"What?" Raymond asked.
"We can call the police!" Rain rushed to the phone booth to contact the police. But when she raised a hand to touch the reciever, it rang.
Rain looked at Raymond. He nodded his head. Rain's hand was shaking as she touched the reciever and held it toward her ear, "He--hello?" Her voice was shaking.
"Don't even think about contacting the police. We will be watching you every step," the person hung up.
Rain looked at Raymond with a scared face.
"What's wrong?" Raymond asked eagerly.
"He called.... He said that we can't call the police."
Raymond sighed deeply. Rain hugged him. "What should we do NOW?!"
"Five million dollars..." Raymond whispered to himself. "I know!" He and Rain broke apart, "We can ask our friends! I know they'll will help us!"
"Who?"
"Michelle and Frankie! C'mon!" He held Rain's hand and led her all the way to his home.
"Hi Mom," Raymond said as he and Rain went through the door of Raymond's apartment.
"Hi Ray! And you must be Rain!" Mrs. Lam smiled sweetly.
Rain looked down.
"What's wrong?"
"Mom... Rain's mom is captured."
"Captured? Then... how much does she need?"
"Five million dollars."
"What?"
Rain sat down on the couch and cried.
Raymond looked at her sadly. "Please Mom. We need to help her."
"I know but... five million dollars!" She sat next to Rain.
"Ding-dong," the doorbell rang.
"I'll get it," Raymond said. He went to open the door. "Frankie? Michelle?"
"Hi buddy," Frankie said and patted his shoulder in a friendly way.
"Hi Michelle. Are you still mad at me?" Raymond asked sadly.
Michelle looked at him and shook her head. The crying Rain took her attention. "Rain?" She walked pass Raymond. He looked really sad. Michelle sat next to Rain and asked her soothingly, "What's wrong?" SHe hugged her.
"Oh Michelle!" Rain said in tears. She hugged her back.
"What is it Rain?" Michelle whispered.
Raymond looked at the pair of them with sad eyes.
"Mom's..." Rain cried some more. "someone captured my mom!"
"What?" Michelle asked surprised.
Frankie went to sit next to Michelle, "How did you know?"
"The kidnapper called and told me to turn in five million dollars in exchange for... my... mom," Rain hiccuped.
Michelle looked at Raymond and stood up, "She's your girlfriend! You're supposed to cheer her up!"
Raymond looked at Rain, "Rain... I..." he walked up to her.
"That's okay Raymond. Im not mad at you."
Raymond smiled. Michelle looked well... depressed.

Two days later, Rain managed to find two million and five hundred thousand dollars. Five hundred from Michelle, another five hundred thousand from Frankie, and one million dollars from Raymond and Mrs. Lam.
"That means..." Michelle said, holding the calculator. She pressed the equal button, "That means we need two million and five hundred thousand dollars left to make a total of five million dollars in cash.
Raymond sighed. "Do you guys have anymore?"
Frankie and Michelle shook their heads disappointedly.
Raymond looked sad. "Uh how about you Mom?"
Mrs. Lam shook her head disappointedly too.
Raymond sighed helplessly.
Rain stood up, "I am very thankful for all you guy helping me. But she's my mom. I'll handle everything. I don't want you guys because of me that you'll start having problems. Please take the money back," she handed the cash back to them.
Raymond stood up too. He held Rain in the hands, "You're my girlfriend and my best friend. I can't just see you suffer like this. Right guys?" He looked at Frankie Michelle.
"Yeah..."
"Definately..."
"Thanks Raymond," Rain whispered. Raymond smiled sweetly. Rain thought that she was the only person in this room to see Raymond smile. She never knew Michelle saw it too.
Now," Raymond said as he held Rain's hand and sat down next to Frankie, "how can we find another two million and five thousand dollars?"
"By us."
Raymond and everyone else turned. There, standing by the door, was Joyce, Louis, and Nancy.
"Why are you guy here?" Frankie asked them, "and how did you guys come in?"
"Well your door wasn't locked and closed properly. So I kind of overheard your conversation..." Joyce smiled.
"That's okay. And what do you mean... by us?"
"We can help you guys," Joyce said and went to sit next to Rain. Nancy and Louis sat next to Mrs. Lam. "Rain, how come you didn't tell us about it? You don't think me as a good friend?"
"No Joyce! I wouldn't!"
Joyce took out two million and five thousand dollars. "Here Rain. Take it."
"No, I can't" Rain pushed the money back to Joyce.
"Rain!" She grasped Rain's hand and putted the money on Rain's palm. "Take it!"
"Yeah, take it," Nancy said.
"Well... thank you Joyce."
Joyce smiled, "Why do you need five million dollars?"
Rain told her the story.
Joyce putted her hand over her mouth. "Oh my god," she said.
"But now, I have five million dollars," Rain said cheerfully. "I can get my mom back!"
They all cheered.
"You know," Louis started, "I was about to give you five million dollars, but I left them at home."
Michelle laughed, "Yeah right!"
"Yeah!" Joyce said, "by then, all the mosquitos will fall asleep!"
Louis twitched his mouth.
