“Why aren’t you eating? I thought you love the steak here?” She questions while munching her food.
“Just thinking about something else.” He cast her a glance while sipping the white wine in his hand.
“Too much wine isn’t good for an empty stomach!” She advised.
“You’re right.” He smiles, and put down the glass, picking up the cutlery. “Hmm, the steak looks savory!”
“Finally, you’re eating!” She smiles back.
“Maggie, I think you should find a boyfriend soon.” He suddenly spoke up.
“Do you find it a boring affair to dine with me?” She was a bit disappointed.
“Nope, but I thought that a good girl like you should deserves more attention than this.” He said.
“Let me tell you a story.” Maggie looked at him.
“Ok.” He nodded.
“Long long ago, there was a girl who sells handkerchiefs at a roadside stall. Everyday there will be this man who passes by the stall on his way to work. The girl would always steal glances at the handsome man.” She paused a bit.
“And she likes him?” He asked.
“Yeah. She knew that he would pass by her stall almost the same time everyday, so rain or shine, she would set up her stall just to take a glance at him, and she’s satisfied.” Maggie continued.
“What a silly girl!” He remarked.
“One day, he saw him dropping his handkerchief which got dirtied. She was so glad as he was walking nearer to her stall to get a new one. He walked up to her and smiled, then took his time to choose the handkerchief he wanted. She was anxious and hopes he will choose the one with a pair of butterflies sewn on it.” Maggie was getting a bit engrossed as shown on her face.
“Why?” He asked.
“She sewn it for him, and had kept it for a long time, dreaming how one day they would be like the butterflies.”
“She’s really silly, he don’t even know her.” He smiled.
“In the end the man bought two handkerchiefs from her, and he seems to fancy the butterfly one a lot. Guess what she asked him?” He asked.
“No idea.” He shrugs.
“Who is it for?” She said, and continued. “Then he answered it’s for his girlfriend, whom he had known for less than a month.”
“Oh, the girl must be shattered.” Bowie made a face.
“After his sentence, a girl joined the man, it was his girlfriend, and then they walked away happily, leaving the sad girl behind.” She took a deep breath and asked. “Do you know what the moral of this story is?”
“Never be contented selling handkerchiefs by the roadside?” He tried to joke.
She chuckled and rolled her eyes, “Hey that’s lame!” then she continues, “The moral is, Strike while the iron is hot. The man had known his girlfriend only for less than a month, yet the girl had known him much longer than that. If she have at least try to get know him, she could have been his girlfriend instead.”
“Oh…” He suddenly realized.
“Hmmm… do you get me?” Maggie talked and cast him occasional glances.
“Huh, about me?” She nodded, he resumed. “Better late than never?”
She nodded slightly.
“I think I get what you mean. Thanks for your encouragement! I need to go now.” He stood up and made his way out.
“Huh?” Maggie was bewildered.
Bowie ran back and placed some bills on the table. “Thanks again, Maggie!” He threw a wink before leaving the restaurant.
Maggie let out a soft and confused chuckle.

Ada walked up to Jessica’s desk and gave a pat on her shoulder which alerted her to turn around.
“Hi, Ada, what’s up?” Jessica said cheerfully.
“Nope, just decided to drop in and say ‘sorry’ on behalf of Flora.” She shows a naughty grin, “And why is my dear friend so excited today?”
“Huh? Hmm... Nothing…” She giggled to herself.
“No, there must be something!” Ada giggled and looked at Jessica.
“No, hmmm… what did you say you was here for?” She tried to avoid the topic.
“I said I want to apologize to you on behalf of Flora, she’s quite nasty that day, you know… Ummm… really sorry about that.” She sounded apologetic. “But it’s all misunderstandings, and they have been cleared up!”
“No wonder Gallen is feeling better and better these days… look at him!” She pointed to her boss in the pantry. “Smiling to himself…” Jessica grinned.
“But you look cheery yourself, Jess!” Ada narrows her eyes, “There must be something I’m not aware of, tell me quick, quick quick!” She demanded while giving her a little push. “Come on, Jess…”
“Ummm………” she was hesitating.
Ada pouted and pretended to be angry. “Now you are not treating me as a friend!”
“I didn’t mean that…” She spoke hastily. “Hmm… Ok… I’m seeing someone later…”
“Oh…. Louis?” She teased.
“Emmm, yes…” Then she widened her eyes, apparently surprised by something she had seen. “Flora?”
“Huh?” Ada turned around and saw her friend meeting up with Gallen and went off together happily.
“They got back together? Since when?” Jessica looked bewilderedly at Ada.
“God knows!” Ada was apparently shocked too.

Gallen and Flora were strolling on a certain level of a shopping mall.
“Thanks for lending me a hand, or else I wouldn’t know where to get the stuffs.” She turns and smiles at him.
“This had always been my task, you can’t depend on Moses or Ada, and they’re hopeless when it comes to computers’ stuffs.”
“You’re right!”
“Give me a minute.” Gallen scurried away to escalator and went a level above.
Flora looked interestingly at the silly fellow who was running hastily into a shop. She was soon disturbed by a pat on her shoulder. She turned around.
“Bowie? What a coincidence!” She remarked.
“Not a coincidence! I followed you here.” He spoke frankly.
“Huh?” She was a bit confused. “Why?”
“Hmmm… I have something to tell you, and something to give you.” He said, and reached for his pockets.
Gallen got what he wanted and exited the shop. He looked down to the spot where Flora was supposed to wait for him, and was rather disappointed to see Bowie talking to Flora. “Have they just met by coincidence?” He thought.
He took bigger steps towards them, at the same time preparing what to say to Bowie. But suddenly he halted. Bowie was holding her hands and whispering something into her ear. She was smiling sweetly. He dropped his little gift onto the floor…
