Chapter 1

*To The Past*

“Yoobin-ah wait up for me!” a five year old boy chased a girl with long black flowing hair.

“Seunghyun your going to have to get me first!” she stuck out her tongue, staring behind her.

“Yoobin watch out!” Seunghyun reached out.

When Yoobin turned her head, she ran straight into a light pole, and fell backwards.

“Are you okay?” Seunghyun reached her, squatting next to her.

“No. Is my nose bleeding?” She asked as she tilted her head backwards.

“No, your nose is just runny.” He pulled out a tissue from his back pocket handing it to her.

“Thanks. Don’t tell my mom I ran into a pole again. She’ll scold me.” She got up dusting her skirt.

“Alright.” Seunghyun grabbed her hand.

*Back To Reality*

“Unnie?” Yerin my little sister called out to me.

“What?” I asked, facing her.

“Your doing it again.” she rolled her eyes.

“Doing what?” I placed my hands on my waist.

“Your spacing. Anyways did you get the picture?” She took my camera.

“Picture?” I was confused.

“The little girl! Gosh unnie, its getting worse.” She looked through my pictures. She came to a stop at the last picture and examined it. “I like it. You should print this one out.” She handed me my camera back.

I stared down at the image, it was a picture of a toddler staring into space. She reminded me a lot of myself. I set my camera down.

“Yerin?” She looked up at me. “Do you think he’ll come back?” she knew who I meant.

“Seunghyun? I don’t know unnie its been nine years.” She sighed. She looked back at me unsure of my emotion. I looked down at her again and smiled. I knew she only meant to console me and tell me the truth. That’s what I loved about my sister, even though she loves to disturb me she always told me the truth.

“Alright, well I’m going to go take a nap or something. Okay?” I got up, she nodded.

I walked to my room and opened the door. Inside, the walls were covered with pictures. One wall was for my photography, one for my friends, one for my family, and the last for Seunghyun. The last wall barely had any pictures unlike the rest. To fill in the missing spots I painted a mural of all the places Seunghyun and I used to visit. I headed over to that wall and touched the last picture Seunghyun and I took. It was taken at the airport, the day he left America to go to Korea. My face was happy but that day I felt as if my heart had been ripped open. Seunghyuns face had a grin on it, as if he didn’t know whether to frown or smile. I closed my eyes and walked to my bed. I laid down and hugged my pillow, waiting for the darkness to close down on me.
