“Guys? You’re with me?” Changmin asked, clapping his hand to get their attention.
“Yeah, I’m just jotting the stuff down in my schedule” someone said without looking up as he typed furiously in his Blackberry. “Oh wait, we still need to go to the NAC right on Wednesday? The stage is all set but we need someone to check on the flooring”
Changmin nodded. “I think you guys need a break” he told them, leaning on his seat.
The girl sitting in front shook her head. “I’m afraid not. We have a lot of things to liaise with today and me and Hara have to go over the catering matters later. We’ll probably be out most of the day”
“Yeah. And I have to run through maintenance issues as well” a guy spoke up from the back.
“You sure? You guys look…beat. I don’t want anyone of you passing out on the job” Changmin said, looking worried. It was true that his team was putting in much more effort than any other jobs and he was getting anxious each time they meet up for a discussion since some of them looked as if they haven’t been sleeping for days.
“Hey, don’t worry boss. We got everything under control” another person assured him.
“O…k…but make sure you guys gets ample rest” Changmin told them.
After the discussion, Changmin went back to his computer and checked his email. There was nothing much except for the usual memo from the project secretary, and spam emails from Junsu (as always). He was about to take a coffee break when a new email arrived. It was from Nadine. He clicked on her email and waited for the page to pop up.
“Dear Mr. Shim,
You have been a great help to me and my students and we would like to invite you and your team to a so-called housewarming gathering to our school. I know this may sound silly but Mr. Leeteuk was the one who suggested it and the students thought it will be a great idea to go ahead with the plan.
We are still working on the details of the gathering and would forward them to you.
I am still pending on whether to get a new kiln for our studio. I appreciate your generous offer to get the item for us but I am afraid that I have to discuss the matter with the Headmistress first. She is rather particular about getting the kiln as she thinks it will be hazardous to the studio and the price might be a burden. I assure you I will get the matter straightened out and reply to your offer as soon as possible.
Have a good day!
Thanks and regards,
Nadine Celeste Arena

Changmin chuckled as he read the email. Trust Leeteuk to come up with such an idea. No wonder he was a favorite among the students! He was about to reply to her email when there was a knock on the door. He glanced up and saw Reena, the project secretary at the door. “The President wants to see you” she informed him.
Before the panic attack settled in, Changmin told himself not to worry too much. “He…probably wants to check how things are” he assured as he slowly made his way to the President’s office. He knocked twice on the door and waited for the signal to enter the room.
“I’m right here” Mr Jung’s voice spoke from behind him. Changmin jumped and faced the older guy who was looking at him with a beam.
“Aaah,,Mr. Jung…s..sir. W..where—
Mr Jung gave him an amused look and opened the door. “Yah Changmin. You’re so TENSE” he told him as he went behind his desk and sat down. “Have a seat” he told Changmin.
“Thank you. You wanted to see me sir?” Changmin asked, making himself comfortable.
Mr Jung nodded. “I was from Iseul High School actually. I was on the way back from the NAC to check how things are and I decided to drop by the Art studio and see for myself the work you’ve put in”
Changmin felt his mouth went dry. Uh-oh. “So, how did you find it?” he asked casually, even though he was breaking out in cold sweat.
“Well” the President began, clasping his hands together. “Unfortunately, they were having lessons during that time but the teacher, Miss Arena, was it? She was kind enough to let me in the studio and showed me what you and your team had done to the class”
Changmin waited for Mr Jung to continue but the man was watching him like a hawk, leaning back on his seat. Chanming started to feel uncomfortable. “And how did you find the progress sir? Is there any improvements to be done?” he asked.
“You’re tense again” Mr Jung said to him. Changmin raised his eyebrows. Don’t tell me the man’s been drinking again. “Uhm..sir. I’m only doing my best---
“Yaaaah Changmin. You remind me so much of Yunho. AND, of course the work you’ve been doing is outstanding although there is still for perfection but seeing you like this…is killing me. I don’t want other people to say that I’m enjoying torturing my staff” the President said, placing his palms on the table and leaning forward. “The reason I ask you to come here is not to evaluate your work but to remind you to take it easy once in a while. I know how…aggressive you can get when you want everything right, but please don’t kill yourself”
Changmin smiled. “Mr Jung, I admit I am feeling the heat but I’m enjoying what I am doing and when work—“
“Is based on passion, it does not feel like work at all” Mr Jung continued for him. He gave the younger man a wink. “I see Yunho has taught you guys well” he added.
Changmin nodded. “Yes sir” he said. He watched as the President picked up a stray lint on his tie and then looked at Changmin. “Well, I guess that’s it then. Good to know you’re enjoying yourself with your job. Very rare to see people like you. So how are things with her so far?”
“Miss Arena? Oh, you can tell she’s a passionate person who---“
“No-no. I was talking about Seung Yeon. I know how Miss Arena is; I already met her in person. And you’re right about the passionate person. She lights up the room with her enthusiasm doesn’t she?” Mr Jung asked with a smile.
Changmin nodded again, his mind somewhere else. Mr Jung stared at him again waiting for him to talk. “Changmin?” the President asked. “You didn’t answer my previous question”
“Uh..yes, about SY. Well, she can be…very..choosy with the choices but other than that, things have been working out really well” Changmin said. “My team have been busy lately and I was getting worried if they are pushing themselves too hard but they told me that it don’t mind working under pressure though”
“Ah Changmin. The situation’s normal, don’t worry about it. All those young hearts working extra hard for the money and recognition. Am I right?”
“But what’s important is the end product that we give to the client. Recognition and money comes easy but there’s absolutely no point if clients are not happy with our services as well” Changmin told him with confidence.
“Well-spoken my boy! I can see a future in you” Mr Jung remarked. “Well then, I guess I better keep you here for long since you have a tight schedule. I’ll be looking forward to SY’s lauching day mind you!” he said.
Changmin thanked the President for his time and left the room, feeling a bit relief. Mr Jung’s unpredictable nature was starting to scare the crap out of him. Just like SY. It was obvious that the celebrity was into him but Changmin kept telling himself that maybe the woman was being delusional. As he walked back to his office, Junsu and his team burst into the lobby talking in loud voices. Changmin assumed that they had just finished off a major event judging by their excited chatter.
“The auction went well! Aaah..and those kids at the orphanage were SO adorable. Omo! I can’t wait to have kids of my own someday” Junsu told Changmin as he joined him in the office.
Changmin gave him an incredulous look. Lately Junsu seemed to be in an upbeat mood in a more bizarre way. He kept singing every where he go, even in the Gents and there’s always a dopey smile on his smile. “Hyung? Are you sure you’re not on drugs or something?” Changmin asked.
“That’s the sixth time you asked this week” Junsu told him but he was smiling.
“Fine whatever. But wipe that smile off your face. It’s scaring me” Changmin said but Junsu continued grinning like Cheshire cat.
Changmin rolled his eyes. He then saw there was a new email again from Nadine. This time it was the gathering details, the time and place given. At the end of the email was a photo of the whole class in the studio waving at him. Nadine was in the middle of the lot, showing a thumbs-up and a bright smile.
Changmin suppressed a laugh and replied to the email saying that he will definitely be there. “Cute” he commented as he looked at the photo again, his eyes on the Art teacher.
