Chi Lam took Ming-Ming’s hand and smiles at her, Ming-Ming smiles back nervously, he reaches over and strokes some hair out of her face, “What’s wrong?” he asks, Ming-Ming shook her head, “I don’t know how to explain this to Jackie, he’s still so young, you know…to understand us…” Chi lam squeezes her hand, “Don’t worry Ming-Ming, Jackie is young but he really understands, he would be okay and accept us, I promise.” Ming-Ming just nodded and leans over to his shoulder, Chi Lam smiles and continue driving (ODDIE, >.< be careful driving =D)
They pick up Jackie and there was an awkward silent among Ming-Ming, Chi Lam and her parents. “Mom, dad, I am going to take Jackie home now,” she said, pulling Jackie into her arms, they nodded, looking at Chi Lam, feeling shameful. “I am sorry Chi Lam,” her dad finally speaks up, Chi Lam turns and look at him, confuse, “I am sorry, I should have understand better than being hard-headed and push you away from Ming-Ming…” he said, Chi Lam smiles, “Uncle, please don’t say that, I am glad that after all, you understand us.” Mr. Ming-Ming and Mrs. Ming-Ming nodded happily, but they quickly glance over to Ming-Ming who was standing at the door, waiting with Jackie, they knew that she was avoiding and is still mad at them. Chi Lam looks and he understand, “Uncle, Auntie, don’t worry, I’ll talk to Ming-Ming, she won’t be mad for so long…” Chi Lam said, they look at him and he smiles warmly, maybe…after all, Chi lam was a nice guy, they nodded. “Thank you Chi Lam, take care of our daughter and Jackie.” Mr. Ming-Ming lets out; Chi Lam nodded and excuses himself.
He walks over and smiles at Jackie and Ming-Ming, “Let go home,” he said, and he held Ming-Ming’s hand, and they walk out to his car. Jackie was silent the whole ride, he has never been like this, Jackie always blabbering and talk, but today was different. He sat on the back, staring out at the window and counts the streetlights as the car ran pass. Ming-Ming turns her head and look, she felt uneasy and worry, Chi Lam look into the mirror and notice their expressions, he give Ming-Ming a squeeze “Everything will be ok…” he whispers softly. Ming-Ming wanted to believe that…but some how she can’t…she got the strange feeling that something…is going to happen.
They finally arrive at the house, Chi Lam went to open the door for Ming-Ming and then Jackie but before that, Jackie push the door open and it bang against Chi lam’s forehead, he didn’t even say sorry he just look and walk away. “Jackie,” Ming-Ming calls, no answer, “Jackie,” silent, “Jackie, stop right there.” He stopped, she rushes over and pulls him around, “Say sorry to uncle Lam,” Ming-Ming said with a serious tone. Jackie remains silent, “Jackie, quit being stubborn,” Ming-Ming yells. Jackie started to cry, she raises her hand and was about to hit him, “Ming-Ming, I am fine, don’t worry, Jackie didn’t mean to do that on purpose right Jackie,” Chi Lam try to smooth things up, but Jackie glares at him, Ming-Ming was so angry, “Jackie Yuen, you did that on purpose didn’t you, what a bad boy you are.” She raises her hand and slaps him on the hand, he cries harder, “Ming-Ming,” Chi Lam yells, he went over and hugs Jackie, “Are you ok?” Jackie pushes him out. “You’re not my daddy, I want my daddy, my daddy, mommy, after you divided with daddy, you have been so mean to me, and you only care about this guy!!!! I hate you, I hate you too!” he shouted into Chi Lam and Ming-Ming’s face, “Jackie, uncle Lam is your daddy; stop acting up or else…I will disown you…” Ming-Ming said. Jackie stares at them in disbelief, “Ming-Ming, don’t be like that, you’ll scared him…” Chi Lam said touching her arm trying to calm her down. “Jackie, what your mom said is the entire true, we love you, we don’t want you to be upset, I am your daddy…” Chi Lam reaches out, there were beezing (I DON’T even know what beezing is, I just…made it up…ha ha=D) in Jackie’s ears, he couldn’t hear or believe anything.
Jackie stomps onto Chi Lam foot and ran out the street. He got into the cab and it went away. Tears went down on Ming-Ming’s cheek, she shook her head feeling so tire. Chi Lam pulls her into a tight hug. “I am sorry Chi Lam, I shouldn’t have yelled at him…I don’t know what to do…I was…” “Shh…don’t worries, calm down, we have to go after him now…we have to find Jackie…everything will be fine again…I promise.” Chi Lam said, he wants to console her, but the true is his heart is bursting; he’s worry too…even more than Ming-Ming.
Hiu Chung was making noodles with shrimp when he heard the door bell ring. He quickly places things down and turn off the stove. He went to the door and pulls it open. There stood Jackie, sobbing with red eyes. “Jackie…?” Hiu Chung kneels down, wiping his tears, “What happened?” “Daddy…Jackie wants to stay with you…” Jackie cries harder hugging Hiu Chung, he hugs Jackie back, “Come on…come in here and tell daddy what happened.” Even though he has separated with Ming-Ming, he still treats Jackie as his son and loves him so much.
Jackie and Hiu Chung sat down on the couch and Jackie begin, “Daddy, I don’t want to go home, mommy doesn’t likes me anymore, she only cares about that uncle Lam guy, they said he’s my daddy. Jackie only have one daddy and it’s you…I don’t like them daddy. Why did they say that?” Hiu Chung felt a knot in his heart, how is he going to explains this to Jackie, he’s too young to understand. Suddenly his phone rang, “Give me a second okay Jackie, don’t cry, daddy’s here with you.” He said, picking up the phone, Jackie sobs, and nodded lightly.
“Hello?” “Hiu Chung,” Ming-Ming said he glances over to Jackie and went into the kitchen lowering his voice, “Ming-Ming, Jackie is here with me, come pick him up anytime, he’s upset, I’ll try to guide him out of this…” Hiu Chung said, “Really? He’s over there,” she said happily, as tears flow out from her eyes, “Thank you Hiu Chung, I’ll come pick him up right now, take care of him for me…thank you…” she said, “Ok, I’ll go back and talk to him…” Hiu Chung said, “All right, bye…” “Bye, don’t worry much Ming-Ming, I promise I’ll try my best to convince Jackie,” “Thank you Hiu Chung,” “Ok, bye…” they hung up. Hiu Chung walks back to Jackie, and he’s still crying, “Jackie…” he slumps down next to Jackie, “Daddy…can I stay here with you, I don’t want to go home…” Jackie said, hugging Hiu Chung tightly, “But, mommy and Chi Lam would get really worry and anxious about you,” “I don’t care daddy, I only want you, you’re the only daddy I have!!!” Jackie said, emotionally. Hiu Chung smiles at his cute little son and patted his back, “Don’t worry, daddy won’t tell, come on, daddy made some noodles, let come and have dinner with daddy,” Jackie nodded at the offer and the two sat eating, watching Jackie’s favorite cartoon show and talk together. After a while Jackie fell asleep due to the tiredness, Hiu Chung carried him into the bedroom and the bell rung.
Hiu Chung rushes outside and opens the door, Ming-Ming and Chi Lam was holding hands, standing at his doorway. Ming-Ming looks in, and Hiu Chung put his index finger on his mouth, “Shh, I haven’t talk to Jackie yet, he’s asleep,” he said, signaling them to come in. They nodded and walk in the house, they sat down and has tea with Hiu Chung. “Jackie seem to be really upset, I afraid I might make him even more upset if I talk about you guys, so I just let it flow, but he fell asleep while I was about to start…” “It’s ok, we’ll explain to him, let wait for a few minutes, since Jackie just fell asleep.” Chi Lam nodded and so does Hiu Chung. They sat and talk until they heard the door creaks and Jackie steps out. “Daddy…” he calls out and rubs his eyes, when he opens them he was surprise. His mom and Chi Lam were there. “Daddy, you lie to Jackie? You promise me you won’t tell mommy I was here!!!” Jackie said, starting to cry.
Hiu Chung rushes over, “Jackie, don’t cry, mommy and daddy Lam is picking you up, there’s nothing wrong with it right?” “But I don’t want them, Jackie hates them, he’s not my daddy, Jackie only has one daddy and one mommy, they’re you and mommy, why can’t you guys be together. Why can’t we be a family again? Why does uncle Lam have to be my daddy? Jackie doesn’t understand, Jackie only want daddy and mommy!” he cries harder, making Ming-Ming cries also. Chi Lam felt bad, Jackie is his own son and he’s not accepting him as a daddy. “Jackie,” Ming-Ming kneels down next to him, “Go away Mommy, I don’t like you!!!” Jackie yells, “Jackie, don’t say that, she’s your mom anyway,” Hiu Chung said and Jackie grab onto him, he patted Jackie’s head. “Calm down Jackie, listen to me, do you want mommy to be happy, do you love her?” Jackie nodded, “Well, then think of it this way, Mommy is really happy to be with uncle Lam, you should be happy for them right?” Jackie stays quiet, “Here, look, if Jackie have 2 daddies, just think about it, you would get double gifts fro holidays and stuff. You have two daddies to love you and to take you to places. You should be proud right Jackie?” Jackie looks up, “I…” Ming-Ming puts her hands on her mouth, looking at Jackie, crying, she can’t hold it in, she understand this is too much for her son…she felt guilty, Chi Lam sat down and embraces her.
Jackie stares at them and realize that mommy is calmer when she’s in his uncle Lam’s arms. “See Jackie? You have to understand, Chi Lam is your second daddy, it’s not like you’re going to lose me, daddy will still be here and still love you the same. We all love you Jackie…” Hiu Chung said, Jackie looks at Ming-Ming and Chi Lam, they also nodded, “Mo…mommy…” Jackie said leaning toward into her arms, tears drips down both of their faces. They embrace each others tightly as Chi Lam patted Hiu Chung’s shoulder, “Thank you…” he said, Hiu Chung smiles and nodded, “I am sorry mommy, Jackie was so reckless, I shouldn’t run away and talk back to you like that earlier, I am sorry mommy, I am sorry!” he said, Ming-Ming shook her head and smiles, “It’s ok, as long as you understand, mommy’s happy.” Ming-Ming said, pushing him out gently to look at his face. Ming-Ming raises her hand and wipes his tears away, she kisses his forehead and Jackie kisses her back. “Daddy Chi Lam…” Jackie turns to Chi Lam, Chi Lam is now shocked, “What, what did you call me Jackie?” “Daddy Chi Lam,” Jackie repeated, Chi Lam’s eyes got red and he hugs Jackie. “Jackie, my son, my little son,” the four hugs each others….in peace and happiness.
A month later:
“Miss Ming-Ming, do you promise to love this man, to accept him as your husband, to be there with him when he’s hurt and everything?” the pastor asks her, she glances over to Chi Lam and nodded, “Yes, I do…” she said, smiling
“Mr. Chi Lam, do you promise…” the pastor got cut again (Remember this part, LOL), Ming-Ming looks at him, please don’t do this again, don’t let it be the same as the past 6 years ago, on their wedding where Chi Lam dump her, please don’t let this be…
“I DO!” Chi Lam yells out and hugs Ming-Ming, she cries, and hugs him back, tightly, “Chi Lam,” “Don’t worry Ming-Ming, the mistake I made, I won’t make it a second time…I love you!” Chi Lam said. They looks at each other, tears filled up in her eyes, and she smiles, tears of joy, the flows down on her beautiful face, and they leans in kissing. The wedding bell ring, the happy couple were fated to meet, to be love, to be in pain, and at last they’re bond together again and every one is happy…
