Chapter 14

War

~*~Linzi's POV~*~

I walked through the door of room 6732 as the clock stuck 9 exactly.

"Hello?" I called into the dark empty room I had never stepped foot in the whole time I had attended this school.

"Linzi?" Asked a voice.

"Miss Kim?" I asked when she suddenly stepped into the light.

"You're on time" She smiled as I nodded and walked into the room shutting the door behind me.

"So are you" I answered back grinning which I was more surprised about.

"Well I thought since this is a special class I might aswell make it on time, or early should I say" She shrugged as I nodded.

"Where is Key, isn't he coming?" She asked as I nodded.

"Key will be here later. He has something to do first but he'll be here" I assured her as Miss Kim nodded.

"That's good" She smiled turning to look around the curcular room.

The room itself wasn't that extravigant.

I thought it would be a special room since this was a special class.

The room walls were carved into a circular formation, painted white while the cold hard floor on the other hand looked golden showing me my reflection from the floors point of view.

Real gold perhaps?.

The white walls were bare except for the 6 banners hung seperatly around the room.

Each banner was made up of different type of fabrics and different type of shades of a certain colour.

Blue, Red, Brown, Silver, Black and White.

I stared at them curiously.

"Them banners were made centuries ago. They are each guarded by the powers of the elements and no harm can be done to them. They're special. The colours represence the elements that they are. Blue for Water, Brown for Earth, Red for Fire, Silver for Air, Black for Dark and White for Light" Miss Kim said looking at the banners aswell.

"They're beautiful" I said accidently when Miss Kim chuckled.

"Say. Has anyone ever told you of how the Elements became extinct?" Miss Kim asked as I looked at her before shaking my head in replie.

"No, People just say that they died out. I never knew there was a reason for it though" I answered as Miss Kim nodded slowly.

"I suppose that might be the case. People don't really like remembering a past that killed so many people. My father used to be one of those people but he would always tell me the story when I asked. He didn't like speaking about it because my grandfather was one of the people who died during the war" Miss Kim explained as I looked at her questioningly.

"War?" I asked curiously.

"Yes. A long time ago as you well know Elemental's were not extinct. You might say people came across them quite frequently. They were higher ranked in the gifted community. They were looked upon as great leaders and fighters for peace, they never took for granted of how other people looked at them. They just acted normal around the less higher ranked people and for that they were loved. However there was dark man, a man who hated people with more power than him. He had the power of mind control and wanted power for himself. More power than just the gift he was born with. For years he planned and plotted against the Elementals without them knowing. Gathered followers, some willing to believe his lies and some unwillingly taken in with his power to control them. The man was an evil man. Jung Shinjoo. Eventually he had enough followers and created an army to help him over throw the elementals. Each of his followers had their own special gift and with their powers combined they became a very powerful army. Once word got out to the elementals about this new army they had no other choice but to go to war to protect themselves and their familys. The people who didn't buy his lies knew that if he did somehow manage to over power the Elementals their powers would be his for the taking aswell. The war went on for years. Many people were killed and destroyed because of that evil, vile man who only had a thirst for more power. He willingly killed familys of the elementals to stop the bloodline from passing the elemental gift down to younger generations. He also killed anyone who was willing to stand in his path. Before long it seemed like he was pretty unstoppable as his army grew bigger and bigger through days that passed. Eventually the 6 highest ranks of the gifted community had no other option. Jung Shinjoo was unstoppible by then. That was no secret but with their powers combined they were able to trap him within his own mind. It was a long shot with many new lives lost but they managed to put an end to the man who had caused so much misery. As a thank you from the family's that had lost so many loved ones during the war they made these banners to represent each 6 elements that belongs to each higher ranked elemental solidor that were able to stop and put an end to the war. Of course eventually the 6 elementals died over time and unfortunatly their familys had been the ones that were killed to stop the next generations from becoming elementals aswell so the elements eventually died out, the last being my father. Some say that the spirits of the elementals that fought the great war actually became a part of the their banners, some say that it's just a myth" Miss Kim shrugged as I looked at her then at the banners.

"What do you think?" I asked softly as Miss Kim smiled.

"It seems pretty far fetched for me but I'd like to think that they became part of the banner because people say that if Jung Shinjoo should ever rise again and create another war then the elementals shall also rise again to fight once more. Although they do say it would take a very powerful elemetal to summon them again but I don't think Jung Shinjoo is someone we should worry about. It's been years since the war and I don't think Jung Shinjoo has got a cat in hell chance of escaping his own mind" Miss Kim smiled as I nodded looking once more at the banners.

"Well, that's enough for the history lesson. Are you ready to learn how to control those powers of yours and to discover if you have any more that you don't know about yet?" She asked as I sighed turning back around to face her as she now stood on the golden floor in the middle of the circular room.

"Bring it on" I grinned walking into the middle of the room to join her.

~*~Key's POV~*~

"You're dumping me?" Yoobin asked for the 5th time in shock.

I bit my lower lip.

This is why I hated getting girlfriends in the first place.

It was always so depressing to see their face when you broke up with them.

"I-I don't understand" Yoobin stuttered as I sighed.

Join the club.

I myself didn't understand why I was doing this.

Yoobin was gorgeous and not to mention popular but that wasn't enough for me.

She had hurt one of my friends and okay I should be used to that after dating her for god knows how long now but it was different now.

When I saw the look on Linzi's face as she hit the floor and the instant knowing of what Yoobin was doing to her, it changed everything.

She had hurt Linzi.

"Listen. I know your upset right now but it will get better. I think we're just too different. Yeah we used to be great together but we-I've changed and I don't think this is going to work anymore" I said about to pat her on the sholder but then decided agaisnt it.

I might be able to protect myself from her power but not her physically attacking me.

I wouldn't put it past Yoobin to do that either.

"Is this because of that new girl?" She suddenly asked making me step back.

"Why would it be?" I asked as Yoobin suddenly giggled.

"So then, you wouldn't mind if I go pay her a little visit?" She asked about to walk of when I grabbed her wrist.

Yoobin's head snapped back in my direction.

"So it is about her?" She asked as I sighed looking to floor.

"Just stay away from her. She has nothing to do with this" I mumbled when Yoobin laughed again.

"I've never seen you like this before Key. I've never seen so much fear in your eyes, it makes you look weak. It makes it almost unbearable to look at you. I can't promise I'll stay away from her though. How else can I get my revenge on her for stealing you away from me?" Yoobin smirked at me as I looked back up at her.

"See you later" She whispered walking away without giving me a chance to protest against her last sentence.

Great, I think I just got Linzi into more trouble with Yoobin.

Way to go Key.

How the hell was I going to ask her out now?.

'Oh hey Linzi wanna go out on a date with me?, oh by the way just to warn you, my phsyco ex-girlfriend kinda has it in for you now so watch your back'

Yeah, that conversation should go smoothly.
