“Rainie?”
“Rainie’s not here. This is her voice speaking.”
“Very funny, Rainie. Wake up. You have to be at the gas station in an hour.”
“It’s too early for such jokes, my babycakes. I love you, I do but…”
“I knew you wouldn’t let me down. Can you wake Mike up too?”
“No. I’ll wake Joe. He lives nearer me. You wake Mike.”
“But…” Ariel sputtered.
“Hello?” Rainie had already hung up.
She called Wu Chun to see where he was.
“Where are you? “
“I’m setting up at the gas station, the media is already here.”
“What? So soon?”
“Yeah. The guys are with me. When should I expect you?”
“Give me half an hour. I have to get Mike and the others.”
“No probs, see you then, Sunshine.” He hung up.
Ariel bit her lip uncertainly. Maybe she could try calling Mike first. Ariel thought to herself, “If I remember anything about him, I remember that he sleeps like the dead. I have to go to his place.”
Ariel drove to Mike’s house, traveling roads she hadn’t traveled in a long while. She parked in his driveway and walked up to the door. Calling Mike’s name, she banged on the door. No answer. It was just as she’d expected. A kettle caught her eye. Hmm. She wondered if he still kept his key in the kettle. Weird habit, as though he were still an ordinary village boy. Yep, there it was.
Ariel used to the key to get inside Mike’s house, not feeling one shred of remorse.
“It’s not really breaking in.” She told herself. “I used a key.”
She crept to his bedroom and sure enough, there he was, He Jun Xiang, arm thrown over his face, dead to the world.
Ariel smiled evilly. She went into the kitchen and got an ice cube. Creeping back to his room, Ariel neared his bed with the full intention of dropping the ice cube down his shirt. Suddenly, the sleeping Mike’s nose twitched and Ariel went nearer to his face. All of a sudden, he grabbed her and she was on the bed beside Mike, held against him.
Ariel nearly had a heart attack. “OMIGOD! What the hell?” Remembering she still had the ice cube in her hand, she slapped at Mike’s hands which were around her until she had some moving room. Then she slipped the ice cube down his shirt.
“Aaiiieeee!!!” There was an instantaneous reaction and Mike jumped up and fell from the bed. He sat up on the floor groaning.
Ariel peeked up from bed and said smiling, “Good morning, He Jun Xiang!”
“Sailor Moon?” Mike whispered.
“Sailor Moon? No, it’s Ariel.” Ariel said frowning. Then her synapses fired.
“HAHA!!! You have a crush on Sailor Moon?”
“No!” Mike denied hotly. He got up and started scrimmaging in his closet. “Did you come to get me for the carwash?” He said avoiding her gaze.
“Sailor Moon, hehehe.” Ariel would not move past that.
Mike glared at Ariel. “Unless you want me to change in front of you, you are going to have to wait in the living room for me.”
“Okay, Sailor Moon lover.” And Ariel skipped out humming the theme song.
After she left, Mike closed his bedroom door and banged his head on the wall. He looked up at the ceiling. “Why don’t you just make it easier and SHOOT me!”

“Buy me breakfast.” Joe said to Rainie as they walked down his driveway.
“No.” Rainie said smiling happily.
“Why not?! I’m hungry!” Joe said sulkily.
“You are always hungry.” Rainie said, reaching out to tuck a lock of Joe’s hair behind his ear.
He slapped her hand away and pouted.
“Fine. Ariel will buy me breakfast.” He said taking out his cell phone.
“I sent her to wake Mike up.” Rainie said starting the car.
“You WHAT?” Joe exclaimed, startled.
“You heard me. Let’s go, I have to pick Ethan up from his place too.”
“But why would you do something like that?”
“Cuz he asked me to.”
“No, I mean, send Ariel to wake Mike up.” Joe said.
“Oh. She lives nearer to him. It makes more sense. And besides, it’s good for them to spend more time together.” Rainie looked over to Joe. “What?”
“No. I was just wondering why she went along with your idea…our Yi Chen is spreading her wings nowadays, have you noticed?” Joe said looking contemplative.
“Could be that she regrets not talking to Mike for that long. He hurt her plenty but my babycakes does not hold grudges.” Rainie replied. Looking mischievous, she added, “Who knows, maybe they’ll rekindle their love.”
“You think so?” Joe asked. “You really think so?”
Rainie shrugged. “I don’t know, okay okay, don’t give me that face, I’ll buy you breakfast. After we pick Ethan up.”
Busy as she was driving, Rainie failed to notice the hooded expression on Joe’s face.

I promised the carwash but then, the chapter would have been too long and you guys are spoiled as it is by my frequent updates so nyah. Hehe. Tomorrow, promise. That is, if I survive my exam.
