Chapter 7

Only Me

Cecilia sat on the side of Sammi’s bed. “Hey girl! You feeling better?” Cecilia asked in a cheerful tone.
Sammi looked as if she was lost. She just said in a soft voice, “Who are you?”
“You don’t remember me? I’m Cecilia. Your bestfriend.” Cecilia said confused.
“Cecilia? Who? I don’t know you. Who are you?” Sammi asked.
“Come in guys. Something is wrong.” Cecilia yelled out the door.
Nic and Andy came running in the door. “What? What’s wrong?” Nic asked.
“Sammi.. Sammi.. can’t remember me.” Cecilia said with tears coming down her eyes.
Nic then sat on the side of the bed. “Hey Sammi!” Nic said.
“Who are you?” Sammi asked again in a soft tone.
“I’m Nic. Your cousin!” Nic said.
“Nic? Cousin? I don’t have any cousins.” Sammi said.
Nic looked confused. “Look at me. Look at me closely. Your cousin. Nic, Nicholas Tse. Remember me?” Nic asked.
“Nic? No! I don’t remember. I don’t remember.” Then Sammi clutched her head tightly with her hands and starting screaming. Then the nurse came running in and kicked Andy, Cecilia and Nic out of the room. Again, the doctor came to check up on what is going on.

It was a long wait for everyone. It was like 20 minutes until the doctor came out with his head down this time. “Doctor, what’s wrong with her? She can’t remember anything?” Nic asked.
“I’m afraid not but I can guarantee she will remember after she does some therapy. I think when she got hit, the bruise in her brain caused some of her memory to be lost.” The doctor explained.
“So, all we have to do is wait patiently?” Cecilia asked.
“Well, what she needs now is family and friend support. Talk more with her about the past and bring in things to remind her. By the way, is anyone here by name of Andy? Prince Charming Andy?” the doctor asked.
Andy stood there frozen. “I am.” He said.
“Apparently, the only person she remembers is Andy. When I was talking with her inside, she kept saying prince charming, prince Andy. Also, she was always holding the flowers there. I think those flowers are called Stephanotis. Also, there is this tape in there and she only recognise that song on the tape. Noting else.” The doctor added and walked away.
Cecilia and Nic stared at Andy. “How can this be? Sammi didn’t even know Andy before the accident.” Cecilia said to Nic. “This is so odd.” Nic added.
“Okay, I can explain.” Andy said.
“Yes?” Nic asked.
“Well, when this whole incident first happened, I felt sympathy for her and I felt miserable. Then one day, Richie came to me and gave me this cassette tape. Apparently, Richie made up this song for Sammi about Snow White. Richie told me how Sammi always day dream about a prince charming ever since she was 6. Then that night, I had this weird dream about me riding on a horse, going by a forest and found Sammi in a coffin and I kissed her. Then she woke up and we went to this castle. I had the same dream last night when I went home to rest. I was thinking why I had the same dream two times in a row. Then, just now, I was holding her hands and I didn’t know why I did it for. My heart was beating so fast. When I let go of her hand, it stopped. Then I didn’t know why… I…” Andy stopped.
“I what? Continue.” Nic asked.
“Well, I kissed her. Then her fingers started to move and yah. Oh yea, before that I tried waking her up by saying I am prince charming. But it didn’t work.” Andy finished and took a huge breath.
“What?! You kissed my cousin?” Nic screamed.
“Sorry…” Andy said.
“Chill Nic, What century is it?” Cecilia added.
“Okay, forget the kissing part. What about the flowers?”
“I don’t know. Those are the flowers I bring to her everyday.” Andy added.

After explaining everything, he felt a lot loosen and more relaxed. But the only thing he can’t believe is *the only one she remembers is me!*
