“OH! Oh my goodness, I am SO sorry. I didn’t know you were---“ Changmin bit his lip while the celebrity shook her head and covered her mouth to prevent herself from laughing out loud. Changmin scratched the back of his head and took his mug. “I’m..going to get some refreshments. Do you..want some?” he asked.
“I’ll come with you!” SY said, linking arms with him and practically dragging him across the room towards the refreshment area. Changmin tried hard not to grimace as they walked past his team members who were staring at the both of them.
“So..Changmin! Tea or coffee?” SY asked, still holding on to his arm. Changmin counted to three before answering her question. “Coffee will be nice. I like mine with sugar, thank you very much” he said quickly and at the same time, releasing SY’s grip from his arm.
While SY happily made a cup of coffee for him, Changmin took a moment to admire the feature room which will be the centre stage for SY’s spring clothing line and her latest perfume. The stage for the catwalk was all set. The technicians are still fixing the lights and floor before they bring in the necessary equipments for the finishing touches.
“Here you go Changmin. Coffee with sugar. And here’s a bagel for you as well. I noticed you like the cream cheese as well so I’ve already spread it out for you” SY said, handing him the stuff.
“Umm…wow, thanks!” Changmin sipped his coffee and swallowed it painfully but he kept his face straight so as not to show SY that the coffee was TOO sweet for his taste. “Great coffee” he managed to say before taking a bite of his bagel.
SY beamed and glanced around the room. “Wow. You guys are such fast workers! I can’t believe the place will be ready by end of next week!” she squealed. “Oh by the way, who are you planning to bring for the fashion show? I’ve got extra invitations if you want to bring someone along”
Changmin thought about who to bring. He and Junsu will be attending the show no doubt and Yoochun wasn’t into this kind of event. “Umm..actually I have no one in mind” he admitted.
“Oh? No date for the event?” SY asked. Changmin noticed she looked a bit too happy when he told her the news.
“Date?” Changmin asked. “I haven’t thought about bringing anyone to the show…yet” he said to her.
SY raised an eyebrow. “Ohh..I see. Poor you” she said, patting his arm and giving him a reassuring smile.
Changmin gave back a tight smile and took another sip of his coffee. He just hoped he won’t have diabetes after drinking it. Just then Yunho entered the room with a paper bag and texting on his phone. Changmin took this opportunity for a distraction and greeted the VP.
“Oh hey you guys! Wow, great work Changmin! This place looks amazing!” Yunho commented looking around.
“I know!” SY exclaimed before Changmin had the chance to say something. “I am SO over the moon right now! The whole place will ready for usage this week and rehearsals for the model can begin next week!”
Yunho nodded and sneaked a glance at Changmin with a small smile. Changmin could tell that the guy was trying hard not to laugh at SY’s enthusiasm. “Good to hear about that. So what’s new SY?” Yunho asked.
“Nothing much. Same old same old. You know how showbiz is. It’s always driving me nuts and coming here is what I needed. It’s a nice break for me” SY replied, twirling a strand of hair around her finger. Just then her phone rang. “Oh..sorry. I have to take this” she said and walked away from them.
Yunho faced Changmin with a cheeky grin and Changmin rolled his eyes. “Coming here is what I needed. It’s a nice break for me!” Yunho mimicked in a high-pitch tone.
“Holy cow! You guys sounded the same!” Changmin told him. Yunho gave him a deadpanned look while Changmin continue to laugh at him. He then noticed the bag Yunho was holding. “What’s that?”
Yunho took out a box from the bag. “It’s herbal tea for my mother. I got it on my way here. She’s been having this nasty flu and you know she prefer traditional medicine rather than the doctor’s” he told him.
Changmin took the box from him and suddenly thought of someone. “Nadine” he muttered, giving Yunho back the box. “Who?” Yunho asked.
“I have to make a phone call” Changmin told him and strode out of the room. He took out his Blackberry and hesitated for a while to call her. In the end, he punched in her number and after five rings, she answered the call.
“Yoboseyo?” she asked.
“Miss Arena? It’s Mr Shim here” Changmin said, leaning on the railing.
“Oh..Hi. What’s up? Is anything the matter” Nadine asked. Changmin heard a soft music playing in the background and a rhythmic beeping sound. “Where are you?” Changmin blurted out.
“Umm..at the check out counter. At the supermarket?” Nadine told him. “Aren’t you supposed to be at home resting?” Changmin asked.
Nadine laughed. “You sound like my mother” she told him. “Could you hold on for a second?”
Changmin waited for a while listening to the soft music playing. He assumed she was making her payment as he heard the rustling of plastic bags and heard her thanking the cashier. “Hello?” she asked after a while. “Sorry about that. You were saying?”
“Um, I was..how have you been feeling?” Changmin decided to ask. “So far so good. The break’s real nice. I went to the gym this morning and then…managed to take nap” Nadine cleared her throat after that and Changmin waited for her to continue. “And then I’ve decided to do some shopping” she added.
Changmin frowned. “Are you okay?” he asked. She did not sound well to him. “Yeah, I’m fine” Nadine told him but Changmin could tell that she was forcing herself to sound fine.
“No you’re not” Changmin told her and he heard Nadine chuckling to herself. “Man, you’re good” she said with a sighed. “Miss Arena, I think you better head home now and get more rest. You shouldn’t be out there”
“Fine. I’ll head home now. IF I can get a cab here” Nadine told him. “Which supermarket are you at?” Changmin asked.
Nadine gave him the name and Changmin laughed. “You will NEVER get a cab there. It will usually take more than an hour for a cab to come by. Tell you what, why don’t I fetch you from the place and drive you home” Changmin suggested.
“Don’t you have work to do Mr Shim?” Nadine asked. Changmin bit his lip and then saw SY stepping out of the room. “I do but I don’t think the VP will mind if I’m gone for a little while. So yeah, I’ll pick you up okay? Just wait for me outside the supermarket” he said quickly as SY got nearer. Before Nadine got the chance to reply, he hung up just as SY stood near him.
“I..can’t help hearing your conversation, but you’re going somewhere?” SY asked, looking a bit disappointed.
“Um, yeah. I just remembered that I’m supposed…to…uh..fetch someone from..someplace. But I’ll be back in a hour’s time and will check on the things for you okay?” Changmin told her.
“W..well okay. Be back soon!” SY called out him as Changmin made his exit. He grinned with relief as he got into the car and speed down the road. He blasted on the radio and sang to the songs playing. He felt slightly guilty for leaving his work behind for a little while but it’s not wrong to break rules once in a while right? He knew Yunho will nag at him later, but he will handle it like a pro as usual.
Changmin saw Nadine sitting on a bench outside the supermarket building, checking her watch as he pulled into the driveway. Nadine stood up and gawked at him. “You’re fast” she commented as he stepped out of the car and helped her load the stuff into the vehicle. “Are you sure you’re not using this as an excuse to get away from work?” she asked, getting inside.
Changmin drove the car out into the streets and chuckled. “No of course not” he told her.
“Liar” Nadine told him as she faced the front. “If you get fired, I’m not going to be held responsible for it” she said.
“Alright alright, but that was because I was…trying to get away from SY” Changmin admitted.
Nadine frowned. “What did she do?”
Changmin glanced at her sideways. “Nah, you don’t want know about it. It’s embarrassing” he said as he felt his face burning.
Nadine snapped her fingers. “I know! She was hitting on you wasn’t she. That’s why you wanted to make an escape for it” she said triumphantly.
Changmin snorted. “No she wasn’t. How do you know anyway? You’re weren’t even there!” he argued.
Nadine rolled her eyes. “Oh puh-leeze. I’ve seen how SY look at you when we first met at the NAC. She’s obviously crazy for you. Any girl would”
Changmin stopped his car at a red light. “Any girl? So it applies the same for—
“Turn right after that junction. Then just drop me off at the entrance of the apartment building” Nadine interrupted him. She flashed him a smile and then leaned back and faced the front.
Changmin grinned to himself as the light turned green. From the corner of his eye…… he can't help noticing Nadine puffing out her cheeks and fanning herself.

kiisachan : you were scared too? LOL. I don't get that kind of drems..but my friend does so I took abit of hers and put it here. Hehe. Oh...you have to stay calm and don't get mad at Yoochun..although he's in the wrong as well. And Changmin ended up wanting to meet Nadine =D Spring break is over? LOL..back to school aye?
squeeness : Mr Jung reminds me of Santa Claus XD He's like this jolly old man. Yeaps, Junsu will get to the bottom of it bit by bit.
