Yerin smiling from ear to ear bounced on her heels nodding her head.
“I practiced every single day.”
“Yeah she practiced every single day and now the ceiling in the living room looks like its about to cave in.” Ji Yong laughed, placing his arm around Yerin.
“Why do you have to be like that?” She pushed his arm away.
“What? What did I do?” Ji Yong laughed following Yerin.
“Your such a jerk oppa.” Yerin pouted, pushing Ji Yong away from him.
“Yerin, you know I was joking.” Ji Yong tried to get closer. “Yoobin tell your sister that it was a joke.”
“I’m staying out of this.” I backed up, watching Yerin and Ji Yong continue to fight.
“Hey everybody.” I heard a familiar voice behind me. Everyone including myself turned around to face the person who had just entered the room.
“Hey hyung.” Ji Yong waved, pushing Yerin toward Tae Yang.
“Hey. Is everyone okay?” TOP asked as he observed each one of us in the room.
“Yeah. We were just um.” Tae Yang tried to think.
“We just thought you were the delivery person. Damn where is he? We ordered an hour ago.” Daesung laughed. “Come on Tae Yang let’s go see if the person is outside.” He grabbed Tae Yang’s shoulder pushing him out of the room.
“I’ll go follow them. Come on Yerin.” Suki pushed Yerin out the door.
The only people in the room were TOP, Ji Yong, and myself.
“So.” Ji Yong tried to make conversation. “I didn’t see you in class today hyung.”
TOP looked at me and then to Ji Yong.
“Yeah, I… had to stop by the hospital.” He smiled.
“I hope your okay.” Ji Yong smiled. “Umm… I’m kind of thirsty. Do any of you want a drink?” He walked over to the door, but not before clapping me on the back.
“No.” TOP and I said in unison.
“Alright, I’ll be back in a few.” Ji Yong closed the door behind him.
So there I stood in front of my past trying to come up with things to talk about. Just when I was about to say something TOP started before me.
“So Yoobin, how are things with you?” He stood still, feeling uncomfortable.
“It’s okay. Ji Yong and I ended our relationship.” I folded my arms, hating the awkwardness. “It felt like dating a real brother.”
“Oh.” was all that he could say.
Neither of us said anything and the tension in the room was getting more unbearable. I had to say something. I needed Seunghyun back, but I didn’t want to scare him off.
“TOP what’s your real name?” I asked, it sounded simple enough.
“My name?” He was surprised. “It’s…It’s Seunghyun.” He muttered, unable to stare at me.
“Why didn’t you tell me before?” I asked with a hurt tone . Ji Yong was right, and once again I had a million feelings coursing through my body. I was relived that Seunghyun was back, I was mad that he didn’t tell me sooner, yet I was sad that he was acting this strange and acted as if he didn’t know me.
“Yoobin, it’s not what you think.” He began, tears already forming in his eyes.
“Not what I think? How do you know what I am thinking? Did you know I waited for you?” I yelled, the anger coming out. I was crossing the line now. I knew I was going to scare him off, but that one line caused me to go insane with rage. “From the first time I saw you in the hallways our past haunted me more than ever. I was in pain.”
“Yoobin, I’m not who you think I am.” He started off. “I’m not that person.”
“Seunghyun, you said you were looking for a friend. Aren’t I that friend?” I tried to calm down.
“Yoobin…” He fell silent. “Yes you are.” he gave in.
“Then why all this?”
“It’s complicating. Yoobin, I..” He hesitated. He then closed his eyes and cupped his mouth. “I love you.”
