“Take the kid into special care room and prepares the operation, and the woman take her into the operation room now. Since the kid is losing too much blood, our hospital couldn’t give out that much, we have to contact his family members, and hopefully he will go through.” The doctor said, and nurses quickly prepare and do what he told them.
They found Ming-Ming’s phone in her purse and press #1 on her speed dial and it was Hiu Chung. “Hello?” Hiu Chung picked up the phone, “Hello this is the Yan hospital, we’re calling you to let’s you know that a woman named Yuen (Hiu-Chung’s surname) Ming-Ming and her kid Jackie Yuen has involve in a car crash. Their conditions are really bad, our doctors guesses are Mrs. Yuen can’t keep her baby, but her condition will be serve and she’ll be all right. But the kid, Jackie Yuen is in a bad condition, his brain is injured deficiently and it’s still bleeding, he’s losing a lot of blood. If you’re his dad or related to him, please come to have a blood test.” The nurse said.
“I am her husband, I will come right away.” “Alright, thank you, I will contact other people on her phone list.” The nurse said and she hung up.
Hiu Chung rushes to the bathroom washes his face and get changed, he grabs the car key and hurries down. The rain pours down heavily and the sky is really dark. The traffic was also bad.
Chi Lam got to the hospital before Hiu Chung, and he found the nurse, he felt somewhat of an awful feelings, like his love ones is in there somewhere suffering with pain, he quickly rush over to the main table. “Excuse me, is there someone named Yuen Ming-Ming get charge into the hospital?”
“Yes sir, are you…Mr. Yuen Hiu Chung? Because we called and….” The nurse was about to finish but Hiu Chung got there and cuts in, “I am Yuen Hiu Chung, where is my wife and Jackie?” he asks, his face was really worry and scared.
“Hiu Chung?” Chi Lam asked surprise, “Oh, Chi Lam, how come you’re here?” “I don’t know I felt that I need to come here some how,” he said, “Um, excuse me, who’s Mrs. Yuen’s husband?” the nurse interrupted them.
“I am!” Hiu Chung said, “What happened to Ming-Ming, where is she?” “Mrs. Yuen is having an operation now, the doctors said she’ll be alright, but your kid, Jackie Yuen is not in that kind of a positive situation, please come with me, I’ll have you blood tested so you can give him some…” the nurse said and she took him in the testing room.
Outside the operation room, Chi Lam is really worried; he keeps on praying to god not to take Ming-Ming away. He also says that he rather lose ten years of his life for Ming-Ming to get over this outcome. The operation light turns off and the doctors came out with a relieve look on his face.
Chi Lam quickly went over and the doctor smiles as he patted his shoulder, “Your wife is alright MR. Don’t worry, she will be awake in 30 minutes. But…we’re sorry, we try our best…but the baby she’s carrying is…gone…” Hiu Chung came out of the blood testing room and he overheard what they say, the baby, his…and her baby…it’s gone…? He felt bad but he quickly snap out, why I am even thinking of this jealousy, Ming-Ming and Jackie is in a bad situation, besides I still have Jackie. Hiu Chung told himself and then went over to join them.
In her dream Ming-Ming saw Jackie, Hiu Chung, their new baby and she were all having a fun picnic outside, the sky was so clear and the weather was nice. Hiu Chung and Jackie were kiting running around while she was making sandwiches for them and taking care of the baby. Suddenly the sky turns so dark and rain starts to fall, Jackie came back, he was all wet and he was crying so hard, “Mommy…daddy…daddy is gone…” Ming-Ming looks on her side and there’s no baby, her baby is also gone…and she woke up. “Don’t!” she yells and sat up, her head is really hurt and she starts to get dizzy.
“Ming-Ming, are you ok?” Chi Lam and Hiu Chung ask at the same time, tears starts to fill up in her eyes she quickly grabs Hiu Chung and hugs him tightly. “Hiu Chung, you’re still here, thanks god.” She said crying Hiu Chung wrapped his arms around her and comfort her, “It’s alright, I am here, don’t be scare, it’s over, you’re safe now Ming-Ming.” Chi Lam looks down at his feet and he felt his heart tearing apart.
She quickly realizes that Jackie wasn’t there, “Where’s Jackie Hiu Chung?” she asks looking up at him, he stays silent and shook his head, she notices his eyes were red and they’re watery, “What happened?” she asks emotionally as tears falling freely on her face. He kneels down and took her hand, “the doctor said his condition is really bad, and he needs us to donate blood, we’re still waiting for the report for my blood test.” Ming-Ming’s heart suddenly feel cold, it’s like she knew something.
“I want to go see him…” she said crying, “But…Ming-Ming you’re so weak,” Chi Lam finally said, “It’s none of your business, get out of my face, I just want to see my son.” She said getting up; “Ok Ming-Ming, I’ll help you there,” Hiu Chung said scooping her into his arms and carries her to the special room that Jackie was in.
The nurse won’t let them in since Jackie is so weak so he need silent to sleep and rest, Ming-Ming put her hand on the glass window and looks at her son laying there motionless.
Her heart beats fast and she felt the pain, she bits her lower lips and cries quietly. Hiu Chung came and puts his arms around her shoulder patting her, “It’s ok Ming-Ming, he’ll be ok, Jackie is a good boy, he will survive, they’re testing my blood now, he will have a surgery soon and he’ll come back to a lively little boy again.” Hiu Chung said warmly and comfortingly making Ming-Ming feels a little better, she leans back into his chest.
At the same moment…Chi Lam felt so useless, seeing Ming-Ming in pain and he couldn’t help but just stare at her watching her getting protections from Hiu Chung.
