ummm...here's the update...

Nancy knocked on the glass door and saw the entire thing. She realized that Leila was apparently engaged or even married when she appeared at the front desk asking for Ron. Was this a little love affair that her boss was having? Though she wondered if it were true she hoped it weren’t because she too had fallen for him. Was it his smile? Or the odd remarks that he would say?
Before she really got lost in her little train of thought she knocked the door and as she did so Leila had let go of Ron. Ron made a motion with hands that Nancy understood to come in.
Ron: What is it Nancy?
Nancy: Your meeting is going to start in 10 minutes Ron
Ron smiled: Thank you…I’ll be out there soon
Ron turned to Leila who was now flushed red being caught in an embrace with Ron by Nancy. She turned away as soon as Ron’s gaze had met hers…too embarrassed by her previous actions.
Nancy: Ok then…I guess I’ll be leaving now
Ron: Ok
After Nancy had left Ron’s office…and eerie silence fell across the room…until…
Leila: I better get going and plus you have a meeting…umm…remember the next session is…
Ron nodded and smiled: Don’t worry…I got it memorized by now
As he said so she had walked away and towards the door followed by Ron who was going to go for the meeting.
Ron assisted by Nancy walked into the boardroom as the many other people were just settling down. In the boardroom were two other very important people other than Ron’s dad. Each of these people together owned 40% of the corporation and if they tried they could possibly overthrow Sek Sau and his son, Ron. At the head of the table sat Sek Sau with a black folder in hand, when he saw his son he smiled and motioned him to take a seat to his left.
Ron went over and sat down like his father had motioned, beside him was the head of one of the departments, a man that was older than Ron by the name of Derek Wan he had been working for the company over 5 years now and it seemed as though it was yesterday when he just started out as an OA. Sek Sau who immediately saw his potential and talent gave him many opportunities, which got him to where he is today.
Across from Ron sat one of the owners of the company who had 25% was a man the same age as Sek Sau by the name of John Chiang. And beside him was his one and only son, Chris. The father and son are nothing alike, in personality. John is always trying to win over the company while Chris is always laid back and half of the time is roaming the office building talking to random people and cracking jokes here and there. Though Chris’ personality may lead you to think that he is useless, he in fact is the head of Design. A talented ‘kid’ Sek Sau liked to call him for he was.
Beside Derek sat the man that owned 15% of the company by the name of Bowie Lam. Ron knew Bowie, he knew him since high school, just because he was Raymond’s older brother. Bowie is the only reason why John is still unsuccessful at overthrowing Sek Sau. Accordingly many years ago the Lam’s and the Chiang were great friends but something had happened and the families are more like enemies than friends. Bowie who kept his promise with his father to never join the Chiang’s plans decided to side with Sek Sau instead.
The business world is quite complex especially when it is so superficial. And also there were many other people sitting there...but none were as important in the eyes of Ron.
Sek Sau: There are three things that need to be discussed today; the first is that our company is planning on expanding into the mainland.
John: I think that, that is a fantastic idea and heard recently there is a piece of land being auctioned off this Friday and the starting price is…only $10 000 000.
Sek Sau: And so I’ve heard, I’m planning on sending Derek to the auction
Derek: I’ll do as I can sir
John: But…I thought maybe I can go there seeing I’ve been on these things many times and plus…
Sek Sau: No…I’ve made up my mind…and I believe that Derek has enough sufficient information and understanding to handle it. The next item on the list is the design of the new hotel, which we spoke of at our previous meeting…Chris?
Chris: Oh? Right…the design…well I’ve started the layout and rough sketch of how it will look like, and if you can give me about a week time or so I do believe I can show you the prototype.
Sek Sau: That’s great
John: You see my son has been working every single night on the design…
Chris nudged his dad: Dad…stop it…
Sek Sau: And the last item on the list is…our company’s 30th anniversary, which is coming up very soon…
Bowie: I’ve contacted the many other companies to join us on the day of, and I’ve also booked the hall and everything should be ready by then. I’ve also decided that we should invite all of our employees to the event rather than just the head of departments and managers. It would make our company seem as though we care and respect everyone of every single class.
Sek Sau smiled: That would be fantastic. Rather than celebrate this wonderful day with a few, we can let the entire company enjoy it.
John: But what if those lowly-life from packaging, shipping or even those dirty construction workers embarrass us. Do you really think that we can afford to lose face at such a glamorous event?
Chris: Dad, the people in those departments are great people
John: I’m not talking to you
Chris: But…
Sek Sau: Let’s stop the argument…I think that Bowie’s idea is great, and I don’t think you should call them lowly-life after all we too started from the bottom up. All right, before the meeting is over, is there anything else you would like to add? Ron you’ve been silent for the entire meeting…
Ron: Well…I was thinking about something else, about our investing…maybe we should expand not just in China but even in Europe and parts of the US, Canada or even Australia…we don’t want to only restrict ourselves to Asia…we won’t be able to make a big name for ourselves…
Sek Sau smiled proudly: There’s always a possibility of expanding to other places…but son…remember we should take it one step at a time…
Ron nodded: Yes dad.
Sek Sau: Anything else?
It was silent, which meant that the meeting was officially over. Walking out of the room John snickered at Bowie who gave a very arrogant smile and went off. Maybe this was their ritual trying to make the other person’s idea look bad at every single meeting…
After the meeting Ron headed back to his office…he took a seat on his chair and stared outside to the wonderful view…he soon dozed off…
~Dream~
Man: take this boy inside
Boys: Yes master
For some reason these older boys were brainwashed by this man…
He was scared… all he wanted was his mommy…he wanted her to come and tell him it was another nightmare but nothing happened. Instead as he went in he heard the screams and cries of many others, not only children but adult as well…
The man came in with a whip in one hand and a knife in the other…
Man: Imperfect humans…a waste of food, money and clothing…let me do everyone a favor and end your lives!
The people around him just continued to scream and shout and cry as the he hurried himself into a little corner.
Boy: Mommy!
~End~
Ron suddenly woke up with a cold sweat…he was scared…his pulse was increasing…and he knew that, that wasn’t any normal dream…it was his past…a past that scarred him for life.
He wanted these recurring dreams to end…he wanted to end now…he had enough of it, enough of those haunting dreams that he had monthly. He was scared and didn’t know how to get rid of them…he knew as a fact that if this continued…people would find out…find out about the voice…find out about his weakness…
He grabbed his cell phone and called Leila.
Leila: Hello?
Ron: You got to help me
Leila: But I am…am I not?
Ron: No…it’s something else…it’s
At that moment Nancy walked in followed by Tavia who was all smiley and dressed up. Realizing that they had a plan on going on a double date this evening he had to say goodbye to Leila before even telling her what the problem was.
Tavia: Ron! How do I look?
Nancy: Ms. Yeung here said that…
Ron smiled: Don’t worry about it…I know what she’s here for…
Ron got up and walked over to Tavia he jumped into his arms. Nancy watching what was going on in front of her felt uneasy realizing that Ron not only had one but two both very lovely women come visit him on the same day both throwing themselves into his arms.
Nancy thinking to herself: I guess I’m not meant for him after all…
She heaved a non audible sigh and walked out
Tavia eventually realized the cold sweat on Ron’s forehead decided to ask him what’s wrong
Ron: I had a bad dream…that’s all
Tavia: Oh…it’s one of those nightmares of yours right?
Ron nodded and walked over to the couch with Tavia
Tavia: So if you’re not in the mood for a date tonight…I’ll call him and we can cancel it…
Ron: No…I’ll be fine…and this is the only way I can help you to get over him…
Tavia hugged him again and then gave him a peck on the cheek: Thank you Ron
Ron smiled: No problem…
Tavia: So was I interrupting you when I came in?
Ron: No…it’s ok…

yes i kno...there were no cute moments at all...but i wanted to also reveal a subplot into this fanfic...rather than making it all lovey dovey...if u kno wat im saying. So now u kno more about the ppl ron works with and how everything functions...the lil conflict inside the company that will become...i think i'll stop there before i reveal a lil too much of wat i have planned =D
plz...continue to support the pair that u want in this fanfic...or else i might make the decision on my own...lol
