Junsu stared listlessly at a blue bird fluttering near a bush. When a brown bird hovered next to it, the blue bird took flight leaving the brown bird alone, perching on a thin branch. Junsu sighed and understood what the brown bird must been feeling at the moment. He grabbed a hold of his straw and absently stirred his cup, unaware that it is empty.
“Who died?” Changmin asked, joining him at the table with his cup of coffee and a croissant.
“Me!” Junsu whined dramatically, taking a sip of his drink. He then did a double take when he realized it was empty. Junsu slid the cup across the table and rubbed his temples.
Changmin rolled his eyes, taking a bite of his food. “What happened to you actually? You seem so dead at the meeting this morning, not to mention pissing Yunho off with your lack of attention”
“Hey, I apologized to him after that okay. He was just being cranky as usual, always picking on other people’s flaws” Junsu grumbled leaning back on his seat and taking out his phone.
“Waiting for Ri In to call you?”Changmin guessed. Junsu shoot him a look causing the younger guy to give him a surprised look.
“Wae? What’s with that look? I thought you’re head over heels for her?” Changmin said, adding sugar to his coffee.
Junsu scratched his head. “She still has feelings for….Yoochun” he finally said.
Changmin stopped stirring his coffee and his eyes widened. Junsu waved his hand in front of his face. “Yah..Changmin!” he said with impatience. “It’s not that drastic a news. Snap out of it”
Changmin finally registered what Junsu had said and gave Junsu a skeptical look. “How did you know? When did this happen? Does Yoochun know? What did—
“YAH!” Junsu snapped causing Changmin to drop his spoon. “Will you quit it? You sound like a mother hen”
Changmin shrugged. “But it’s shocking news to me. You guys just started dating and…but how did you know?” he asked.
Junsu took a deep breath before telling Changmin everything. Junsu admitted that his heart still hurts every time he recalled Ri In calling out to Yoochun’s name. He knew that her action was unintended but it’s frustrating to know that she is still holding a candle for Yoochun.
“Guess the song has a huge impact on her” Changmin was saying but he quickly kept quiet when Junsu shot him a dirty look. Changmin held up his hand apologetically. “I’m just saying” he added before resuming his to meal.
Junsu sighed. “I’m at loss” he said with defeat slouching in his chair.
“At loss of what? Jeez, you sound like a loser when you don’t even know what’s going on. Have you asked Ri In about this?”
Junsu shook his head. “No, I don’t plan to do that…yet” he admitted.
Changmin stared at him. “Why not? Instead of just torturing yourself in the dark, why don’t you just go out and ask her. Or Yoochun” he said, sipping his coffee. “Or Nadine” he suddenly said, staring outside the cafeteria.
Junsu then snapped his fingers. “You’re right! Nadine! I should ask her. She’s the closest and practically lived under one roof with Ri In. Gosh! Why didn’t I think---Changmin? Yoohoo! Earth to Changmin!”
Junsu watched as Changmin snapped out of his dream world and quickly grabbed his coffee cup, drinking it in one shot. The poor guy choked out the scalding hot coffee, his face turning red.
“I did not see that coming” Junsu commented, standing up. “I’m going to call Nadine and ask about—
Junsu stopped talking as Changmin pointed to the window while nursing his scalded tongue and coughing at the same time. Junsu looked outside and saw Nadine and her class hanging at the garden. “Oh? Why is she here?” he wondered.
“There’s this sculpture talk she and her class will be attending later in the afternoon” Changmin explained.
“Good! Then I can talk to her while her class attends the talk. Sweet!” Junsu said triumphantly as he scooted to the door. He then paused at the door and looked over at Changmin who had continued staring at where Nadine was. He frowned slightly and made his way to the table. He slammed his fist on the table causing Changmin to be startled.
“W..What? Why are you still here?” Changmin stuttered, giving him a confused look.
“I just realized something” Junsu said slowly. Changmin frowned. “What? About what?” he asked.
“You didn’t call her ‘Miss Arena’ just now” Junsu said, tapping his chin. “Why is that so?” he wanted to know.
Changmin rolled his eyes. “I think that subject is redundant” he said with ease. “What’s most important is getting to know the deal with Ri In and Yoochun before it’s too late”
“Really? You sure there’s nothing going on between you and the Art teacher? You can’t lie to me. I saw the way you were looking at ---HEY! Come back here!” Junsu screeched at Changmin who had hurriedly gotten up and leaving him alone. “I’m going to rat on you if you go against the company’s policy!” Junsu threatened Changmin but the younger guy simply waved at him before making his exit.
Junsu grumbled under his breath as he went out the other way, heading to the garden situated beside the cafeteria. Nadine saw him and gave him a wave. “Hey, what’s up” she said, scooting a little to make room for Junsu on the bench.
“Nothing’s up. I heard from Changmin you’re attending a talk later” Junsu told her. Nadine nodded. “Yeah, but I guess we’re a little early so we decided to hang out here for a while. Cool place. I like the ambience” she said.
Junsu nodded in agreement. He watched as her students hang out by the koi pond or sitting at the shady spot, talking amongst themselves. He was kind of envious of their carefree attitude and wished he was back being a teenager.
“Junsu-shii? What’s with the faraway look?” Nadine asked. “Oh..missing Ri In already?” she teased.
“Uh..no..I mean..Um..how is she?” Junsu blurted out.
“What do you mean..how is she?” Nadine questioned him.
“I..We didn’t get the chance to talk after the trip. Since I’ve been busy with work and she…umm..she’s busy too” Junsu managed to say, not meeting Nadine’s eyes.
“No she’s not” Nadine told him, crossing her arms. “In fact, she’s looking…restless these days. But she kept telling me she’s feeling fine”
“Restless? About what? The trip?” Junsu asked. Nadine shook her head. “I don’t think it’s about that. She told me she actually enjoyed the break. Going to the beach and shopping and eating all the good food. I heard her mumbling something about the trip looking like a honeymoon but I didn’t want to push it cause you know how she is when she’s fired up”
“A honeymoon? She said that? Really?” Junsu asked, his mood picking up. Hah, so Ri In was putting on a play the whole time. She actually likes the idea of going out with him. Maybe Changmin was right. Maybe he was thinking too much, but he still needs to get to the bottom of the mystery.
Nadine nodded with a smile. “I’ve never seen her so relaxed. What did you to her?” she asked, with an evil grin.
“Nadine!” Junsu whined while Nadine burst out laughing. “Just kidding!” she said.
They both kept quiet after that, lost in their own thoughts. Junsu was contemplating whether he should ask Nadine about Ri In’s past when she suddenly stood up, dusting her pants.
“W..Where are you going?” Junsu asked. “It’s almost time for the talk” Nadine told him, pointing to her watch. “You want to come along? Unless you’ve got work to do”
“Actually, I want to ask you about something but maybe after the talk. Why don’t you go ahead with your class first. I’ll catch up with you later” Junsu said.
Nadine gave him a quizzical look. “Junsu-shii, you don’t look very good. Is something bothering you? You know, I can just send my students to the seminar room and then meet you somewhere and answer whatever you have on your mind”
Junsu bit his lip. He felt wronged for bothering Nadine but he wants to hear the truth before it’s too late. “Sure..I mean if you don’t mind me—
“No problem. I’ll meet you after I make sure the class is settled” Nadine assured him as she waited for her students to assemble themselves. “But what is it you want to talk about?” she asked, before leaving the garden.
“Ri In and Yoochun. You know something about them?” Junsu asked directly, crossing his fingers behind his back. He immediately could tell that Nadine knows about it when her face fell upon hearing what he said.
“Miss Arena. We better get going” someone said. Nadine tore her gaze from Junsu and nodded. “Y..Yes, we should. Go on upstairs and I’ll meet you guys there” she told her class.
When the last of the students left the place, Nadine turned to Junsu while holding the glass door. “A..Are you sure you want—
“Yes Nadine. I want to know what happens to my friend and to Ri In. I hope you can help me” Junsu pleaded. “Please”

Changmin and Nadine almost kissed and Leeteuk just HAD to ruin the moment. Ohhh..don't worry about Junsu. He's going to get to the bottom of it!
