The ringing of the alarm clock woke Gallen up. He swiftly turned it off. Rubbing his eyes with his left hand, he turns to his right and put on a bright smile. Flora was sleeping soundly on his right hand, which had stayed numbed for hours. He tilted his face and gave a peck on her face, and she opens her eyes slowly.
“Good morning.” She whispered gently and returned a peck on his face.
“Good morning.” He smiles broadly. “Hey, you lazy piggy… Don’t sleep again, we’ll be late!” He objects as she closes her eyes and lies back into position.
“Just give me 5 more minutes, ok?” She begs sweetly while closing her eyes, “And I’ll be up, Boss!”
He tightens his right hand and hugs her endearingly in his embrace, while she turns lazily and lies herself on him warmly. The clock seems to tick astonishingly fast today, and Gallen whispers into her ears, “Time’s up, dear!” He runs his fingers through her silky hair while Flora disobediently hugs him tighter. “It’s already 7.40 a.m.! We’ll be really late if you still don’t get up!” Gallen strokes her hair smilingly.
He gets up and carries Flora in his arms. She opens her eyes.
“Where are you bringing me to?” Flora inquired as she puts her hands around his neck for support. He flashed her a smile without answering.
He then put her down in front of the mirror in the washroom. “Wash up now, quick!” He ordered. “I’ll wait for you outside.” He turns around and was about to walk out of the washroom.
“Lou Gong!” She calls out and he turns around, “What’s the matter now?”
“Let’s wash up together!” Playfully, Flora turns on the tap and splashes the water on him, leaving his face completely wet. She cracks out naughtily.
Wiping the water off his face, he squinted and leans forward to carry her up. “How dare you! I’ll throw you into the pool!” He carries her and runs towards the sliding glass in their room, and opened it.
“Help! Put me down please! I won’t do it again, Lou Gong! Help!” She shouted, fidgeting in his arms. “We’ll be late for work, put me down!” She tried hard to influence his decision.
“Let’s see whether you dare to do this again!” He said smugly as he signals to throw her into the water, standing by the pool.
“I’ll hold on to you tightly, if I’m in, you’re in too!” She pouted as she tightened her hands around his neck.
“Hey you’re strangling me!” The little struggle between them finally threw both of them into the water.
Rising above the water surface, they looked at each other and chuckled. Engaging in their little water-splashing activity, the couple seems to forget about reporting to work.

It was 11 a.m. and yet Gallen hasn’t reported to work. Jessica stared at her watch impatiently and sits fidgety in her seat.
“What’s the matter, Jess?” Moses asked in a concern tone as he passed by Jessica’s desk.
“Gallen! He is still not here yet, and I called him on the phone but nobody answered. There’s a meeting at 11.30 a.m. later! He…”
“Good morning, everybody!” Gallen said smilingly as he walks in hand in hand with Flora.
“Gallen? You have a meeting at 11.30 a.m., have you prepared…” Jessica spoke anxiously.
“Calm down Jess, you haven’t greeted us yet!” Gallen said teasingly with a serious look on his face.
She took a short breath and smiled. “Good morning Mr. and Mrs. Lo. Now can I talk to you regarding the meeting?” Jess stared at him.
“Sure, let’s go to my office.” He smiled broadly, letting go of Flora’s hand, “See you later, dear.”
“Okay, get on with your work.” Flora replied smilingly.
Flora utters a soft cry as Moses gives her a slight knock on her head.
“Ouch! What’s that for, Gor?” She protested.
“What are you two up to? Fancy reporting to work at such a late hour! Do you know that Jessica was so uptight about it?” He pauses and continues, “Gallen had always been a responsible person, so it must be you again! When will you grow up and treat your work seriously, Flora?”
She stared at him, pouting. “How dare you lecture your lady boss! I’ll ask Gallen to fire you!”
“Oh yeah!” He gave her a smirk. “Now come with me, I have something to discuss with you.”
“HT?” She rolls her eyes. “Not again!”

It was a quarter to six. Flora sat comfortably in her office, after hours of analyzing statistics, she surely need some rest. Her mind drifted…

“Hey, wait for me, I’m out of breath, Flora!” Gallen spoke breathlessly behind her.
She stopped and turned around. “You should really exercise more, boss!”
“Of course I’m not as energetic as you!”
“Quick, we’re almost there!” She shouted excitedly as she runs up the hill anxiously.
In a minute, he joined her on the hill. They waited patiently for the sun to rise from it’s sleep.
“Looks like the sun is as lazy as you!” Gallen said teasingly. “Perhaps…”
“No! It will be out soon!” She protested.
Just as she had wished, the first ray of the sun hit right on the ground and rejuvenated the young couple. She closes her eyes enjoying the moment while he puts his arms around her.
“Flora…” Gallen broke the silence with his words, taking out a small box from his right pocket.
She opens her eyes and turns to look at him. Opening the box, he flashed a sparkling diamond ring before her, with arms still around her. “Will you marry me? I promise I’ll take care of you, forever.”
“What kind of a proposal is this? No flowers, and lacks sincerity…” She grinned.
“If you like flowers I could get you a shop of them later. Meanwhile, agree me first!” He said gently, and takes out the ring. “Isn’t this ‘sincerity’ good enough?”
“Who wants to marry you? Shameless guy!” She teased, biting her lips smilingly.
He slides the ring skillfully into her fourth finger, “Now you’ve accepted it, you can’t go back on your words!”
“No, that’s not counted!”
She tried to pull out the ring, but he had caught her hands and secured them in his.
“You’re being cunning here!” She tried to struggle out of it but he turned her around and secured her lips with his. Silence regained.

She opens her eyes and smiled, twisting the little ring on her finger. She had worn it for almost a year, and time seems to fly. Someone knocked on her door and entered.
“We’re going for dinner, Lou Po. Quick, clear up the mess and join us!” Gallen remarked as he shook his head upon seeing the mess on Flora’s table. “Let me help you with it!” He approached her desk and stacked up the documents neatly. Soon, they were done with it and went ahead for dinner.

“I should have known better than to tag along!” Moses commented teasingly as Gallen and Flora were feeding each other with different flavors of their ice-cream.
“Someone is whining away. Where’s my future sister-in-law? Isn’t she free to accompany you today?” Flora enquired.
“If she was I wouldn’t be playing gooseberry here!”
“Ignore him!” She whispered to Gallen. “I’ll go to the washroom.” She stood up and proceeded.
Gallen smilingly watched her until she was out of sight.
“I really take my hat off to you sometimes!” Moses shook his head.
“What?”
“Only you could take this willful princess in hand! I wonder how you could survive under her thumb!”
Gallen chuckled. “She’s a bit childish, but adorable too. Hey buddy, you shouldn’t speak bad of your sister to your brother-in-law, should you?” He added.
“I think if she wasn’t your wife you would have fired her long ago! Look at how many mistakes she’d made for the one and a half year she was in the company!” Moses sighed.
“Well, I think she’d fortunate to have a good brother covering up for her and assisting her every time.” Gallen replied smilingly.
“Nope,” He waved his finger in front of him and added, “I would say she is fortunate enough to have a good husband like you!”
