“Thanks.” I smiled. I placed the roses beside me. “So have you thought about your answer?” He began his sentence shyly. I didn’t know what to say. I had been thinking about it for the past few days. “_______, I really like you. The first time I saw you , I knew you were the one.” Hyunjoong confessed. I stared at him, his eyes was staring back. “I…” It was time for my heart to move on. “Yes, I’ll be your girlfriend.” Hyunjoong then smiled. He then got up from his seat and came to my side and hugged me.
“Let’s start our date then.” He suggested. I nodded, getting up from my seat. I picked up the roses then left the café with Hyunjoong. We reached his car then got in.
“Where are we going?” I was putting on my seatbelt. He was turning on his engine. “We can go to the theme park.” He suggested. Nodding, I rested my head on the window. Was I making the right decision?
“Oppa?” “Hmmm?”
“You like me, right?” I sounded like a fool. He chuckled at my question. “Of course I do. Why else will I ask you to be my boyfriend?”
I shrugged. “I called the boys to come as well. Just in case you get bored if it’s just the two of us.” “Oh.. Okay.” I somehow did not want to face the boys. I didn’t know what they would say or react when I tell them I said yes to Hyunjoong.
Soon we reached the Theme park, We got off the car and walked towards the entrance. “_________, Hyunjoong!” I heard someone call. I turned around and saw the boys.
“Anyong~” I smiled at them. “Let’s go in and play !” Junho cheered, as he jumped up and down with Junsu. I nodded then stood beside Jaebum. I felt more comfortable walking beside Jaebum. “Shoot.” We were walking behind the rest, Jaebum knew there was something up. Just like how I can read his mind, He can read mine.
“I said yes.” I put on a smile. “You don’t seem happy about it.” He stated. I slapped myself mentally. He knows me too well.
“I will be soon.” I pointed out. He only sighed. “It’s time for me to move on.” I stared forwardly. And to my luck, the person walking a few cm before me was Nichkhun.
We entered the theme park and our first destination was the café. I was seated beside Hyunjoong. And as if it was a curse, Nichkhun sat across from me. “________, What do you want to eat?” Hyunjoong handed me the menu. I looked at it for a few seconds. “Um, I’ll just have a glass of water.”
“You should eat something. Don’t make me worry.” He pouted. The boys all raised an eyebrow, except for Jaebum. Jaebum was looking at his menu while the other boys were all looking at me. Including Nichkhun.
“Me and Hyunjoong Oppa are dating now.” I waited for their reactions. “Congratulations!” Chansung was the first to respond. “Really? Wah, you two look good together~” Junho smiled. “Thanks.” I heard Hyunjoong say. Taekyeon who was sitting on the other side of me whispered something to me in English. “Are you sure he’s the one?”
I did not speak. As I wasn’t sure. “Congrats.” Nichkhun spoke. He wasn’t smiling nor frowning. I assumed he didn’t care. “Let’s order now~” Wooyoung suggested. “I’m not hungry. So I’m going to have a walk.” I excused myself. “I’ll miss you~” Hyunjoong smiled at me. I returned back a smile. I had to smile.
I left the café then walked towards the bench facing the Ferris wheel. Sighing, I swung my feet back and forth. Why didn’t I fell happy? As I was playing with my fingers, I received a text message from Jaebum. Before I even press ‘read’, Taekyeon had text me too.
I read Jaebum’s message first. - Follow your heart, Jay-
It was short yet the meaning was strong. I then read Taekyeon’s message. - I support you and Khun ^.^ , Taek. -
I sighed, one support won’t make things happen the way I want. I placed my phone back into my bag. “May I sit down?” A voice was heard. I looked up to see Nichkhun. “It’s a free world.” I said. He then sat down beside me. “Why did you say yes?” He suddenly asked.
“Just cause.” Somehow I was being arrogant to him. Why? I don’t know. But I was a bit angry at him as he showed no reaction when I said I was dating Hyunjoong.
He sighed. “Was it because of the kiss?” He asked. I stayed quite. “What if he wasn’t the one?” He added. I was confused by his words. “I’ll learn to love him.” I simply said. Eventually someone will replace your place in my heart.
“Okay.” His voice sounded disappointed.” He briefly smiled at me then got up from his seat. “Congrats again.” He then walked away. I watched as his body walked away. He doesn’t care, so why should I?
I was fidgeting with the straps of my bag, until a little girl came up to me. “Unnie.” The little girl pulled my sleeve. “Yes?” I squatted down to her level. “Oppa told me to give this to you.” The little girl gave ma a big round lollipop. I accepted with a smile. Lollipop had always been the medicine for me apart from Jaebum’s magic.
On top of that, it was a strawberry favoured lollipop. “Thank you.” I smiled, pinching her cheeks. She giggled as she smiled back. “But who is the Oppa?” I asked, looking around. “Oppa said it’s a secret.” The little girl grinned then skipped away. I stood up and looked around to see if there was a figure watching. But I couldn’t find anyone.
I decided to walk back to the café, holding onto the lollipop. I entered the café and reached our table. The boys were all munching away. The first to notice me was Jaebum.
“Thanks for the lollipop.” I smiled at Hyunjoong. “Huh? Oh yeah, No problem.” He smiled.
I heard someone hiss. My thoughts were interrupted as Junho suggested something. “Let’s have a quiz and see if Hyunjoong knows _________ well.”
“Sure.” Without hesitation Hyunjoong agreed. “You’ll be against…” Junsu rubbed his chin. “Khun!” Taekyeon smiled. I couldn’t refuse as Nichkhun already agreed. “Okay.”
“Okay, So first question. What is ________’s favourite colour?” Wooyoung asked, using his fork as a microphone. “Pink.” Hyunjoong sounded confident. Wooyoung then placed the fork in front of Nichkhun. “Pink.” “..White and turquoise.” He added. “Ding ding ding! Nichkhun one point~” Taekyeon clapped. Hyunjoong pouted as he lost on the first round. “Second question, What is ________’s favourite sweet flavour?” Chansung asked, licking his spoon clean.
Wooyoung was in charge of passing the microphone fork, he gave Hyunjoong the ‘microphone’ first. “lemon?” This time he was unsure. Wooyoung then gave Nichkhun the ‘microphone’. “Strawberry.”
I was feeling happy inside that Nichkhun still remember things about me. However I reminded myself that I’m not suppose to like him more instead. “Another point to Khun!”
Hyunjoong sighed. I patted his shoulder lightly. “It’s okay.” I smiled at him. “Next question, Who does ________ love the most except her family member’s?” It was Taekyeon’s turn to ask. “Love as in boyfriend?” Hyunjoong asked. “Friendly love” Junsu explained.
“I.. Don’t know.” Hyunjoong gave up answering. “Jaebum.” Nichkhun answered without needing time to think. The boys all turned to me to confirm the answer. “Hard to admit. But yeah, Jaebum.”
Jaebum grinned like a fool. “He’s a really cool cousin.” I added. Jaebum nodded his head agreeing. I chuckled at Jaebum’s happy face.
“This is going no where~ Hyung, you don’t know _______ at all.” Chansung joked. “Minahe.” Hyunjoong turned to face me. I gave him an assuring smile. “It’s okay. Not everyone knows the correct answer to those question.”
“Yeah, but Khun does.” Junho commented. I tried to put on a smile.
“You finally admit that you love me the most.” Jaebum teased me. “That’s cause you’re my cousin. And the question was a ‘friendly love’ type.” I stuck out my tongue playfully at him. He pouted. “What about relationship love?” Junsu asked.
I froze at the question. “________, Let’s order ice cream!” Jaebum handed me the menu quickly, Helping me out. That’s why I love him, He was truly the best cousin. Seems like ice cream had always been Jaebum’s only idea of helping me out.
Everyone then went back to eating. I glanced up from the menu and saw Nichkhun poking his food. Ever since I came back to the café, He did not smile. He didn’t seem to like Hyunjoong, but why?
I shook of my thoughts about him. However he’ll always pop up in my mind.
Once everyone was finished eating, we all headed to the rides area. We were walking around until I saw the little girl that gave me the lollipop. She was with a girl around her early 20’s. I assumed they were sisters.
“Unnie” The little girl saw me and ran up to me. “Anyong~” I gave her a hug, squatting down to her level again. “ Unnie still doesn’t know your name.” I pouted. She giggled. “My name is Yoorim.” She smiled.
“Wah, Yoorim is so pretty.” Junho patted her head causing Yoorim to giggle. She then ran up to Nichkhun. “Oppa!” She ran into his arms. I raised an eyebrow. Do they know each other?
“Anyong Yoorim~” Nichkhun bent down and patted her head. “You two know each other?” Chansung ask. Somehow, Nichkhun was struggling to answer. “Oppa brought me lollipop earlier on.”
“Oh~” Everyone oh-ed. Nichkhun scratched the back of his head. “Yeah~.”
Yoorim’s sister then spoke. “Nice meeting you all. But me and Yoorim have to go home now.” Yoorim ran up to her sister then held onto her hand. “Bye bye unnie! Oppa!” She waved cutely. “Bye~” We all waved back. “Yoorim is so cute!” I smiled. “Not as cute as you.” Hyunjoong stood beside me. He then held onto my hand.
I blushed at his comment. Maybe he was the prince all along.`
