"Oh Raymond! You're back!" Mrs. Lam ran to Raymond and hugged him, "Why did you had to go to Canada in such short notice?" She let go of him.
"I saw Dad."
Mrs. Lam stared at him. "What do you mean?"
"I saw Dad at the hospital in Canada," Raymond began, "he has cancer."
Mrs. Lam sat down on the couch. Raymond stood over her, staring at her.
"He died."
Mrs. Lam putted her hands over her heart. Her heart was beating really fast. Raymond's hands clutched onto her Shoulder, shaking her like mad.
"Tell me!" He finally screamed, "How come my dad's like this?! Why?!" He lets go of her shoulder and landed on the floor on his knees, tears puoring down his face.
"I never thought you will know...." Mrs. Lam said, tears appearing on her eyes. She stood up to help Raymond up.
Raymond pushed her down, "Why? You know I always wanted a dad! You told me that he died, but he was still alive! Why do you have to lie? Why?" He stood up.
"I don't want you to be sad... but..."
"But what?!"
"Raymond... I didn't know you were ready to hear about your dad.... After what your dad did to me, I thought you will hate him...."
"After what you said... it's not Dad I hate... it's you!" Raymond stormed out of the room.
Mrs. Lam stared after him, crying.

Raymond ran, ran, and ran. He didn't want to stop. He wanted to get away from his home as far as possible. He stopped when he reached the beach, and through a pebble across the ocean, "Why?!" He shouted again.
He was about to throw another pebble when Michelle caught his eye. She ws staring at the ocean dreamily.
"Michelle." Michelle broke her gaze and turned around. He ran to her. For the first time in his life, he wanted to hug her, and he did.
"Wha- Raymond? What's going on?"
Raymond didn't answer her. He just hugged Michelle tightly, tears appearing on his face.
"Why?" Michelle? Why does everything has to happen to me?"
"Raymond. I know how you feel."
Raymond lets go of her, "You will never know.... How my mom lied to me about Dad. I always wanted a dad! And she said my dad died when a I was a little kid and now..."
"You can't blame your mom about this. She doesn't you to be sad."
"Sad! She doesn't know how i feel! Isn't it better if she tells me before i find out myself?!"
Michelle's eyes begin to water, "Please Raymond please! Don't get mad."
"Mad!" Raymond looked at Michelle in the eyes.
"All moms wants their own child happy."
Raymond wanted to argue back, but he finally noticed that Michelle has a point. His mom really doesn't him to be sad.
"You're right Michelle."
Michelle managed a smile.
* * *
"Mom?" Mrs. Lam turned around and saw Raymond standing by the door.
"Raymond," she whispered. Raymond went to her and sat on the couch beside her.
"Tell me about Dad."
Mrs. Lam looked at Raymond closely. She put a hand on his lap. "Your dad and me were forced to marry. We didn't know that until both of us were in College. After we married, we always fight because we don't like each other much. But the more we fight, the more we had feelings toward each other. One night, me and your dad were fighting like crazy again. He got mad and went away. He went to a pub called Hot Hot Bar and got drunk. A girl went up to him to cheer him up, and then... then they went to bed."
"What?!" Raymond cried, "Dad went to bed with another woman?" Raymond laid back on the couch.
"Yes. He did," Mrs. Lam continued, "after that night, I discovered I had you. I really wanted to divorce your dad, but I don't want you to have no father."
"Then, how come you said Dad died?"
"Because he killed someone," She said this really slowly.
"What?" Raymond couldn't believe it. His father's a murderer.
"That's why I don't want to tell you. I don't want you to know that... your dad's a murderer!"
Raymond stared at his mother. This isn't true. Is it?
"I cannot stand my husband being a murderer. I was about to report to the police, but before I could, your dad ran away. I could not find him so I made up a story to tell everybody that your dad died. I'm sorry." Mrs. Lam ended.
"Mom. I'm the one that should say sorry," Raymond's hand touched Mrs. Lam's shoulder. Mrs. Lam smiled, and hugged him.

Oops! I put too much hugging in this story! Oh well.
The next chapter of this story will be Raymond, Frankie, Michelle, and Joyce's first day back in their University School. They will also meet new people. This is when the real Raymond/Michelle/Rain/Frankie relationship begins!!!
