I was a wallflower
Lost among the glory of the disco lights

Monarch wings stampeded to the orchids
I dreamt of stilettos kissing the sun struck moon

I croaked a song of crocheted decorum
it was a toxic symphony of envy

Then one day I caught a firefly
and stole its fire light off on me

Now I too glow all night long.
