Chapter 1

She left.

She left;
She has left and she'll never be back by my side.

-

Park LeeTeuk sighed as he looked up at the tree where they had all their wishes tied onto each leaf. LeeTeuk sighed and leaned against the trunk of the tree. He wanted to go back in time and just tell her everything that he has been wanting to tell her before she really left but it was just too late.

-

"LeeTeuk? What's wrong?" He heard a familiar voice call out which broke his train of thoughts as he stared into space. He turned and saw his best friend, Park SooHae looking at him with worry written all over her face. He turned and smiled, shaking his head, telling him that nothing was wrong with him but in actual fact, there was something wrong with him.

He didn't want to tell SooHae because it would just make her worry even more and if she were to worry, she would just do something stupid. For example, when they were ten, Leeteuk told her that something wrong with his leg and it really hurt but they couldn't back out because the play that they were supposed to act in was already starting. When the play started, SooHae actually jumped off the stage and started asking the people around her if they had any ointment or not.

This really shocked Leeteuk and after the play, SooHae had to get scolded instead of him. SooHae wouldn't mind doing anything as long as it made LeeTeuk real happy. Smiling to SooHae, he placed an arm around his best friend. It was getting colder by the minute and he knew that SooHae was sensitive to the cold so he had to keep her warm. It was time he paid her back for everything that she has done for him. They watched the sunset together as usual. They were smiling to themselves, enjoying each others company secretly.

Once the sun had set, LeeTeuk turned to look at SooHae but she had already fell asleep. Chuckling, he carried her up, bridal style. Walking down the hill carefully, he glanced at the tree one last time and muttered the words, "Please grant my wish."

Walking away, he carried her until they reached her house first, which was not so far away from the hill. After all, SooHae was the one who always brought LeeTeuk there and paste all their wishes there. Smiling to himself, he hit the doorbell so that someone would open the door for them. Once the door opened, LeeTeuk saw Mrs Park there. "Come in," Mrs Park said, trying to sound normal but in actual fact, she couldn't even hid the tinge of sadness that was in her voice.

He walked in and placed SooHae in her room before walking down the stairs to meet Mrs Park again. She waved over to him to make him sit on the couch beside her. Walking over, he sat down and looked down at his fingers, expecting some bad news coming his way.

"LeeTeuk-shii... I know that you really love her but."

"I can't stay with her for long?" LeeTeuk continued her sentence for her and looked at Mrs Park right in the eye.

"I'm sorry Leeteuk-shii. There was nothing that we could all do. It's rather too late." She said as tears rolled down her cheeks.

"It's alright Mrs Park but for the remaining time left, can I still stay by her side and when the time has come, can I be the one to send her off?" He asked.

"Of course." Mrs Park said as she smiled.

As LeeTeuk bade goodbye to Mrs Park, he didn't notice that a certain someone was watching as well, bidding goodbye to her best friend from inside her room. Tears were rolling down her cheeks non-stop as she drew the curtains close.

-

As the days pass by, SooHae and LeeTeuk acted as normal as ever but SooHae grew more quiet and not to mention weaker. She kept coughing and she slept more and more until she started to miss the sunset. LeeTeuk became more and more worried but there was nothing he could do at all. He couldn't turn back time and send her to the doctors. There was just nothing he could do but to stay by her side; that was the least he could do for her.

LeeTeuk knew that one day, he had to watch the sunset alone.

-

"Time waits for no one." SooHae voiced out all of a sudden.

"Hmm?" LeeTeuk asked.

"Time waits for no one, LeeTeuk." Soohae said as she placed her head on his shoulder.

"I know that. Why all of a sudden?" He asked as curiosity engulfed him.

"Nothing. I just wanted to check if you remembered." SooHae said.

"I do remember and I always will." LeeTeuk assured as he pecked his best friend's head softly.

Then, he heard her cough. Her head slipped down from his shoulder and onto his lap.

"SooHae? SooHae!" He called out.

There was no response.

He took her hands and felt something wet and when he looked at his hand, there was blood on it. He turned his best friend's body and saw blood all over her face.

As the sun set, LeeTeuk didn't make a sound but cry as his best friend laid lifeless on his lap. He then saw something fall down beside him from the corner of her eye and when he turned, he saw a note.

He turned, picked it up and read it.

'Dear LeeTeuk, I know you're reading this right now and so I'm telling you now that as you're reading this, I'm already gone. I want you to know that I'll be watching you and I'm always by your side. Through thick and thin. And turn to the other side of this page,' LeeTeuk turned the paper, 'I love you.'

Tears were running down his cheeks as if it was an endless water fall. He couldn't believe he didn't tell her even though he had all the time in the world. For all these years, he didn't listen to the words, 'Time waits for no one'.

He felt stupid and he wanted to kill himself right there and then. He didn't even tell her.

Park SooHae was more than his best friend.

Park SooHae was someone whom he loves so much.

Park SooHae was his other half.

Park SooHae was his sister.

-

Were you guys expecting that?
Haha.
I wasn't either.
The idea just popped into my head because both of them are Parks' and there. I didn't state anywhere that they were lovers, did I?
