“Ugh…” I said, lying on my bed. Every part of me felt heavy.
“Are you okay?” said Yesung
“Just a little sore.” I told him.
“What happened yesterday? I woke up and you weren’t there. You came back around seven last night and passed out on your bed. What’d you do?”
“I was with Donghae and Kyuhyun training the entire day. Kyuhyun helped me control my powers.” I paused. “Which reminds me. I got training today too.” I swung my legs over the bed and got up.
“I’ll come with you.” I heard him say when I was in the bathroom.
“Okay.” I shouted back at him.
A few minutes later, me and Yesung walk out our room.
“Today we will use your wind element powers,” explained Kyuhyun. “When you launch a wind element attack, it will come out like heat waves.”
“What do you mean like heat waves?” I asked.
“You know. During the summer, you’re walking down a road and in front of you; you see these waves coming out of the ground. The same thing with a heater. It looks like waves.” He paused. “I don’t really know how to explain it but yeah… that’s the best I can do.”
“Don’t worry. I know what you’re talking about.”
“I glad you do. Now back to what I was saying about wind element. Use it correctly and it can feel like a breeze or it can feel like you are getting cut into pieces.
“Since you already know how to control your fire powers, it will be easy for you to control your wind powers.” He continued.
“So how do you ‘unlock’ my wind power? I’ve never used it before.” I told him.
“No. You have used it before. Remember that time when you knock Wylie across the cafeteria?” He asked. I nodded.
“That wasn’t fire that you used to knock him away. It was wind.”
“Really?” I said in amazement. “But that time it was just a coincidence. I don’t know how to use it.”
“Don’t worry.” He reached in his pocket and took out a small glass bottle filled with a blue liquid. “Drink this and your wind powers will start to emerge from you.”
I pulled off the stopper and drank it.
“What did you give him?” asked Yesung, as he watches me gulp down the blue drink.
“Its just a potion. It will subside later. So. Now to get on with the training.” He said.
A new feeling emerged from within me. It felt like something similar to the power I already had.
It made me feel stronger.
“I feel… wow.” I said, searching for the word to describe the rush in power.
“That’s good. Let’s begin. We’re going to do what we did yesterday but use something differently.” said Kyuhyun and spoke a charm. “Grow.”
A few yards in front of us grew an army of thick trees. My eyes widened.
“Did you just do that?” I asked.
“Earth element.” He winked at me. “I told you yesterday. My element is earth. Anyway, I’m using trees for you to control your wind powers. Don’t worry. You’ll learn how to do this too.” He pointed at the massive forest that grew in the middle of the plains. “Now all you have to do is use your wind power to cut the tree down. I made more than one for you to practice on.”
I nodded.
As the day progresses, I got the hang of controlling my powers. I was able to wound the tree but I wasn’t able to cut through the tree completely.
Kyuhyun has fallen asleep on a nearby rock and Yesung watched me practice.
I launched another cascade of wind towards the trees. None of them were strong enough to cut the tree down.
“Why did he made the trees so thick?” I complained. I used the back of my hand to swipe away the sweat that was dripping down the side of my face.
“You can do it. Sungmin fighting!” cheered Yesung. I smiled at him.
I turned back to the row of trees. I gathered up as much power as I could in my hand. But before I could launch the attack, something flew past me and towards the trees. Two, three trees came flying down. I turned around, thinking it was Kyuhyun who launched the attack but he was still sound asleep on the rock. I looked at Yesung who seemed shock.
“Did you do that?” I said looking at him. Yesung was shaking and his face went pale. I walked towards him and place my hand on his shoulder. Suddenly his head snapped up and looked at the fallen trees.
“Cool. You did it?” he asked me.
“I…uh… no.” I looked at him awkwardly.
“Really? Then who did it?”
“I don’t know.” Yesung looked at me strangely.
I turned back towards the trees.
“Did Yesung do that?” I asked myself. I shook the thought away. “Impossible. He’s not a wizard… Is he?”
By the end of the day, when the sun peered over the horizon, I was able to cut down the trees with more than one blow. Almost all of the trees were down.
“Come on Sungmin.” Said Kyuhyun from behind. “Dinner starts in 2 hours.”
“Okay. One sec.” I had 2 more trees still standing. I wanted to eliminate them before I leave. I gather energy in my both of my hands and thrusted them foreword with great speed. The wind sliced through the air creating a whistling sound then replaced by the sound of two falling trees. I smiled with satisfaction.
“I’m coming.” I turned around and ran foreword.
We were able to get back to school an hour before dinner started. I took a quick shower before I went downstairs. Yesung was sleeping soundly on the bed.
“I rather not wake him up. I’ll bring up some food later when I get back.” I said to myself.
As I slipped through the door, I heard Yesung mumble something, indicating he was dreaming.
“Mom, Dad. Please, control my powers.” He said softly.
