Junsu joined her with a weary smile and Ri In laughed at him. "Tired already?" she teased him.
"My feet's a bit sore from walking around for too long" Junsu whined and leaning his head on Ri In's shoulder.
"But you were the one who suggested to explore EVERY stall here and you're complaining?" Ri In asked poking him on the sides.
Junsu made a face. "But you were too chicken out to try your luck at the toy booth--
"That's because it's a waste of money. You didn't win anything right?" Ri In pointed out, ruffling his hair. Junsu grabbed hold of her hands but Ri In was too quick and managed to slip out of his grasp. She immediately took off and ran towards the dimly lit eco-garden.
"Ri In!" Junsu called out to the dark. His eyes darted around, hoping to spot Ri In around hiding among the tall bushed but she was nowhere to be found. "Ri In! Come out now!"
Junsu counted to five and when she did not came out, he proceeded to walk down the winding brick path and it soon got darker and darker after that and the sounds and commotion from the festival wasn't heard, except for the crickets. Junsu tried to adjust his eyes to the darkness when he heard a rustling sound beside him. He immediately followed the sound and then caught a whiff of Ri In's peachy scent.
"I know you're in there!" Junsu called out as he slowly maneuvered his way in between the potted plants, careful not to step or destroy them. He heard another rustling and he quickened his pace when he saw a dark figure running away from him. He rushed forward to the person and was about to grab her hand when yelped in pain.
"Oww...Owww.." Ri In whimpered as she slowed down, holding her left elbow. Junsu ran to her, alarm bells ringing inside his head.
"Wae? What happened?!" Junsu asked, holding up her left elbow. "You're pressing it...oww.." Ri In whined as Junsu held up her elbow to get a better look of it but he couldn't seem to since there was no light. His fingers brushed against something wet and sticky and rustic smell reaches his nose. Blood.
"Op..Oppa..I think I'm going to---
"No Ri In! You can't pass out right now. Think happy thoughts, don't think of the smell. I know how much you hated sseing blood, but you have to tell me right now where the Nurse room is!!" Junsu quickly said as he slipped his arm under her leg and carried her out of the garden...if he knows which way the Nurse room is.
"I'm..not...going to faint. I think..I...I might have to throw up if you don't put me down this instant!" Ri In warned him.
"You can..throw up on me" Junsu meekly told her as he turned slowly, squinting his eyes in the darkness.
"Pabo! And where do you think you're going? The Nurse room is straight ahead. And PLEASE put me down. I'm feeling nauseous with you spinning around" Ri I begged him.
"I'll put you down once we get to the Nurse room. I'm not going to let you faint here...oh! I see the corridor!" Junsu cried out as he quickened his pace and walked up to the stony steps. He heard Ri In making a low grunting sound as she covered her mouth with her hand and shut her eyes. When Junsu saw the red cross on one of the room, he slowly pushed the door opened and laid Ri In on the white bed located at the right side of the room.
"Just lie down and take it easy okay? I'll go get a glass of water and the first-aid kit" Junsu told her as he ran around the room looking for the items. He soon spotted the green first aid kit sitting on the nurse's table and walked to the sink where he filled a glass with warm water. He hurriedly went over to sit beside Ri In and passed her the glass. Ri In sat up slowly and gratefully accepted the drink.
"Drink it up" Junsu said as he opened the first-aid kit and sighed with relief when he saw the small glass bottle of medicated oil. While Ri In was taking small sips of the drink, he dabbed a few drops of the oil on his fingertips and then massaged it on Ri In's temples. Ri In looked up at him in astonishment and Junsu stopped what he was doing. "What? Does it hurt?" he asked with concern.
Ri In shook her head and stared into the glass. "N..No.." she mumbled and gulped down the remaining liquid in a hurry. Junsu took the empty glass from her and gently took her injured arm and inspected the wound. The cut was not that serious just some tiny scratches around the open wound and there was already dried blood forming around it.
"Is it that bad?" Ri In wanted to know, holding her elbow far away from her and Junsu nodded his head. "Real bad. We have to go to the hospital and have it stitched" he told her with a grim expression.
"WHAT? I don't want to have stitches! Do you have any idea how painful they are?!" Ri In screeched at him with a panicked look. "I'm NOT going--
"I was only kidding" Junsu interrupted with a grin. "Now sit still while I get a wet towel" he added before getting up. Ri In kicked him in the butt and Junsu laughed at her childish attempt.
"Seriously Ri In, why is it you always ended up getting hurt whenever you play pranks on me?" Junsu asked as he turned the faucet and placed the towel under the running water.
"Because you're a jinx?" Ri In guessed and then she giggled to herself. Junsu rolled his eyes as he sat back beside Ri In and accidentally added pressure on her elbow with the damp towel. Ri In let out a scream and swatted his arm away. "What the hell was that for?" she gasped and Junsu immediately felt bad whe he saw a tear rolling down her cheek.
"I..I...Mianhe..I didn't mean to" Junsu stammered as wiped the tears from her face while Ri In glared at him. "That was so stupid of me" he apologized.
"Darn right you are!" Ri In grumbled under her breath as she blinked back her tears and sniffed disapprovingly.
Junsu proceeded to clean and bandaged the wound. Both of them were quiet throughout the whole process and then he felt Ri In relaxing her arm on his, meaning she was no longer mad at him.
"Oppa, you want to ask me something?" Ri In suddenly asked. Junsu glanced up at her in surprise as he packed the first-aid kit. "No..I wasn't..thinking of asking you. What makes you say that?" he asked her.
Ri In sighed and looked down at the neat bandage Junsu had made for her. "I was..I actually meant...what I say..back there" she mumbled as she rested her chin on her knees.
"About what? About putting kebabs for Sun Mi's wedding banquet menu?" Junsu asked as he got up and put away the first-aid kit on the desk. He heard Ri In laughing to herself but deep down he knew what she was talking about. When Ri In had blurted out those three words with misty eyes, he knew that she was the one he wants to spend for the rest of his life. He knew Ri In was also nervous when she told him that she loved him and he was even more nervous when Sun Mi and Yoochun came back with their drinks. Ri In looked as if she was in a fragile state but she managed to put on a mask and delightfully starting chatting with Sun Mi about the wedding plans. Junsu had find it awkwardly weird that Ri In was able to quickly adapt herself at the changes and she didn't even batted an eyelash when Yoochun casually ask her a few questions. It's like as if they were just normal colleagues leading a normal life.
"Oppa..? Is something wrong?" Ri In asked, patting his shoulder. Junsu turned around and looked down at Ri In who was staring back at him with a questioning look. Junsu shook his head as he ran his fingers through her hair.
Ri In gave him a small smile. "You're a bad liar" she whispered as she tiptoed and kissed his lips. "I know what you're thinking. You think I might get trap again in the past by helping Sun Mi with her wedding am I right?" she asked, leaning on his chest and placing her arm around his waist.
Junsu enveloped her in his arms and eventually nodded. "I know...that you're over and done with...the past but what about Yoochun? You think he is?"
Ri In kept quiet for a while. "Maybe you should ask him" she suggested, looking up at him.
"Ask him? But..that would be--
"Inapporiate? I don't think so. I think it's about time you guys should do some bonding about this whole thing? Cause personally..I feel..suffocated not knowing what how the other party is doing..and besides..we're all adults here" Ri In told him.
"You've put in a lot of thought about this matter haven't you?" Junsu asked her. Ri In nodded and Junsu sighed. "It's not..going to be easy trying to let Yoochun talk..he's kind of private..but I'll see what I can do" Junsu told her as he traced her cheekbones.
Ri In smiled at him. "You..don't mind at all?" she asked him. Junsu shook his head. "It's better to clear the air between us don't you think?" he said. Ri In nodded and kissed him on the cheek. "Come on let's get back to the festival,I'm don't feel giddy anymore and besides I wouldn't want to miss those brownies" Ri In said pulling his arm towards the door.
They both stumbled into the dark corridor and walked down the bricky path of the Eco-Garden. "Oppa, you don't want to try those brownies? I thought you told me they were your favorite?" Ri In asked him.
Junsu shrugged. "Why should I eat those..when I already got my own sweet treat here?" he said as he pulled Ri In closer to him. Ri In shook her head and laughed. "That's lame!" she told him. "But I kind of like it" she added as she planted a kiss on his cheek and then took off running. "Last one to the booth is a loser!" Ri In called out.
Junsu groaned. "Not again!"
