The nurse took out the report and handed to Hiu Chung, “I am sorry, but…your blood type doesn’t match your son…are you sure you’re his father?” Hiu Chung stared at her in shock, he drops the report and Ming-Ming lowers her head looking at the floor, Chi Lam rushes over and pick up the report to recheck on it.
“Excuse me…? Are you sure this report is 100 percent right, did you make any mistake, I am his father, my blood type should be matched with JACKIE!” Hiu Chung said losing his control and tempers, “Hiu Chung, calm down,” Chi Lam said, “Yes, I am sure that this report is done carefully.” The nurse said as the words Ming-Ming felt dizzy and she know she couldn’t take it anymore, everything turn black and she fell into Hiu Chung’s arms. “Ming-Ming…” she could hear his voice and his shake…but not too clearly.
Moment later she Ming-Ming woke up and found her self in the same room she was in earlier, she looks up at Hiu Chung and saw his face was down, he seems to be very upset and Chi Lam was looking out the window. She touches his hand and he looks at her, there were angers in his eyes, she could tell… “Ming-Ming, I know it’s not time to be nosy, but please tell me who Jackie’s father is, we have to help him, and his life is the top thing right now.”
Hiu Chung said seriously and Chi Lam came over, “Yes Ming-Ming, we know it’s hard to say, but please tell us who Jackie’s father is?” Ming-Ming took her hand off from Hiu Chung she looks off into space and nodded, tears run down on her face. “I am sorry Hiu Chung, for lying to you all this time…I didn’t want to but I….” she said trying to explain, “Shh…no need, just tell me who’s his father…” Hiu Chung said, Ming-Ming looks at Chi Lam, he looks at her and starts to understand and remembers…
“Chi Lam, you sure leave me with a lot of things, first, my broken heart, embarrassment from our canceled wedding, sad memories of you and the most important thing a child within me…” she said breaking down into tears she looks down at her fingers, feeling lonely, ashamed and dirty. Chi Lam looks at her in shocked, after all Jackie is his son, no wonders he feels so familiar with Jackie…he felt his heart burn in sadness and angers, he’s mad at himself for leaving Ming-Ming, now all he wants is to get her back along with his son.
He have thought about it, but she’s with Hiu Chung and have a son too he doesn’t want to bother her and make her more sad and depress, but now he knew that Jackie is his son, he want her to belong to him and only to him. “Ming-Ming…I…” She sighs, refusing his words “Go outside!” she said, Hiu Chung and Chi Lam looks at her then went to the door, Ming-Ming pulls Hiu Chung back, “Can I have a words with you??” Hiu Chung looks at her and sits down; Chi Lam went outside and closes the door.
He went to the nurse and asks her to test his blood, and then he came over to where Jackie is in and looks at him. So you’re my son? He smiles touching the glass, Jackie, you’ll be alright and you’ll wake up and call me daddy. We are going to have a best family in a beautiful house with mommy. Chi Lam thoughts, he know that his most important things right now are Ming-Ming and Jackie.
“Hiu Chung, you haven’t spoken to me about…” Ming-Ming touches her tummy, “Where is the baby?” she asks, her eyes are red and teary, “Ming-Ming…” he reaches over and held her hands in his, “Ming-Ming, you need to calm down and listen…” he stops and wipes her tears away, “Our baby, it’s…it’s no longer here…” “Hiu Chung? What do you mean no longer here?” She looks at him shock and grabs his shirt, tears flow fast on her face, he hugs her tightly.
“Our baby is in heaven, along with other fairies and your grandparents, it’s safe up there, Ming-Ming, you shouldn’t be crying…” “Hiu Chung,” she loosens her grip on his shirt and cry in his arms, “I am sorry, I can’t even keep our…our kid, I lost it…I am so careless…and now…Jackie’s….” she cries more hardly, “I am sorry, I lied to you…but…I don’t know how to explains it, I just don’t want Jackie to be born without a father…” she said wrapping her arms around his body. “Ok, lie down and sleep, don’t talk about this now, you’re still really weak. Our baby will be happy up there somewhere, don’t be so sad Ming-Ming.” He places her down and kisses her forehead pulling the blanket to her, “I’ll go outside, you get to sleep.” He said leaving.
Hiu Chung is stuck, he doesn’t know how to treats Ming-Ming now, he doesn’t want to be mean to her but the feeling of hatred couldn’t escape from his mind. Every time he thinks Ming-Ming lying to him, and Jackie is not his son, he’s not Jackie’s father…and the worse thing Chi Lam his best friend is…he felt mad, angry and he doesn’t know who to be angry with. Inside him is emptiness, in one day he has lost three things, his innocent wife, his son and his new baby that Ming-Ming was carrying, he doesn’t know who to come to, to talk to, he just wanted to find a place for his heart to be console.
Hiu Chung went to Jackie’s place and he saw Chi Lam was there; he came over, “Hey.” he said. Chi Lam looks at him, “Hiu Chung, I have something…to tell you, I hope you’ll understand.” Chi Lam started. Hiu Chung looks at him and nodded, “Go ahead…”
