"No!" Rain and Frankie screamed.
Raymond couldn't believe it. He's going to die. Just like that! He will never see his friends and family again. I'm going to die, he thought in pain, no mom, no Frankie, Rain, no Michelle....
He closed his eyes, waiting for the bullet to hit him, waiting to die.... The bullet never came. He opened his eyes, a body laid on the ground before him. The body looks familiar... Michelle!
"No!!!" Jack screamed.
"Michelle!" Raymond screamed in agony. Michelle looks like she managed to free herself from the ropes and blocked the bullet from hitting Raymond. Instead, the bullet hit Michelle. "Michelle!" Raymond screamed again. He turned her body, a deep, red hole was visible on her right shoulder.
"Raymond..." Michelle managed to say in a mere whisper, and fainted.
Raymond's eyes widened, "Michelle? Michelle!"
Rain looked terrified. Franki stared at Michelle's bloody body, "No..." he mumbled quietly.
"Stupid bitch," Jack said. He pointed his gun at Raymond, "good bye, Raymond Lam."
Raymond closed his eyes....
BOOM.
Raymond opened his eyes. He saw Jack's body lying on the floor. He was dead. Raymond couldn't breath. He felt hot and stuffy. What's going on? Did I do that? How come I didn't get shot? "Are you okay?" Raymond looked up. A police officer stood before him, with a worried look on his face.
"I-- I'm fine," Raymond's voice was shaking tremembously. He looked at Michelle, "Ah sir! You've got to save Michelle! She can't be dead!"
At that same time, two men dressed in a white suit carried Michelle out of the room. Raymond stood up and followed them. A police untied Franki's ropes. Frankie quickly followed Raymond. Another police untied Rain and she quickly ran to Jack's body, "Jack Chung!" She shook his body, "Don't be dead! hlet go of his body and cried helplessly. Raymond stopped walking and looked at Rain crying desperately.
He walked toward her, "Rain..."
She slapped him. "Go away! I don't want to see you!" She looked at Jack's body and cried some more.
"Rain... " she ignored him and she ran toward to one of Jack's men. The man was handcuffed and was walking toward the exit with two policemen walking by him.
"Tell me!" She screamed. She held the man's collar and shook him. The two policemen were pulling her away from him, "Where's my mom?!"
"I... don't... know... woman..." the man said. The twom policemen managed to pull her away from him and took her and the man away.
Only Raymond and the police officer he was talking to earliar was left in the room.
"Nice friend you got there."
"Huh?" Raymond wasn't listening to him. He still had Rain crying, and Michelle sying in his head. "What did you say?"
"That friend you had that saved you from the gunshot. She's a brave and wonderful friend."
"Yeah..."
"Is she your girlfriend?"
Raymond's mind seemed to lit up. He looked at the police officer. His face grew red and hot. "Uh..." Raymond didn't know what to say. He wanted to say that Michelle is his girlfriend, but then he'll be lying and will feel sorry for Frankie and Rain. "Uhh..."
"What's wrong? It's and easy question."
Raymond made up his mind, "No. She's Frankie's girlfriend, the one who got tied up over there," he pointed at the spot where Frankie was tied.
"Oh, I see..." He looked at Raymond curiously, "She must really like you, I mean, she risked her own life to save yours."
That hit Raymond's stomach. Why would Michelle save Raymond? They're just best friends, not his girlfriend. All right. Maybe it is because Michelle is his best friend, but why not Frankie? He is his his best friend too right? ANd Rain? Is it because Michelle managed to untie her ropes first? And why is he having these thoughts? Does he really like Michelle more than Rain? These thoughts swirled around his mind. His head started hurting. Then reality hit him, "Why are you asking me these questions?"
The policeman showed his badge that was hanging down his collar, "I;m Ron Ng, the CID. I need to ask you these questions."
"Ron Ng? I'll remember you."
"I'll remember you too Raymond Lam."
Raymond smiled, "Can I see how Michelle's doing?"
"Not yet. You need to come with me to the police station for a long report."
"Okay."
