Louis! Jessica could not believe that he was actually sitting before her, dressed in an acceptable gentlemanly manner.
“Hie Jessica…” he started.
Jessica had so much wanted to see him and had infinite questions to ask, but just at the moment she didn’t know where to begin.
“Michelle has a wonder of digging you out huh?” she said finally. The waitress came by to put down a glass of orange juice before her.
Louis waited until the waiter was out of earshot before he spoke again. “She’s a smart woman.”
Jessica nodded in agreement.
“I… I’ve missed you…” he blurted again to Jessica’s amazement. “I like you a lot too…”
So I’m not alone… she thought as her heart skipped at his words.
“But… we’re people from two different worlds…” he added.
What crap… but she couldn’t help agreed silently that she would have said so too had it been any other man with his background.
“I hope you understand…” Louis said some more but Jessica cut his line.
“I don’t care!” she said. I can’t believe I said that!
“Jess, you don’t know me well…” Louis still sounded reluctant.
“But my heart tells me I do…” she said firmly. Louis only sighed at her obstinacy.
“Give us a chance Louis…” Jessica pleaded.
“You’re going to regret this choice of yours…” Louis said giving in, his hand reaching over for hers.
“No, I’ll regret it if I don’t take the chance…” she replied persistently enjoying the feeling of their warm touch.

“Hey honey…” Raymond purred into his phone.
“Eew… you’re giving me goosebumps,” Michelle replied, but happy all the same.
“Lunch?” he asked.
“Hmmm… no, I’m too busy…” Michelle said after considering that she needed to take some time off Raymond. Their relationship was blooming far too fast for her to think rationally.
“Busy reading magazines?” Raymond guessed without hesitation.
“Huh?” Michelle surprised at his accuracy.
Her office door swung open and a figure hid behind a big bouquet of pink roses. “Surprise!”
Michelle smiled and hung up the phone. “This is my office you know… Can you be more official…”
“Do I need to be official to see my girlfriend?” Raymond lowered the flowers to reveal his pouting face where his mouth faked a downward U.
Michelle poked her two fingers at the two end of his mouth and drew them upwards.
“Lunch?” he asked again in the smile she forced him into.
“Fine… let’s go,” she gave in picking her handbag and snuggled in next to him.

“Wow… isn’t this a bit too… extravagant for… lunch?” Michelle hissed to Raymond as he pulled her into a 5 star Western Cuisine penthouse restaurant.
Raymond winked at her but said nothing. A waitress bowed at Raymond and led them to the seat he had reserved. Raymond pulled her chair and seated her. The environment was a tad too formal that Michelle felt a little uneasy.
Raymond dismissed the waitress after their order.
“Ray… I’m... suffocating in this place…” Michelle whined softly trying to ignore the waitresses and waiters who all seemed to be guarding them.
Raymond laughed at her uneasiness. He did not bother to keep his voice down. “Relax, Mich… It’s our little world here…”
Michelle felt a little better but not much when she caught the stares of the waiters around them. Their meals soon arrived in succession with nicely adjusted intervals. They had just finished their dessert when soft music began filling the air. Michelle’s ears pricked and raised an eyebrow at Raymond. He had already gotten up from his seat.
“May I?” he asked offering a hand.
“Dance? But…” she was about to say others will be watching when she realized there were actually no one else other than themselves.
Michelle accepted his offer and took his hand to dance to the slow romantic music. Raymond seemed to be leading her around the penthouse as they danced. They soon danced to the center of the penthouse, where lights were dimmed and curtains were let down, creating a romantic darkened atmosphere.
“Ray… did you plan all these?” Mich asked looking up to Raymond’s pleasure-filled face.
“Shh… Mich, just enjoy every moment you can…” he hushed her kissing her lightly on her forehead.
Michelle looked at the beautiful surroundings around her and felt like she was the princess dancing with her prince charming in some fairy tale. She closed her eyes enjoying the lovely atmosphere Raymond created and placed her head on Raymond’s chest listening to his surprisingly calm heartbeat.
She felt her soul float in space. She did not hear the scuttling footsteps around them. Neither did she notice that they had stopped swaying around. Raymond was embracing her comfortably in a still position.
Michelle finally fluttered open her eyes when she felt Raymond gently breaking apart. She saw about a dozen of waitresses had encircled them, each holding a shining covered round piece of silverware.
Michelle gave Raymond a nervous questioning look. Please don’t let it be what I think…
Michelle closed her eyes but when Raymond uncovered the lid of the first silverware, she couldn’t help stealing a peep. There was no ring as she had feared. Sitting on the silverware were beautifully arranged folded swans; golden and silver swans. The swans were arranged around a miniature of rose garden. Raymond left her side to walk around, picking up all the other lids revealing a variety of arrangement.
“Ray…” she was speechless at the sight.
“There are a thousand swans all together…” Raymond returned to her side holding her hands. “But you will always be my most beautiful swan…”
Holding her hand Raymond led her to have a clearer look at the surprise swans and roses arrangements he made for her. Michelle got closer and walked one circle before realizing the combination of the variable arrangements spelled ‘Raymond *heart* Michelle’.
“You… you made these yourself?” she asked.
“I folded each and every swan repeating ‘I love you’ each time. I had some professional help for the floral arrangement though,” he confessed.
He led her back to the largest formation, the one that was a *heart* shape. Michelle gazed amusingly at the beautiful arrangement. Her fingers couldn’t refrain themselves from touching the delicate arrangement. It was when she accidentally tipped the single swan on top of the heart that a sparkle reflection caught her eyes. Gasping, she finally spotted that it had a diamond ring hanging loosely on its long neck. She turned to look at Raymond, but he was already on his knees. The waiter holding the arrangement handed Raymond the swan.
“Will you marry me Michelle Yip Suen?” he asked with the most sincere expression on his face.
Michelle’s heart beat so fast she couldn’t breath. “I…” She resorted to a nod.
Raymond’s anxious face shone with eternal bliss. He quickly unhooked the ring from the swan and slipped it into Michelle’s delicate finger. He got up from his kneeling position.
He held her closed and bent down to kiss her. “I love you Michelle, for longer than an entire lifetime… for longer than a thousand lifetimes to come…”
