“Speak for yourself, you’re dating Junsu” Nadine retorted, saving her work. She heard Ri In made a gagging sound. Nadine twisted in her chair to face Ri In. “We’re not dating” Ri In told her, her eyes glued to an article.
“Then are you going to agree to be his date then?” Nadine asked. Ri In shrugged. Nadine shook her head.
“Just what are you planning to do Rinnie?” Nadine wanted to know. She switched off her laptop and joined her friend on the queen-sized bed. Ri In threw her a dubious look.
“What do you mean what I’m planning to do?” Ri In asked. She lost interest in her magazine and placed it one side.
“Well…you told me you’re afraid of falling for him and now you’ve agreed to go on a date with him this weekend” Nadine pointed out, lying back on her pillow and playing with the stuffed Tigger.
Ri In who was lying at the foot of the bed gave out a loud sigh. “I didn’t EXACTLY agree to go out with him. I haven’t given him my answer yet” she simply said.
“And how long do you plan to keep him in suspense? And even if you say Yes, does that mean you’ve totally forgotten about Yoochun? But don’t you think that everything was falling into place? Yoochun’s bus came at the right time and you and Junsu were left alone. Junsu wouldn’t have popped you that question if Yoochun was there in the first place. I think Junsu’s lucky that Fate was on his ---- HEY!” Nadine dodged just in time before a stuffed teddy bear hit her in the face.
“I hate it when you come up with such theories!” Ri In hissed, sitting up with a pissed look. Nadine picked up the teddy bear from the floor and shrugged.
“Well, now it’s MY turn to have a theory. Don’t you think that it was awfully nice of Changmin to abandon his job in the middle of the day and simply whisked you away even thought he knows he’s going to get an earful from the VP? And don’t you think that it’s OBVIOUS that both are you having the hots for each other but is not afraid to say it because it might be one-sided love? But then again, it WON’T be one-sided since both have been sending in hidden messages to each other the whole time! Now is all about the right time and right place for you two to confess and get on with---AARGH!!” Ri In ducked as Nadine lung her bolster on her and both of them started having a pillow fight.
“Ok! Ok STOP!” Nadine threw herself on the bed while Ri In took a few seconds to catch her breath. Both of them looked like two goldfishes that had flew out of their bowl, gasping for air.
“That…is ..NOT…TRUE!” Nadine screeched, pointing a finger at Ri In who was standing by the window. Ri In nodded and made a motion of someone shooting arrows. “Cupid’s got a hold of your heart” she told Nadine.
Nadine frowned and sat up, her hair in a tangled mess. “The topic was on you and Junsu, not me” she told her, running her hand through her hair. “So are you going to say Yes or No? And don’t tell me, you’re going to give him the answer on Friday cause that will just kill him in the gut. Just imagine, if you say Yes, he’ll probably be over the moon and will stay awake till the weekend comes in. And if you say No, he will still stay awake and…probably thinking of suicide”
Ri In leaned against the window and stared into the night. “Don’t be silly. He won’t be THAT devasted. Suicide…pffft! I’m sure he’s not that emo” she told Nadine. “But I WILL give my answer on Friday, no doubt”
“You mean monster!” Nadine said. “What? The housewarming event for the studio will be this Friday and he will be there as well, so I might just tell him face to face. They say it’s not good to reject someone over the phone” Ri In explained. “And…I’m…
Nadine waited for Ri In to continue her sentence but the girl just threw her a dazzling smile and got ready to leave the room but Nadine got up and blocked her way. “Whatever you do, please don’t hurt him” she begged.
Ri In snorted. “What is it with you? Wait, do you like him?” she asked, narrowing her eyes.
“If I said Yes, would you be jealous?” Nadine asked, putting her hands on her hips and swaying from side to side. She watched as Ri In opened and closed her mouth and then taking a hard time to swallow. Ri In’s face was full of skepticism and it doesn’t take a long time to figure out her feelings towards Junsu.
“Oh my God, you DO like him. You’re going to say Yes arent’ you?!” Nadine squealed, jumping up and down. Ri In shoved her to the side and stormed out of the room. Nadine followed her and laughed. “That was a good scare wasn’t it? You can go ahead and mask your true colors but I can break the code anytime” Nadine said with triumph.
Ri In slumped on the couch and pouted. “That’s not fair! Ok fine, I WILL go out with him but you’re not supposed to know about it till Friday” she whined, punching Nadine squarely on the shoulder. Nadine didn’t flinch in pain but she burst out laughing again.
“What’s with all the secrecy? I’ll find out about it sooner or later” Nadine told her with a smirk. “You’re such a spoiler” Ri In retorted, still upset about it. “I’m just…I’m still unsure right now but when you think about it, he is a NICE guy. I don’t mean to compare him with Yoochun, but Junsu is…he’s..I don’t know. There’s something…weird yet amusing…about him?” she confessed.
Nadine nodded. “Yeah, even the way he was asking you…he started off with beating around the bush but ended up heading straight to the point when you started teasing him” she said. “And don’t be the big bully when you’re with him this weekend” she added.
Ri In rolled her eyes. “What are you? My mother? It’s up to me whether to make it a memorable date or not” she said with a cheeky grin. “Anyway, enough about me. Now that everything is out in the open for my case, unfortunately, what about you?”
Nadine raised an eyebrow. “I have nothing to share” she said, getting ready to get up but Ri In pulled her arm.
“No! Sit. Tell me everything. Cause from the way I see it, he’s not treating you like a client, more like a…hmmm..lover?” Ri In mused, taping her chin.
Nadine felt the heat rising on her face but she just kept quiet. “Ri In, stop sprouting nonsense. Mr Shim’s a professional worker and he is just doing his job”
“Mr Shim..Mr Shim…why can’t you just call him Changmin? Mr Shim makes him sounds old. And you remember the time when we went to the hospital to see you and when I came in, the doctor was giving you the jab and Changmin was by your side?”
Nadine shrugged. “So? What does that prove?” she asked. Ri In groaned. “Didn’t you feel the vibe in the room? The way he was standing beside you and watching out for you. I bet if the doctor accidentally breaks the needle or something, he will punch the doctor in the face for hurting you” Ri In told her.
Nadine crossed her arms and stared at Ri In. “What are you saying? Look, all I know is you’re trying to complicate things up. Chang—I mean, Mr Shim is the sponsor for the funding and I’m his client. No more than that! I bet Junsu’s dream book is messing up your mind right now”
“Oh yeah? Then why are you blushing?” Ri In asked her. Nadine touched her face and Ri In immediately laughed.
“I’m not blushing. I don’t blush. I RARELY blush” Nadine told her as she got up. “I’m going to bed” she said.
“What? But it’s still early!” Ri In pointed out, lazing out on the couch and grabbing the remote control.
“Well it’s better than hearing you talk” Nadine snapped, heading to her bedroom.
“You can’t wait to see Changmin in your dreams aren’t you?” Ri In hollered before cracking up at her own joke.
Nadine slammed the door shut with a frustrated sigh. It’s so typical of Ri In to turn the situation around and then slyly making her the victim. Nadine paced around in her room, wringing her hands and taking deep breaths.
“Nope..no..Ri In’s just making a fool out of herself for saying such things” Nadine told herself as she stood by the window and stared out into the night. The apartment block beside theirs were still lighted and while Nadine was staring off into space, her phone rang, making her jump. She picked it up without looking at the caller. When she heard Changmin’s voice, her pulse started racing for no reason.
“Yes Mr Shim?” Nadine asked in a shaky voice. She cleared her throat and then unconsciously ran her fingers through her hair, making sure it was neat. She frowned when she realized what she was doing. For Heaven’s sake, the guy can’t even see her! Pffftt….
“Hi Miss Arena, I’m calling to ask what time the small party will be this coming Friday” Changmin was saying.
“Five o’clock. I state the time and place in the invitation didn’t I?” Nadine told him, sitting at the edge of her bed.
Changmin chuckled. “Yeah, but I’m at home right now and I’ve forgotten to jot it down into my planner” he said. Nadine then heard a low purring sound in the background.
“Is that a cat?” Nadine wanted to know. “Yeah, but it’s my neighbor’s actually. I’m looking after it since she had to pick up her son from his tuition class. You want to say hello to him?” Changmin offered.
Nadine laughed. “No..it’s okay” she told him and then stifled a yawn. “Somebody sounds tired. Tough day today?” Changmin asked.
“Um, sort of” Nadine told him. Changmin chuckled again. “Alright then. I won’t disturb you. Good night Miss Arena, sweet dreams” he told her.
Nadine was kind of reluctant to hang up but ended up doing so with a heavy heart. After snuggling into her comforter and hugging Tigger, she soon fell asleep with a smile on her face.

CraazyFilipina : another update! Junsu's getting jealous even though he has no idea what the main solid reason is..haha XD Changmin and Nadine dating? Hmm...I wonder when would that be....
squeeness : Yoochun didn't want to take the ride since he finds it awkward? Perhaps he still does have feelings for Ri In even though it was a fling? LOL. Nadine had a slip of a tongue talking about SY hitting on Changmin..haha XD
