He turns around with red eyes. The old couple wears a heartwarming smile to face Raymond. Mr. Sheh gives Raymond a big hug which took him by surprise, "Raymond Lam? My daughter, Niki told us all about you. Thank you so much for taking care of our Charmaine."
Raymond smiles softly and nods his head, "I love your daughter. You don't have to thank me." Mrs. Sheh's eyes swollen from crying earlier when she got the news about Charmaine, also gives Raymond a hug. "I can't believe our little girl found herself such a wonderful man. Its great that you don't mind her condition."
Just when he opens his mouth to answer Mrs. Sheh, the doctor along with a nurse walks out of Charmaine's room. They all rush to the doctor and starts swarming him. "Please everyone calm down. Who is Miss Sheh's family?" Asked the doctor. Niki and them quickly tell him so he can get straight to the point.
"Well as you all know she got into a car accident and when she got sent in she is already in a critical condition. She got some scratches and other minor injuries on her body, but the most serious is her head injury. She hit her head pretty hard, and now I'm afraid..."
The sudden pause in the doctor's sentence makes the suspense the worst feeling they can ever feel. It is worst than getting pierced with a knife; Raymond has it the worst as each second goes by that the doctor doesn't say anything it feels like a thousand knives run through his heart.
"I'm afraid Miss Sheh is now in a coma, we aren't sure for how long will she be in it. Only time can tell. But some good news, her condition right now is stabilized. Its just when will she wake up, is completely up to her now." The doctor explains as he walks away.
All of them rushes right into Charmaine's room and the first to enter is Raymond. After so long he finally gets to see her beautiful face again. Raymond slowly moves to her bedside and takes hold of her hand. He presses her hand against his face.
Raymond's tears slowly starts to emerge once again as he watches his lover sleep away for who knows how long. Though with Nancy's sudden attitude change, her love for her sister never died as her tears start to rush down her cheeks.
"Charmaine...please wake up, Raymond Gor Gor is here with you now. I'm ready to play with you, I'll play anything you want as long as you...you...wake up. Please..." Raymond said weakly hoping his voice can reach her and pull her away from the darkness that has engulfed her.

After everyone got to see Charmaine, their hearts calmed down a little. But they just can't ease themselves up enough to go around living their lives normally knowing Charmaine is stuck in a coma. While Raymond told everyone to go home and rest, he himself stays behind and looks after Charmaine.
Raymond's eyes bloodshot from all the lack of rests. When ever he finishes feeding himself he will go up to Charmaine's room and talk to her. "Hey Charmy, can you hear me? Its Raymond Gor Gor, I really hope you can hear my voice. I've spent the whole day at the hospital and I finally get to see how harsh life really is for some. Especially you, I hope you can wake up and help me cheer these people up?"
A knock on the door came and breaks Raymond's constant stare at the sleeping beauty. Nancy walks in with a bouquet of flowers for Charmaine. Raymond gets up not yet knowing Nancy's true intent, asks her to leave and not bother Charmaine.
"Ray please I'm not here to cause any trouble for Charmy. I'm her sister and I love her. I know my behavior for the past couple of weeks is really unacceptable." Raymond's heart softens as he hears her sincere words. "Did you eat yet? Hows about we go downstairs for a quick bite?"

After they got a quick meal from down at the cafeteria the two former couple goes up to the hospital roof. The two didn't exchange much words but instead exchanged glances at each other. While Raymond stares blankly into the night sky where the stars are twinkling, Nancy finally brings up the courage to speak.
Raymond turns to face her with that not of a angry or hate filled face but a warm smile that she loved so much. "Ray I want to apologize to you about the way I acted and what I did to have you back by my side. Its just ever since I met you, I knew I was madly in love with you."
He chuckles as he felt the same way when he first met her. "I remember when I first lay eyes on you in the bar. I don't remember what happened afterwards but I ended up in your bed. I was truly grateful that you took such great care of me and I still am. I was madly in love with you too, but I didn't count on Charmaine's appearance. She just whisked my heart away into her life."
Nancy chuckles softly too as she remembers the past. "Come on why don't we go back downstairs and check up on Charmy." Raymond nods his head as he led the way.

Raymond returned home as Kevin is spending the night over at Niki's. When he walks in the front door the lights were already on, he looks around cautiously again around his own home. A voice that he hates with passion echoes through the air.
Raymond rolls his eyes upon hearing the annoying voice. Mrs. Lam walks out of his room with a bright smile, "hello son how are you feeling? Any good turns for Charmaine?" Raymond plants himself down on the couch, "why do you care all of a sudden? Why are you even here?"
Mrs. Lam exhales as she takes a seat on the couch and looks her son in the eye, "I'm really sorry about what I said at the hospital. I didn't mean to sound so insincere. I was thinking that people don't know what was your situation and might laugh at you. Your my son I don't want that."
He sighs as he relaxes his back on his couch. "I guess...I guess my tone was a little harsh I'm sorry mom. Its just that I am so worried about Charmaine, even though she is not in a life threatening condition anymore. I'm just so scared because I don't know how long she will stay like that."
Mrs. Lam moves closer to her son and strokes his head lightly, like she did when he was a little kid. "Listen I don't know why your so cold to me but I just want you to know that when ever you need your mother, I'm here right by your side all the way. Also about Linda, she talked to me earlier. She told me how much she loves you, but she also knows how much you love Charmaine. So I won't force her on you anymore, nor does she want me to."
Raymond looks up at his mother with a bright smile that Mrs. Lam hasn't seen directed at her for a long time. "Do you want to know why I'm so cold to you? When I was 16, I came home early one day from soccer practice and I saw you in the bedroom with another man."
Mrs. Lam gasps with terrible shame, "I...I didn't know you saw us...I..." Raymond stops his mother before she can finish, "do you know why I never exposed you to dad and them? I heard you were going to break it up with that guy and end it forever with him. Though you did the right thing in the end, you still had to do the wrong thing in order to do the right thing. I hated you for cheating on dad."
Mrs. Lam shakes her head with great shame as she tries to look her son in the eye, "I'm really sorry Ray. I was foolish and naive back than but I finally realized my mistakes. I know what I did is unforgivable, but its been so many years. Do you think you can at least try to be...less cold to me?"
A short moments thought and Raymond nods his head. Mrs. Lam so happy she almost burst into tears. "Ray, Linda is waiting downstairs for you. She wanted to see how you were doing." Said Mrs. Lam after she contains her tears. Raymond looks at her mother when he thought that came out of no where.

Raymond walks out of the lobby and there Linda stands, leaning against her car. She smiles happily at the sight of him and waves. Raymond walks up to her, "Linda what are you doing here? Its late, 3:00 am is coming. Just like last time."
Linda shakes her head with a smile. She pulls Raymond into her arms and squeezes him hard. Raymond's face looking puzzled as his mind floods with questions, "Linda...what are you? My mom said you won't..." Linda stops him from saying more. She pulls away from him and plants a soft kiss on his lips.
Raymond pulls away quickly, "Linda what are you doing? You said you won't force me like this anymore..." Linda places her finger over his lips, "I know, I'm not. I just want to hold you in my arms and feel your lips pressed up against mine, just once. So I won't live with regret when Charmaine wakes up."
He grins after Linda explained why she did what she did. "Thank you Linda, we may not be able to be a couple. But we will always be the best of friends."
