSON!”

“Appa! Ani!” JiHan laughed and giggled. He was much more amused by the accident than being angered by it.

“JiHan ah, are you okay? Are you hurt anywhere? Let Omma see!” JanDi fussed over her son, dusting his shirt and pants then inspecting every inch of his head and arms and legs with a worried frown on her face.

“Omma, I’m fine! Appa, it’s my birthday. Don’t fire anyone.” JiHan assured his mother and begged his father in a authoritative voice.

Everyone sat back down again, even JunPyo, who let the matter go reluctantly. JanDi continued to fuss over JiHan.

“Yah… What’s this?” JiHan asked, shaking a box furiously and ignoring his mother. Dull thuds were heard.

“Is it a robot? Yah, could you have damaged it when you shook it?” HanYoung asked as she went over to shake the box herself.

“Aish! What are you doing?” JiHan asked as he snatched the box back and tore open the first of his presents. It revealed to be a do-it-yourself robot made in Japan.

“Eh… what kind of present is this?” JiHan complained as he chucked it to one side and grabbed another one.
HanYoung looked at him scathingly.

“Tsk! How could you say that?” she scolded.

One after another, JiHan tore open all of his presents, briefly stopping in between to guess what it was then either squeal in delight or show his disapproval towards a present then to argue with HanYoung who would definitely express her disapproval of his behavior.

HyungWoo sat at the side playing together with his mother the toys that JiHan had chucked away.

JanDi returned to GaEul’s side and started to play with HyungWoo.

Just barely 15 minutes later, Master Gu let out a yawn.

“Ah, I’m old. I need my rest. I’m going to sleep now okay? You youngsters should just continue on. Ahh… Goodnight.” Master Gu said as Madam Kang raised to push her husband to their room.

“Yah… What time is it? Eh? Eleven? It’s late. GaEul, HanYoung, HyungWoo, shall we go?” YiJung asked.

“Oh, we must go too.” WooBin said as he poked a half-dozing JiHoo awake.

“Appa… Omma…” HanYoung whined.

“HanYoung, let’s go. It’s late. You need to sleep! Say goodbye.” GaEul replied, picking up HyungWoo and not falling for her daughter’s sad puppy-dog look.
HanYoung admitted defeat.

“JiHan ah, annyeong.” HanYang bade JiHan farewell.

“WooBin-sshi, JiHoo-sshi, JunPyo-sshi, JanDi-sshi, annyeong.” HanYoung bade them goodbye.

“Annyeong, Hanyoung.” They chanted as HanYoung went infront of YiJung and silently demanded that he carry her by raising both of her hands to him.

As YiJung carried her, he and GaEul turned to face F4 and JiHan and bade them all goodbye. With that, they walked out of the room, out of the Gu mansion and went home.

WooBin and JiHoo soon followed suit as JanDi nagged at her son and husband to wash up before she would tuck them in.

Isn’t JunPyo like a child? Hahahahahha!

Hmm… this chapter is a bit useless and serious. Well, what I’m trying to show is how F4 still keep in contact with one another and even how their friendship is passed on to their next generation. Oh, and to show the how the relationship between Mama Kang, Master Gu and JanDi and JunPyo is like.

Did I pass?

Also, could all readers just leave a short comment (just one word ‘here’ will do.) at my comment box so that I know how many are actually reading this? This way, I will know how fast I should update and how many people will hate me if I suddenly stopped the story. (And I wanna check if everyone knows about this shift… so that I can delete my other account.)
