Nadine chewed on her egg sandwich and beckoned to the photo. "Sun Mi wanted something like this?" she asked. Ri In shrugged. "I don't know. I'm only coming with suggestions and ideas for her" she said, reaching out for a packet of sugar.
"But seriously Rinnie, why did you agree? It's suicide helping out your ex's wedding you know that? Some people say it's a jinx" Nadine told her. Ri In rolled her eyes. "What did you had in mind when I told you about it?" she asked Nadine.
Nadine poked her fork at the bits and pieces of her sandwich and thought for a while. "Well...I thought you were..you know..like in the movies. Where the ex-girlfriend said that she's fine after the break-up but actually she's not. And then she got closer to the ex-boyfriend's fiancee but in truth all she wanted was to brutally murder the bride-to-be before her wedding night and then whisk the boyfriend away to an unknown island...and...yeah..that's the whole story I was thinking about when you told me the news"
Ri In burst out laughing at Nadine's silly storyline until she ended up spilling some of the tea that she was stirring. "My God! You've been watching too much dramas haven't you?!" Ri In gasped, grabbing a few napkins and wiping the mess she did on the table. Ri In took a second to compose herself but then she ended up laughing again when she replayed Nadine's story in her mind.
Nadine rolled her eyes. "Yeah whatever. Cause I am STILL not convince that you're over and done with...Yoochun" she said, sipping her drink.
"What is up with you people? When I say I am fine, I am REALLY one hundred percent fine. You and Junsu just don't get it do you?" Ri In asked. She was actually growing tired of this game actually. She admits that she was a bit saddened that Junsu was also having a hard time believing her but she can't blame him. The whole fling thing was a huge blow to him...his best friend being unfair to her...but that was all history. Gone with the wind. No point hanging on to it. Move on to Chapter 2!
"It's not about me not getting the part, but I can't help being worried about the whole thing. It's happening so fast...and you're okay with it?" Nadine wanted to know.
Ri In nodded. "I am definitely okay with it. And I shall not say that Yoochun's my..ex-boyfriend. He's more of...a ghost in the past" she told Nadine.
Nadine stared at her friend in surprise. "Really? It's that simple?" she asked, leaning back on her seat. Ri In shook her head. "It's not that easy actually. But you need to learn to adapt to the changes around you remember? You were the one who told me that even though the final blow hits you so hard in the face, we have to remain strong no matter what. And here I am, stronger than ever!" Ri In said triumphantly posing like a body builder.
Nadine laughed at her comical pose. "Stop! The students are staring at you" she said. "And not to mention that there's a certain someone helping you to fixed that broken heart of yours eh?"
Ri In blushed and looked down at her painted nails. "You're happy being with him. I can see that" Nadine told her. Ri In glanced up and gave her a small smile. "He's a major part of your life right now Rinnie. Don't let him out of your sight...and I think he will do the same as well, am I right?" Nadine added, making Ri In blushed even more.
"Don't you have class to go to?" Ri In questioned Nadine. Nadine stuck out her tongue. "Fine..fine. I'm leaving. What about you?"
Ri In shrugged. "I might hang around here for a while before retreating back to the library" she said. Nadine nodded. "See you later"
When Nadine went back to the studio, Ri In continued to check out the magazine again when her phone rang. An unknown number flashed on her screen and Ri In rejected it, thinking it was a prank call. The phone rang again and Ri In answered it this time. "What?" she snapped, hopefully the prank caller will hang up upon hearing her angry voice.
"Is that how you normall greet people?" Junsu asked on the other line. Ri In bit her lips and slapped herself on the forehead. "No..I don't. But I hate having unknown numbers on the phone. I...had my own taste of prank callers before" she explained to him.
"I see..I'm actually calling from my office number since I'm charging the phone. So save this number so that you won't yell at me araso?" Junsu teased her.
Ri In laughed. "No problem. So..why are you calling?" she asked as she flipped to another page and scanned the list of designer bridal gowns.
"Why? You don't like me calling you? You don't miss hearing my voice?" Junsu asked, sounding a bit offended. Ri In giggled. "No..it's just--
"You DON'T miss me?!" Junsu interrupted her, making her laugh even more. "Oppa..stop. Everyone's staring at me! And yes, I do miss you" Ri In told him. She stood up and collected the magazine as she left the cafeteria and walked down the empty corridor. Her footsteps echoed as she strolled down the area looking at the colored papers placed on the notice boards. "Are you going to see Sun Mi later...about her wedding gown?" Junsu asked.
"Maybe...the whole thing isn't confirmed yet. She's supposed to call me about it later on. Why? You want to come along too?" Ri In asked him.
Junsu made a funny gagging sound. "No way. I bet those girl talks will turn me off. And besides I know how you girls are when it comes to trying out those gown..it will ages for you to settle on one"
Ri In laughed at him. "Of course it will take ages! It's a special day for a girl and she'll need too pick up the perfect outfit for that event. She's going to be the Queen for the day remember?"
"I know that, but I just find the whole planning so...suffocating. Why a big wedding? I prefer a small one. With only your loved ones attending it...but the most important, is the person standing by your side..the one you're going to spend the rest of your life with" Junsu told her.
Ri In stepped into library, quietly listening to what Junsu was saying. She felt a warm sensation running through her body hearing him saying "the one you're going to spend the rest of your life with". "Oppa...that's..."
"Lame? Yeah I know" Junsu cut in. "No..that's..beautiful actually. I didn't know you had that picture in your mind" Ri In told him as she sat behind the counter.
Junsu cleared his throat and Ri In sensed that he was getting a bit uneasy about it. "I..wasn't into big weddings actually, so I..uhm...have you eaten?" he suddenly asked.
Ri In giggled as his sudden change of subject. "Yes...I have" she replied. "What did you have?" Junsu wanted to know. It was obivous that he was a bit embarassed at what he had said earlier on.
"Nothing much. Just the usual tea and spicy noodle" Ri In told him, playing along with him. "Oppa, I have to go now. The Senior will come in any minute to check on me. She won't be pleased if she sees me using the phone"
"Araso. I'll see you this Wednesay, for the dinner? Remind Nadine as well" Junsu told her.
"Sure. I'm going to hang up now okay? Make sure you don't work too hard and take your vitamins" Ri In reminded him.
"Ahh..yes. You should go back to your work..and...Ri In...."
"Yes?" Ri In waited for what Junsu wanted to say but all she heard was silence on the other line.
"Uhmm...I...I..love you too, you know that?" Junsu blurted out making Ri In's face getting warmer. Ri In smiled. "Yes, I know that. You don't have to tell me" she whispered.
"A..Araso. I'll see you this Wednesday then" Junsu said. When they both hung up, Ri In bit her lips to prevent herself from smiling too wide as the Senior came strolling in to do her routine check up. As she waited for the compute to start up, her eyes fell upon the magazine resting on the counter. She took it and idly flipped to a few pages and she stopped at a page where it was featuring a "garden wedding" concept. Her eyes lit up as she scanned the pictures of spacious lawns closed in by native gardens. Something so plain can be turned into a fairytale area with the right touch. There was a picture of pleasant grassy area and then overlooking a river. The plus point was everyone gets to witness the amazing sunset views over the water and foreshore.
And Ri In actually like what Junsu had in mind....simple and elegant at the same time...she can't help wondering for a teeny bit... when that picture will come to live....
