“Ri In? Where have you been?” Han Kyung asked when she went back to the waiting room. The room was filled with Super Junior and SNSD’s members since DBSK was now performing one of their songs. “We’re all about to go up for the ending song.”
“I-I was in the restroom.”
“Yah!” The PD yelled to us. “All of you get on stage
right now! Last song!! Hurry!”
Everyone scrambled their way towards the stage, trying not to fall over one another as they made their way there.
They each took turn singing the ending song, Let’s go on a trip. Junsu casually made his way towards Ri In. She, however, did not notice his presence until he gently tapped her on the shoulders, giving her a heads up that their line was next.
JaeJoong did not miss this little scene. Was he jealous?
He thought that the word ‘jealous’ would be too much for this situation.
“Thank you everyone!” They all shouted at once when the song ended. “Have a safe trip back home!”

SM Town’s founder, Lee Soo Man, came into the waiting room beaming at the success of the concert.
“Great job everyone!” He said clapping his hands together. “Just as I expected from you all.”
They all bowed their heads like puppets being pulled by a string.
However, there was one who just pretended to be a puppet.
One who was more like Pinocchio, making his own decisions.
That was him, Kim JaeJoong.
Everyone who knew anything about Kpop, must know something about Dong Bang Shin Ki.
Asia’s number one boy group.
And this is where Lee Soo Man falls in.
Lee Soo Man carefully handpicked each member, making sure that this was the group to bring back the boy group era to kpop.
In 2006, a young female soloist was release into the kpop world at the tender age of 16.
Zhang Li Yin, or more well known as Jang Ri In.
Lee, decided that it was time to release a R&B singer from his company. She not only had the angelic looks, but the voice of a powerful angel as well.
Her debut was carefully planned out by Lee Soo Man. To ensure Jangs’ success, he had DBSKs’ smiling angel, Xiah
Junsu to have a debut with her.
After one week of her debut, she already topped many kpop charts, as well as winning an award.
Kim Junsu and Jang Ri In were soon known to be as the
‘Timeless Couple.’
SuYin.
At first, Kim JaeJoong did not care for this little girl.
She was, a little girl after all, debuting at the age of 16. However, he soon proved himself wrong. After hearing her sing with Junsu throughout numerous awards, he couldn’t help but feel somewhat attached to her.
Attached to the way she sang.
Attached to the way she moved her lips when she spoke.
Attached to the way she walked, the way her hair would
swish back and forth.
Jang Ri In, however, was soon put to the back seat as Lee
Soo Man, decided to shift his focus on his next artist.
SNSD.
Girls Generation.
They too, took the kpop scene by the storm. However, rival company, JYP decided to put out a girl group as well, Wonder Girls.
These two girl group fought neck to neck with one another, giving Lee a hard time; thus he decided to push Jang Ri In to the China branch.
Later early, an idea stuck the SM founder. Since Jang Ri In became an overnight success with the help of DBSK, why not use them again?
{“Oppa, I’m leaving to China.” Ri In said holding the airplane ticket in her tiny hands.”
“Ri In!” JaeJoong yelled as he rushed his way towards her. “W-wait.”
“Hyung?” Junsu looked surprised to his older member here.
“What are you doing here?”
“I-i-I came to see R—ah, Yunho’s looking for you. He wants to see you right now.”
“Really? Oh-okay.” Junsu turned to Ri in before pecking her on the cheek. “Take care. And remember, if you ever need anything, I’m here for you.”
“Thanks oppa.”
Ri In stared at Junsu leaving before turning her attention back to JaeJoong. She found him staring intently at her.
“U—um is something wrong?” She asked unsurely. It was awkward for her, no one have stared at her like that before. “Oppa?”
He snapped back into reality. “I-i….” His throat got clammy. “I w-want- you.” He said really quickly pulling her into a hug.
“Sorry.” He muttered under his breath. “T-this must be really awkward for you.”
Unknown to him, Ri In’s heart was beating rapidly, the heat rushing to her face, causing her to blush.
“U-um..” She did’nt know what to say.
“You like Junsu?”
His straightforwardness shocked her. How can he ask something like that, so easily?
Once again, Ri In didn’t answer him.
“That’s a no, then.” He whispered to her. “Since you didn’t say anything.”
He pulled her closer to him and she didn’t refuse. Why?
She didn’t know why either. JaeJoong’s body against hers just feels right.
“I-I’m leaving to China.”
“I’m leaving to Japan.” JaeJoong said straightforwardly.
“I-I won’t be-why are you doing this?” For a girl who 16, unlike her other peers, she had never had a boyfriend.
Nonetheless have a guy as good looking as JaeJoong holds her so close to him.
“I don’t know why either.”
“You should let go.”
“What if I don’t want to?” He asked tilting her chin up
towards him. “Hmm?”
Her heartbeat was moving rapidly, too rapidly for her liking. “I-i…”}
{Every since that day, she tried to avoid JaeJoong as much
as possible. Until that one special day, the day that she performed on stage with Junsu for the China Cyworld concert.
For some odd reason, she was shaking that day when she performed.
Shaking.
She was shaking violently after the performance.
No one noticed it when she was on stage, except for him.
Except for JaeJoong who was staring at her the entire time.
He went backstage in search of Ri In. He didn’t see the young women, however he did hear crying coming from the restroom.
JaeJoong looked at the picture of the circle and triangle on the door.
The female’s restroom.
Knocking lightly on the door, he heard her scramble and shut one of the stall doors. Walking in, he noticed one of the stalls being ‘used.’
He shook his head, what was he doing? He felt like a stalker, well he was in a way.
“Come out.”
Ri In was too tired to recognize his voice. “T-t-this is
the girl’s restroom.” She managed to say through her tears.
“Jang Ri In, open the door.”
Surprising, she did as she was told. He knew that she was obedient; he noticed how she always did what she was told.
{“Ri In ah, can you throw this away for me?” Jessica asked pushing her plate towards the girl. “Thanks.”}
Her eyes grew wide when she saw the person standing in front of her. “J-ja…”
JaeJoong pulled her petite body towards his, “Don’t cry.”}
From then on, their meetings with one another were somewhat
strange, yet sweet.
As Jang Ri In was in China, DBSK was in Japan and Lee Soo Man was busy with Girls Generation in Korea.
Ri In’s career in China was slowly making its way into the Chinese market.
The Dong Bang boys in Japan were already a success.
In April, Lee decided to have Girls Generation and DBSK to have a cf shoot together. Since many people supported Ri
In, Lee thought that they would do the same for these nine girls.
However, he was wrong. Soon after the release of the cf, there were many bashing from both sides.
One side from the boys’ fangirls, and the other, by the girls’ fanboys.
Though, there were negative reactions, publicity was publicity.
Determined to win and make Girls Generation popularity soar over Wonder Girls, Lee decided to romantically link DBSK’s
Junsu and Girls Generation’s leader TaeYeon.
It worked.
After the ‘incident’ of Hollywood Bowl, there was much news broadcasting station featuring this happening.
But, it only gained more antis for the poor young female leader.
“Ri In ah!” Junsu said pulling her towards the group.
“Daydreaming? Come on, Mr. Lee’s throwing us an after party.”
Ri In looked over towards JaeJoong who was busy chatting away with Jessica, Tiffany, and Hyo Yeon.

“Yah, why are you so down?” Junsu asked Ri In as he handed her a soda. “Come on, this is a PARTY!”
Ri In looked up to see Junsu face beaming as he placed the soda in her hands. “Thanks oppa.”
He looked around to see everyone else mingling with one another. Yoochun and Changmin cracking jokes with some of the SuJu boys. Yunho talking to TaeYeon and Kang In.
JaeJoong chatting away with Jessica, Tiffany, and Hyo Yeon. The rest were dancing happily with one another even though they have been dancing all day.
“Come on,” Junsu pulled Ri In towards the dance flow, placing her coke down in the process, “let’s dance my
timeless partner.”
The dance floor was crowded with the bodies of SNSD and Super Junior members, with the addition of two more. As
Junsu and Ri In reached the middle of the dance floor, a slow song was being played, Dong Bang Shin Ki’s Love in the ice.”
Hesitantly pulling the young girl in front of him closer, Junsu placed a hand on her waist and another on her lower back. Ri In followed his lead, as others around them looked at the couple dancing in awe.
Although JaeJoong was indeed conversing with some of Asia’s top girl group idol, his eyes could not help but wander to the dance floor. The girls did the same.
“Awwww, they look so cute.” Tiffany said aloud. “Wish I could dance with someone like that.”
JaeJoong excused himself towards the dance floor and started singing to the song. He pulled away from Ri In when he reached the two.
Ri In stood there expressionless as her dance partner was stolen by another guy. Junsu was now dancing in JaeJoong arms.
Everyone started laughing at the two men. Yunho, Yoochun, and Changmin joined in on the chorus as they walked over towards JaeJoong and Junsu.
After the song ended, everyone went back towards their little group. Junsu was now chatting with not only Ri In, but with JaeJoong, TaeYeon, Tiffany, Jessica, and Hyo Yeon as well. JaeJoong was actually glad that they did a cf with SNSD and that they attended the Hollywood Bowl with them as well. He was glad that Junsu was in a scandal with Tae Yeon. As bad as it may sound, JaeJoong liked how this gave him an upper hand.
“It’s late. Everyone should go back home now.” The PD announced through the microphone ending the music. “NOW!
Please.”
They all started shuffling towards the exit one by one.
“Ri In, do you need a lift home?” Junsu asked as they were walking out.
“Yes please.” She answered with a smile. “If that’s fine with you?”
TaeYeon, Jessica, Yuri and Tiffany appeared by their side.
“Oppa, can we get a ride with you?” Tae Yeon asked, “It seems that some of the oppas from Super Junior took our
spot in our van.”
Junsu nodded knowing that it was the right thing to do since he offered a ride to Ri In. “Alright, why not? It means I get more pretty girls in my car.”
One. Two. Three. Four. Five. Six.
JaeJoong counted six people. “Someone could ride with me since six people won’t five in Junsu’s car.”
He had been hoping that Ri In would come. He even stressed the word ‘one,’ looking at her in the eyes as well. Ri In however, only gave him an innocent look.
“We’ll go with you JaeJoong oppa.” Yuri and Jessica offered. “If that’s fine with you?”
“Of course, beautiful girls are always welcome in my car.” JaeJoong said with a grin, placing his hands on both of the girls’ shoulders. “Let’s go.”

That night, Ri In couldn’t sleep, she kept on tossing and turning in her bed.
“Ri In ah?” Ara asked turning on the desk lamp, “you okay?”
“I’m sorry.” She apologized, “I woke you up.”
“It’s fine. Anyways, I’m leaving to Japan tomorrow. We might now see each other for a while.” Ara said sweetly, sitting up now. “Let’s talk.”
“Eh?”
Ara had a big smile on her face now. “Let’s talk. We barely talk to one another now. Eveyone’s been so busy.”
She pouted hoping Ri In would talk to her.
“About what?”
“BOYS!” She yelled happily.
“Yah! Shhhh!” Ri In hushed her. “It’s late; we’re going to get in trouble if you yell like that.”
“Hehehe, I’m sorry.”
This was the last subject Ri In wanted to talk about.
Boys. This subject included him.
She faked a yawn. “I’m sorry, Ara ah. But I feel tired now. Let’s talk tomorrow okay?”
“Okay. Have a sweet dream then, Ri Innie!~” Ara too yawned and turned off the lamp.
Her roommate fell fast asleep; yet Ri In was still wide awake.
